As the former wife of an addict, I agree. Of course it's possible he is abusive or something, but I didn't sense that kind of fear from her. It's telling that she refused to call *anyone* in her life (not just husband), even under threat of being arrested. The people close to her have probably had enough of the lies and worrying about her, and her husband will be stuck sharing the fallout of her arrest, job loss, and ruined career. She was trying to delay facing any of that for as long as she possibly could. Maybe this will finally be her rock bottom.
Seriously. Obviously she’s in the wrong but posting this is just awful. I feel like if she just called someone from the get gobthey would have let her go and she could have avoided arrest.
It definitely is. But at the same time, some people need to hit rock bottom in order to rebound. It's an opportunity to get on the right track, because she's not doing it on her own anyway.
honestly, the alert sirens going off on their phones when they started discussing her demeaner right at the beginning was probably the most fitting coincidence i've ever seen, because damn that whole meeting was a disaster.
And they were really about to let her go home smfh she even wiped the cup inside she really has a problem. Imagine someone come in that school for shooting or any other bad thing and most of the teachers there or even one blew this much. She drinking like she taking care of high school kids or middle school.

You forgot the kids and the husband that kind of person don't care about others they only care about them so I don't have any sort of compassion for that type of person.
Your compassion is refreshing. So many nasty, mean, judgmental people on here. She has a problem. I had a hard time even believing she was drunk. Nevertheless, she was drunk. She got fired. I guess that’s not enough for people. They prefer public humiliation.
With a BAC that high and to remain functional and not really show she’s under the influence says she is an alcoholic. She has a very high tolerance to alcohol and it’s actually sad. I hope she gets the help
I love how nice the principal and cop were and tried their best to prevent her from being embarrassed, but this was just sad. I hope she gets the help she needs fs
Back when I was a teacher, I had a teacher friend who was an alcoholic. I knew he had a problem but had no idea that he was drunk at work. He was caught, lost his job, went through a really rough patch, but is now 5 years clean and sober and completely turned his life around. I hope this woman gets help.
Glad to hear he recovered. I'm not a teacher or have any friends that are, but for the most part I always respected my teachers and understood that they're dealing with their own struggles while simultaneously dedicating most of their lives to educate. I really feel for this woman even though it was a very irresponsible and careless thing to do. Addiction is a tough battle that not everyone has the strength to defeat, I sincerely hope she will be a victor in that battle 🙏
A principal who’s giving options to be terminated, resign, get picked up or find a ride??? That’s the very definition of compassion and understanding. She asked for a second chance, This is her second chance!
Not at teaching. She was arrested, charged, and this footage was released. Parents aren’t going to want this woman teaching their children and no other school district is going to want this attention. What you’re saying is very sweet, but realistically…she likely isn’t going to get a second chance here.
As a recovering alcoholic who went through something similar I feel this in the gut. I am 14 months sober now and my boss and company stood behind me and helped get me into rehab and saved my life.
She didn't even have anyone who would be willing to come pick her up. She also said she was carrying an AirBnB key, and she didn't want to call her husband, so things must not be going well at home. That poor lady. She must lead a very isolated lifestyle. Maybe that's part of why she drinks. Or maybe she's isolated *because* she drinks and pushes everyone away--that's a possibility, also. Still incredibly sad either way.
Typically jobs will at least allow you go seek rehab before being fired or even pay for the rehab. Surprised she wasn't given that option for a one time chance.
@@wombat5252it’s probably because children are involved. It’s horrible this was put on UA-cam, but I feel the lying and the fact she was at work drinking make the punishment justifiable

It's painful witnessing someone's life go down the tubes because of alcohol. Thank goodness she was caught.....I hope she gets the help she so desperately needs.
It's so sad. Her actions are completely inexcusable, but it's still tragic to see someone's life spiral so far into addiction. She's jeopardized the safety of the kids in her care, her colleagues, her marriage, her career, her retirement... I don't feel sorry for her being fired or arrested and I applaud all the professionals in the situation. But that doesn't change how sad it is to see someone fall so far. Blowing a .24 in an elementary school is beyond reprehensible. I hope she gets help and stays the heII away from kids in the meantime

I really hope she gets help. Obviously it’s highly inappropriate to drink at work, especially at an elementary school, but it’s clear she definitely needed this intervention.
