I just got my cuddle clone that I made of my cat Shelby, who passed away from HCM on June 26, 2015. I am so very happy with my cuddle clone!! It's so nice to be able to hug Shelby again!! I also loved that they put his name on the tag!! The only thing that I would mention is that they did his snout a bit shorter than his was. He had more of a Siamese look with his nose. But I'm still happy with my cuddle clone. From the front it looks just like Shelby. I also would wonder what they would do with the cuddle clone if I returned it. I think they sell them for a reduced price on their website.
I'd still be happy. I still really want one. Of course it's not gonna be perfect or an exact replica. I still think they are still very well made. Can you air brush him to make him darker maybe?
Luckily my cat is only black and white so her cuddle clone looks identical to her lol... and yes it's expensive but they do %off and giveaways super often (I won a like 40% off one one time which helped to lower the price some) the quality is very nice and soft and decent size in person, mine is about as large as my cat is. It's worth it just know the quality and lighting of pictures can change the look of what the clone looks like compared to your real pets
Hello, I work in the industry, and while I'm not involved with this particular business, I do want to point out that can be rather difficult to replicate exact realism using only fabric, thread and stuffing - especially when the subject's features are more subtle(such as a cat). This is why taxidermy pieces use a solid form inside. Certain other types of animals (such as certain dog breeds) may be easier to replicate since their features tend to be stronger and more defined. The faux furs used may also not be as precise, since they are expensive and limited to the fabric suppliers' stock. Just an FYI so you know what to expect.
it is true it seems that only dogs are good for that company since I asked for a kitten, I sent good photos and they did not manage to leave her even similar, it was a great disappointment and from what I saw in the reviews the same thing happaned to many people.

"the shelter pups" is a site similar to cuddle clones, they weren't talking about going to a shelter and stuffing a dog that they adopted. It is still $175. So not that much of a cheaper option, and they are smaller, although it helps animals that are in shelters which is a great cause.
My cat's not doing too well, so I was considering getting one of these for when he... goes. But the more I think about it, and the more uncanny comparisons I see, the more depressed I feel, knowing that the replicas will likely outlast the actual animals. And I just know I'd be curled up in bed with my cat's delicate, crying my eyes out all day every day, wishing it was the real thing. He's still sleeping on my bed, right at my feet right now, and I'm already crying at the thought of losing him and replacing him with a soulless toy! Dammit, I've hit sad boy hours!

I did the same thing and spent as much time as I could with him.... well that's how it's been for many years... he was a spoiled momma's boy. I've been reading and watching reviews about Cuddle Clones and trying to decide if I'm going to get one or not. I think it would be nice to come home and see him laying on the bed or window sill. I still greet him when I come home, but his space is empty. I think a Cuddle Clone would help me a lot. I wish you and your lovely kitty the best. 💕
The CC looks So terrific from an outsider perspective!! I think folks need to keep in mind Realistic Expectations. Its Such a terrific idea & can really help people grieving. Its not a real animal. Its gotta be difficult to keep the right balance of realistic versus cartoony, while not wanting it to look creepy/taxidermy-y. I dont think its appropriate to send a custom commission back but thats just me - a random dummy stranger on the internet whos really not trying to be a jerk just has dealt with being a custom creator for 13+ years. The person already did the work & cant resell it, so you're making the maker pay out if their pocket for something you ordered Both in time/labor & actual dollars. Wish people understood that.

It’s not even that bad, you could call them or whatever and voice your concerns, with fur they probably airbrush so getting it darker wouldn’t be too hard. And some people need to calm down, its a stuffed animal not taxidermy it’s not going to look just like the real thing.
Heyo. Being someone who sews plushie and costumes, I need to get my two cents in. You are commissioning someone for a custom product. It is a one of a kind item. So yes. It will be pricy. Especially with that level of realism. Material costs are also a big factor of any custom plushie. As well as furs. I don't airbrush but it seems they did. But say you want a grey fur and an orange fur. Well. They might not have the shades of colors they need in the same length. And shaving faux fur can be tricky if you don't know how to do it right. I have no idea how much you paid in USD. So can't say much. But a high quality product like that can't just be fixed magically. And there's a LOT of factors that can be hard to fix. If you truly are unhappy with the product. Go to the company and get ahold of someone who can help. Edit: ok now i see the price. That's honestly not that bad for that level of high quality.
In the colour regard, luckily my cat was black. Well, not solid black, she had faint tabby bloched pattern, but overall, looking at her, you saw a black cat. I hope they will reproduce faithfully her baby ears.
It looks great. Your cat is just a bit odd looking, lol. It's gray is such a dark looking gray...But also, I suppose you should make sure the pictures you send in are super clear, taken in lots of light..
I ordered a Cuddle Clone of my kitten but I had no luck since what I received after two months does not look anything like my cat, so they even made a mistake in the color of her eyes, I ordered blue and they arrived in light green. I was so excited but the truth was a total disappointment a disaster. :'(
I honestly think it looks really good compared to some of the other cats they have made. You're being just a bit too picky. You can definitely tell it's your cat's clone.
I viewed a video of someone who reviewed Petsies (two Pomeranian dogs) and then saw this, and wonder if dogs are easier to "clone" than cats? I thought both Petsies' and Cuddle Clone's dogs looked more authentic and "real" than their cats.

