@Unforseen Truth, everything positive you've written about the police officer is your interpretation and doesn't have to be so. (Him being kind, considerate etc. man.) The fact that he started blazing his gun while not being in eminent danger (yet? Because seeing guns in a glovebox is not being in danger), almost killing an innocent bystander because he didn't checked his line of fire tells me he never should be an example for others who serve. If this was in the Netherlands this cop would be "burned at the stake". Chances are it wouldn't even happen here because they patrol by the two and are trained for 4 years...
It’s amazing, the patience this officer was showing her at first. Such a stark difference compared to their approach with others. Even the emotional reaction afterwards. Such a difference between zip codes.
This is why body cameras are so important. You could tell this officer was more concerned about figuring out the situation than escalation. There didn't seem to be any unprofessional behavior. He gave the woman plenty of opportunity to explain what's going on without yelling. He seemed to have correctly identified the threat (the gun). It would be difficult for a lawyer to argue that a cop placed a gun on the scene if everyone's on bodycam.
