I am a Chevy guy, but I bought the Tacoma Off Road. It's my 1st Toyota and I love everything about it. I can see through GMs sales tactics, (offer more for less) and was willing to pay a bit more for Toyotas quality and long-term resale value. Its not the best at everything, but does everything well.
We are the opposite I’ve been a Toyota guy ever since I was young. My dad owned a 06 tundra that was my first car/truck. Bought a 11 Tacoma as my second car/truck and I recently bought a 24 Colorado z71 with all the specs and packages for only 42k.I was thinking of getting the Tacoma last year but the dealerships here in Michigan just pushed over MSRP+ dealership markups. So I was like I live in Michigan the big 3 headquarters are here so I might aswell check GM they gave me all the packages and warranty under MSRP and no dealership markups it was a steal.
@TheCountDook I bought in December. No upcharges. I paid $5550 less than MSRP. It was $1500 more than Chevy. Amazing discount after waiting a year after release. Buying new was a smart deal too. The overall cost was virtually the same as used when financing was considered. New rate was 2.9% vs 8.9% and my score is perfect!
@ you got lucky. Unfortunately when I was shopping for a Tacoma everything was marked up a 2024 trd off-road was 50k msrp and the Toyota dealership I always go to was selling it for 54k above msrp and dealership markup it was crazy. I got lucky tho with Chevy full warranty msrp for my 24 z71 was 46k got it for 42k. Hopefully that taco does you well I love Tacomas just wasn’t willing to pay 50k for a mid size truck
@@michaelefournier also i guess I’m lucky living in the state where the BIG 3 headquarters are at so they never do dealership markups except for of course Toyota and non Big 3 car companies
Coming from ownership of BOTH vehicles (2024 Chevy trailboss and now a 2024 tacoma TRD OR non-hybrid). I can honestly say stay far, far away from the Colorado or Canyon. If you decide to purchase it anyway make sure you buy that extended warranty and sell it before its over lol. Luckily i was able to trade in the Chev without losing too much but even that was a struggle. Every dealer was like "ahh well you know how domestic trucks do for resale" even though it had very low miles on it. Chev issues: Roof denting from a carwash. This is a real issue and there was a service recall - even happened again after the fix (just dont go into a carwash with one) Software issues nonstop. Turn the truck off and.. well it still runs! All the electronics would run for 5-20 minutes after you "turn off the truck". The fix from Chev? disconnect the battery every single time you get out of the truck.. for real? lol This issue I had with the truck my entire length of ownership because of the software issues. Many owners were left stranded due to this issue causing the battery to fail. Transmission is dogshit. 1st to second already was getting rough and is a known issue however there is no official fix from chev. Tacoma has 0 issues so far and I already have more miles on this compared to the colorado.
I have a 2017 Tacoma and a 2024 Canyon. Aesthetically the Canyon is in my opinion the best looking midsize truck out there, but my Tacoma has 150,000 basically flawless miles on it. Time will tell if the Canyon can duplicate that- it got off to a rough start with already having the rear main seal replaced at 1,000 miles.
I got my premium taco sport a year ago out the door for 50k felt like I stole it.. the 4th gen taco is fun to drive and should outlast its competitors ..
What happened to basic, cheap pickup trucks? Do we really need a ton of tech and do we really need 60K midsize trucks? Love my 24' Frontier, paid 32K and does everything I need it to do!

I have a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off Road and love it. Quick note: key fob on 2024 does have remote start. Click the lock button 3x.
Both awesome trucks, tough choice

Tacoma all the way. Don’t trust MSRP-Toyota dealers offer better service and deals than Chevy, at least in my experience.

Both the Chevy and Taco are so much nicer than the grocery gett’r Ford Ranger
The coil spring suspension starts on the SR5,,, little bit of your information was incorrect
Tacoma best mid size truck.
Colorado for me

Chevy has active fuel management…. Have fun running around in a two banger
Toyota had proven in the past they can build a reliable turbo engine GM hasn’t that’s why I would buy the Toyota
Gimmi the Colorado
Tacoma all the way
No contest. I'll take the Chevy.
Feel sorry for anyone who decides to throw their kids education into to prices of these over bloated pickups.