So she needed to drink recklessly in frint of elementary school children???alcohol makes you act a fool and she was doing that in a place of EDUCATION AND ENTRUSTED TO CHILDREN!!!are you kidding me if she was a responsible individual that actually felt bad she would’ve called off and sobered up for the next day…unacceptable she made a choice to drink so suffer the consequences
As a recovering alcoholic the one thing that stood out to me the most was when she said " I thought I was doing a good job" She wasn't talking about her teaching job, she was talking about hiding her intoxication. The fact that she doesnt want to call anyone, including her husband shows how much she has already damaged her life and relationships with friends/family.
Exactly what I thought. Dealt with the same behaviour from my mother. It’s always someone else’s fault. It’s not even the drinking, it’s the lying and manipulation that hurts everyone so deeply. It destroys every ounce of trust other people have for you
You're really great at jumping to conclusions based on what information? Her husband could be abusive? She could be mortified and in a freeze response? She could be dealing with social isolation because if depression? Stop making snap assumptions because you watched a woman's lowest moment on UA-cam. What a lack of critical thinking, oof.
@@tenderpreciousIt doesn’t necessarily mean bridges are burned. She might be going through some depression and has isolated herself from everyone because she is embarrassed by it and doesn’t want others to know she had a problem. I’ve pushed my loved one away due to how low my life was a some point but thankful they were there for me afterwards. ❤
The fact she is this well composed at nearly a .25 tells me she's an EXTREME alcoholic. This level of composure is truly remarkable for anything over .20. Most social drinkers are slurring words a tad around .9 or .10 and definitely by .15 and most people are blacking out around .20. To avoid slurring words (almost entirely) at .25 ... she needs professional help. She is obviously dealing with something she can't deal with on her own
I used to just be really loose and a little slurry/drawl in the mornings and for most of my employment then I'd buy a bottle of wine at lunch and finish it by the in about 2-3 hours. Truly despicable stuff. Nobody ever pulled me up or spoke to me but I had one Co worker pick up my cup then stare at me.. it makes me physically hurt to think about.
It might be EXACTLY what she needs to finally “hit bottom” and turn her life around. The alcohol & drugs are likely killing her-she doesn’t look 53 and healthy…and her attempted mastery of manipulation was on display and rather shocking.
A big shout out to the administration and other teachers who saw her behavior and took action. Our schools need more of them taking responsibility and keeping our children safe. Sad to watch a woman's downfall, but hopefully now she'll get help.
When I was in high school, we had a teacher who was always drunk. It was wildly known that she had Vodka in her coffee cup. Nothing ever happened, no one cared (even administration). Hashtag rural public school!
This saddens me drunks are hiding among our children… among many other things. I’m glad the public school system caught this before something worse may have happened. This video reminds me of the drunk school bus driver in Florida not too long ago. Also 3x over the legal limit who jumped out of the ambulance shortly after.
They honestly should have intervened sooner though. If the time stamps on the video are correct, they were questioning her at the very end of the school day. If she had taken anti anxiety medication and was drinking throughout the entire day, there's no way that nobody noticed until the end of the day. The kids, a teaching assistant, a coworker, someone would have noticed she was acting funny and smelled like a winery. Yes, they did the right thing by confronting her, keeping her from driving home, firing her, and charging her with public intoxication. But they really could have and should have done more. They should have intervened sooner. Allowing her to continue supervising an entire class of 3rd graders while she was clearly under the influence is crazy and frankly extremely dangerous. She should have been charged with child endangerment for every student in her class. She also should have been charged for tampering with evidence for trying to wipe out the residue from her wine cup when the men left the room for a moment. Yes, she deserves sympathy for struggling with addiction, but she also really needs to be held accountable for making the decision to knowingly endanger other people children. I feel like the high ups in this school did a good job once they took action, but I just wish they has done so much sooner. 🫤🤷♀️

The addiction takes over and, even though she knew in her heart she would eventually be caught, she couldn't stop herself from drinking. I only feel a degree of sympathy for the fact she has this horrible addiction. However, her decision to drive and then be in charge of children is indefensible. The most shocking thing to me was how strongly she fought to keep her husband out of this, and refuse to contact him. If anyone should be there to support you, its your husband (sickness and in health, good or bad, etc) so she might have got herself into a domestic situation and has no one left to rely on.
It does appear that she is hiding her problem and doesn't want to admit that she has one. I also thought it was weird that her name tag said Ms. even though she is obviously married. Maybe she is having marital problems and is using alcohol to deal with it.
