IMHOTEP. He was not a ruler, but his achievements as a Scientist, Engineer, Architect, Doctor, and just overall polymath are the most legendary. He was elevated to the status of a Neter (god) by his people.

Mali was one of the most urbanised places on Earth at the time, and was larger than any contemporaries in Europe. If you had to live anywhere in the 14th Century, Mali would probably be up there.

This is so interesting! I grew up in Malawi where we would learn mostly African history at school. When I moved back to Germany I knew more about African history than my own history teacher lol. Needless to say, we were really only taught western history in Germany, so it’s wonderful to have a source of information on African history in this channel. Thank you!

My personal favorite has to be Hannibal. The mind games that he played on the Romans, the psychology he used to motivate his men, and the way he treated them like he had their backs have to be my favorite characteristics of his.

Bruh, come on. Queen Nzingha (1583-1663) was a 17th-century queen of the Ndongo and Matamba Kingdoms of the Mbundu people in what is known as Angola today.[1] Born into the ruling family of Ndongo, Nzinga demonstrated an aptitude for defusing political crises in her capacity as ambassador to the Portuguese, and later assumed power over the kingdoms after the death of her brother. She ruled during a period of rapid growth in the African slave trade. Her reign lasted 37 years.
Nzinga fought for the freedom and stature of her kingdoms against the Portuguese,[1] who were concentrating their efforts towards South West Africa, in attempts to control the slave trade.[2] Today, she is remembered in Angola for her intelligence, her political and diplomatic wisdom, as well as her brilliant military tactics. A major street in Luanda is named after her, and in 2002 a statue of her in Largo do Kinaxixi, Luanda, Angola was dedicated by then-President Santos to celebrate the 27th anniversary of independence.

Anyone who knows a lot about African history knows it's virtually impossible to determine the most legendary African historical figure. There were so many truly great legendary African figures that managed to stand out. Many of them have already been mentioned on this blog already.
However, as more & more African history & historical African figures come to light, the more Non Africans try to claim everything as their own creation. And that's something we can't allow to happen. So we need to do our own research & gather FACTS to replace the FICTION that's far too often being presented in place of FACTS.

Hometeam history , i really wish you would read more primary sources on Taharka because you fell to mention that Taharka calls himself "Emperor of the World". i quote from the Kawa Stela "My father Amun commanded me to place every land and country beneath my feet southward to Re Retehu Qabet (the known world in the south) Northward to Qebh-Hor (the known world of the north), eastward to the rising sun and westward to its setting.) lines 15-16 from kawa temple. Piankhi is only known because his military stela still survives to this day, however the ancient kemet and kush sources clearly point out that Taharka was greater. Taharka was only defeated in his old age, when he was no longer the great warrior he used to be.

I agree with the comment below about Queen Nzingha. You gotta have an African woman in there. Though no amount of list can match up to the achievements of African women and women of the African diaspora. Also I agree on Hannibal Barça.
Can’t support you on Patron because of covid 19 and my job loss. However I will support you on UA-cam and hopefully you’ll schedule and do a live stream one day just to interact with your fans. Also you should consider covering the black plague -a 12th century epidemic or pandemic and how Africans brought Europe out of it. Africans brought Europe out of the dark ages too. We’re in a pandemic right now, it’s good to learn something about our African history that relates to the current pandemic and gives us hope.

Died laughing! Your on the 1! Space-time! The fat dick prophecy! Win the round women fat stomach special go double cellular, you'll be rich for life! Oh yeah? E skinny folk? We don't want prosperity, we want the farmer to help feed me! Not lying, that is one of the messages of Jesus. To repent from lying, about the promises of life death poverty and wealth. Well all have to eat but we can't all be farmers. Knowledge is specialization! Which is appreciation in the mind. On the tip of a realization! The origin of civilizations who survived the exinction of ourselves! That's a fact! It's better to be wise than strong! To be the friend of my enemy, should not impale us on it's harshness! The earth is an open hand to the universe! Where all spirit must dwell in peace! The evolutionary Bhudda! Save your pride for your death. As life expands, it's molecules become our mind! Let's not fight over it, let's praise it! Nature, will explain itself to itself, over time! We Got Time! We can minupulate space as proof, from childhood! I remember travelling to earth! Before I was born! I had a pre-existing journey! That's not religion, that's memory! But we say, only memories effect the future, my mother's body gives birth to me! My memory is stored in her birth! A child is a replication of a specific infinity! The children are the origin of the gods! Does that prevent me from putting a light to the candle of humanity! When on the waves of your inner light, all energy is within U! Go! Show us a revelation! But use humility, and don't question us about it! Their are 2 doors to the sun, walk in both, but not one above other, only side by side! Those 2 doors are the sum of a third door, it's a mystery! To enter, you must bow under the eternity above U! Then, do battle with your enemies, to gain entrance! But if you try to avoid the fight, a higher being intercedes on your behalf, and prepares U for the next lifetime. Only the battles changes form, but the mind remains formless! If you want, you can remember when you were a tree! Just as a tree can remember when it was a bush! Plants have the most memory, then comes the air! But because it's, ever so slight, subtle, we have to hold it gently. But, because our bodies are oversaturated in sugar and salt, we are fixated on nervousness. For the younger generation, being nervous is their normal!

The Most Legendary is The Emperor Haile Selassie I King of Kings Lord of Lords Conquering Lion of Judah. He has a whole world wide religion that’s practiced in all continents(except Antarctica) by all different races and still growing. He has thousands upon thousands of songs dedicated to Him. His disciple Bob Marley is a Legendary World Wide singer. He’s literary seen as second as the second coming of Jesus Christ. Wether you believe it or not this is His status. He’s the most meddled Man in history, collecting military and campaign ribbons/medals from almost every country on the planet.
The next Legendary African is The Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

    1) The founding of the Mali Empire dates to the 1200s, when a ruler named Sundiata Keita-sometimes called the “Lion King”-led a revolt against a Sosso king and united his subjects into a new state. Under Keita and his successors, the empire tightened its grip over a large portion of West Africa and grew rich on trade. Its most important cities were Djenné and Timbuktu, both of which were renowned for their elaborate adobe mosques and Islamic schools. One such institution, Timbuktu’s Sankore University, included a library with an estimated 700,000 manuscripts. 2) The remains of a grand stone palace in Aksum, which is in present day Ethiopia, are believed to have been the home of the Queen of Sheba . There is no surviving record of what her real name was, but in North Africa today no one questions whether she was real or not. She is considered by Ethiopians to be the mother of their nation, and the founder of a dynasty which only died out with the last descendent, Haile Selassie in 1975. She is a well-documented historical figure in the Bible . 3) Mansa Kankan Musa - The Richest African Warrior
Musa I was the tenth Mansa (sultan or king) of Mali. His reign was between 1312 and 1337 AD. He was an extremely powerful leader and under his leadership Mali was able to conquer 24 cities. He had a great deal of nick names and titles, including the ‘Lion of Mali’ and ‘Conqueror of Ghanata’. 4) Shaka Zulu
Even today people know that the Zulu warriors were exceptionally skilled in combat. The military innovations adopted by Shaka Zulu helped to cultivate their warrior culture and fearsome reputation. But Shaka did not always resort to war, he was a skilled diplomat and was often able to negotiate with his adversaries. At the height of his ten year reign Shaka ruled over 250,000 people and commanded more than 50,000 warriors.