She said "WE had a box of wine" it makes me think maybe the husband drank too. 🤔 and I believe I heard her day he was working at another school... maybe she doesn't want him to get busted also 🤔 😕... I don't know I'm just speculating...

"I drank on the way to work" was the dumbest thing she could had said. She thought that because she wasn't drinking at school it would save her job but now she just admitted to DUI.
I think she was afraid of losing her job so she thought it would have been best to say she wasn’t even on campus. I’m only 8 minutes in so I hopefully it’s more clear. But if you have to come into your job drunk you need to reevaluate things.

A WEEK AGO. It gives a weird feeling to know that we are watching this almost instantaneously. In this moment, she is probably still coming to terms with the fact that this really happened. She and her family are just beginning to address the fallout of this. It's that fresh.
Hopefully this experience teaches her an important life lesson that there is a time and place for alcohol, and that time and place is not when you have to drive to school and teach young children. Unfortunately she seems too far in the trenches to be able to use alcohol responsibly so quitting is the only option. Going to need to replace the alcohol with a better therapist
It’s sad that is the reality. What a shame this stuff is put online for everyone to see so early in her process since that might make it harder for her to deal with and get sober. All for clicks 😢
lol one thing about teachers is that they looooove a good gossip sesh 😂 this will be passed down and retold to future teachers to make them feel better/less nervous about their first days. “You thought you had a bad first day? At least you didn’t get drunk!”
i dont really have any sympathy for her. she went from crying and sad to dry eyed and lying again when the principal brought the wine cup into the room, she refused to cooperate and call someone to get her - not even a taxi or an uber - because she didnt want to let her husband know about her drinking, she didnt tell the truth about her drinking until at least 10-15 minutes of interrogation, she begs to keep her job despite showing no signs of genuine remorse, she even tries to wipe the cup out to hide the smell of wine, and she wants sympathy? not from me.
As a recovering alcoholic, I really feel for this woman. I know all too well the depths to which alcoholic will take you. Nothing is sacred, no lie is too brash or too bold. No job, friend, family member or law enforcement officer is beyond the scope of our lies. I truly hope this woman got the help she needed and found the determination and ability to truly love herself that she needed
Thank you for your comment and I believe you. It’s not just alcoholism, it’s addiction in general. Speaking from experience! Thank you for your comment
IMO she deserves compassion, but the lies in this context are too much for me (and the wiping up the cup). Someone who lies this much doesn't belong around kids.
As a fellow human, I feel terrible for her, but as a fellow teacher, there is zero tolerance for this. She's in complete control for the safety of her students, and that's a hard enough task when completely sober. She knew before taking the first swig, what she was doing. Hopefully this is the wake up call she needs to get her life back on track.
As a registered nurse who has seen the carnage drunk drivers force onto others, I have no compassion for this woman. As a mother of small children, she makes me sick. She had more concern over her job than she did for those she threatened while driving, and for the safely of the third graders who she put in danger.
I am a weekend warrior teacher. I only drink Friday nights (TGIF) but I put down quite a bit. If it ever became a problem to the point I had to drink to be at neutral I’d resign or at least ask for a leave of absence to get help, and I’m sure my principal would support me. I think she was afraid of losing her job so she thought it would have been best to say she wasn’t even on campus. I’m only 8 minutes in so I hopefully it’s more clear. But if you have to come into your job drunk you need to reevaluate things.
i lost it when she said that!! like guuuurlll what, and then she went and changed the story again and said that she just drank BEFORE she left her home or whatever. i can’t
No the dumbest thing she said was pour me another.
As a classroom teacher, I rarely say this, but big ups to the administrator 👏
I would absolutely hate to have my worst moment plastered all over the internet like this, I can’t imagine. I hope she gets help, alcoholism is a monster. I’m glad no children were harmed, as a parent I would be livid. Just so many different perspectives to look at this from.
Agreed
Although I'm sure she is humiliated that this video is public, perhaps it will help be a wakeup call or the rock bottom she needs to get help and change. It could be a blessing in disguise. I feel so bad for her husband.
I agree with you
Why didnt she just call a cab or uber
Liar liar pants on fire , she should just be honest
It's kind of nauseating how drunks play the victim when they get caught out. Pathetic
When you think about it she’s somewhat of a victim for having an alcohol addiction, but the lying doesn’t make this situation any better
@alexgilbert2 the only victims of alcoholics are the people around them. Alcoholics care for nothing & nobody but the drink. We all have choices. She chose her life.
@@juliewilliams6712 fair
@@juliewilliams6712 you're right and I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for her (or her annoying whining and crocodile tears) this women was getting blasted not only at work but around children (another reason I'm homeschooling my future kids. I hate the American school system and I don't trust strangers to have my precious future children for hours 5 days a week) She had to have been drunk before she got to school meaning she was drinking and driving. She did all this to herself.
Especially when she was questioned about whether she had any alcohol in her classroom? Her response was “I don’t think so. That’s a little terrifying to me.
Am I the only one getting second hand embarrassment from this? I really hope this woman gets the help she needs, because it is unacceptable to be drunk while taking care of children. I work in childcare and this is not good. I do have empathy for her though.
It was so cringe when she wouldn’t stop stuttering
I have empathy, but Ive dealth with alot of people with alcholism (parents, ex husband, and some close friends as well) , and its just so.... ick.
Same here. This lady has some serious issues 😬
Taking care ? Or teaching? Bc alot of mothers be out here drinking while watching their children
@@luka9386You really woke up and said you wanna bait today, huh.
2 days ago…. 2.8 million……views…
@macditty // I was thinking the same thing. I thought they'd at least blur her face. This has probably made things worse, unfortunately.
And? What’s your point?
You know all those MESSY teachers were talking about that for weeks.
And all the messy kids had spread it around the school before she was even in the cop car 😂
Well maybe she shouldn't have gone to work.... in a SCHOOL... drunk. She's the "messy" one here
lol one thing about teachers is that they looooove a good gossip sesh 😂 this will be passed down and retold to future teachers to make them feel better/less nervous about their first days. “You thought you had a bad first day? At least you didn’t get drunk!”
@@bethannprather1462Exactly!!! Good comment!
And they watch this video with SNACKS 😂
i dont really have any sympathy for her. she went from crying and sad to dry eyed and lying again when the principal brought the wine cup into the room, she refused to cooperate and call someone to get her - not even a taxi or an uber - because she didnt want to let her husband know about her drinking, she didnt tell the truth about her drinking until at least 10-15 minutes of interrogation, she begs to keep her job despite showing no signs of genuine remorse, she even tries to wipe the cup out to hide the smell of wine, and she wants sympathy? not from me.
I hope the students get the help they need.
Beautiful put, she does deserve compassion and understanding in this moment of her life.
I’ve b😢 here and NEVER want to go back
IMO she deserves compassion, but the lies in this context are too much for me (and the wiping up the cup).
I don't feel sorry for that garbage, she couldn't even tell the truth when caught in a lie.
I am a weekend warrior teacher. I only drink Friday nights (TGIF) but I put down quite a bit. If it ever became a problem to the point I had to drink to be at neutral I’d resign or at least ask for a leave of absence to get help, and I’m sure my principal would support me. I love my kids far too much to disrespect and disregard them in that way. Shame on her.
@tandemteachingmoments1109. I’m a fellow daycare assistant teacher. On one hand she needs help but she put children in danger. So as a mandatory reporter for my state I would have to report her. My one former teacher sadly was arrested it was either my junior year of high school or my senior year of high school. He got help and is sober.
@@jonathanleitch6176"tgif" thank god it's your funeral? Stop drinking. Enjoy the little things in life. Don't you have a family and kids of your own? Focus on them. Go on little trips on Friday and bring them hiking to different scenery. I'm 24. Can't wait to have kids and enjoy the little things with my little ones while I'm sober. Drugs are just a form of self harm and I've never met anyone with a functional life that uses them
She was worried about the embarrassment of being walked out of school and now she's all over the internet. I hope that she gets the help that she needs and glad no one was hurt
😂… right.
Me too! And this should be against the law! Unless she has a lawyer present during this interview! And have been told they would publicly but this out there!!! Before they did it!!!!
Had she called someone and gotten a ride and then the next day resigned it likely never would have made the news.
@@LoverofSunflowernBees
I hope she sues em all!!!!!
@@adamcondon5115
Had they told her she could call lyft or uber or a cab...but in her state..she only knew they repeatedly told her to call "someone" to pick her up.
Every time I watch this, the one part that astounds me is when the cop tells her to turn around and put her hands behind her back she says "No, I don't want to."
That got me too. Literally turned into a defiant 3 year old. They should have taken her out the front