I know this is a late response, but I just had to say I'm sorry you got kinda screwed over. Paid so much for something that really doesn't hold a good likeness to your pet. :( Her coat looks way darker than the plush. I hope you returned it and were able to get it fixed. I'm assuming the photos you provided for reference had decent lighting in them and that Pringles's coloration was clear, so it was probably a crappy job on their part. The patterning does look good overall, though.
edit: i ended up returning my cuddle clone. they did not accurately capture him, and i found it caused me more pain rather than comfort. one day i will commission a cutesy beanie style plush of him from an artist who will put the most care into doing it right rather than a company that may not care to make it exactly how the client would have hoped. i could do so for the same price as these go for or even less, support an artist, and get a more catered outcome. to commemorate him in a cute way. the 'realism' wasnt what i'd need. and they of course need to make a bunch of these cuddle clones as opposed to one artist making the perfect unique plush. i did, however, get a blanket of him, too. that i did keep, as it was cute. og comment: i think its super cute and lovey. my sammy bibble passed away and i will be happy to have a bibble to hug and love. i think this service is best for those with pets who have passed away; not necessarily live ones in my opinion since theres more room for scrutiny
Thank you for the review. I'm glad the color was pointed out so we know. Bear in mind the design was intentionally off so that it wasn't a taxidermy clone kinda thing. They wanted it to be toy enough that it wasn't creepy and that you can clearly see it's manufactured. I hope they fix the color but I think design wise they're on point.
ouch, I mean I want a dog and my parents have said no forever despite all of my achievments like getting into stanford precollegiate studies. I thought a cuddel clone would be awesome for me so I can get the breed I want since even if I manage to get them to get me a dog, its gonna be like a chihuahua or something. I was going to order a dutch shepherd with a brindle color and my spec were than It can ben you know with a metal infrastructure and could retain all the bends so I can create a sitting and standing posture. I also wanted it to be completely life sized and third, I wanted him to look xactly like a real one. Since none of those specs even concern this, I gotta call it off and just move on. Its also overpriced for the quality iff I may add i mean I would easily buy it for any price if it was very good quality since Idc about money since we have a very rich background anyways but for this quality, its a waste of money. I will donate to them though since they are doing this for a good cause. Just wish it was a little better.

Lots of defensive comments here when as far as I'm concerned everyone has a right to there freedom of speech without being degraded for there personal opinion. I think this is a wonderful company that does a beautiful thing. It is a unique handcrafted good quality item so of coarse it will be expensive and that's within its right. However, with a price tag like that I'd expect at least a 90% likeness with of coarse the proper pictures and detail provided. This plush looks nothing like her pet and I'm dissapointed in the product. I would expect better for the price tag and for something this special, it is extremely important for the customer to be satisfied. It really depends on whether or not someone is happy with the likeness of said plush product to there furbaby. I for one will not be purchasing if this is the results in detail.
I know this is an old comment, but I just lost my dog and was looking for similar options to “clone” my fur baby. Trust me when I say that Cuddle Clones are actually on the cheaper side when it comes to a custom, hand-made product. I found several other options on Etsy and a couple other websites, and you could get the same quality/size, but for $600+!!! No thank you! $250 is actually a pretty damn good price.
@@sharpasnails7601 I would definitely not mind paying that price point, only if it truly resembles my pet though. However it doesn't have to be 100%, but being in the hundreds it should be pretty similar. I so much as considered future taxidermy because of how important my babies are to me.

They charge through the nose for these things, and they don't even remotely look like the animal they are supposed to be representing. They are simply cartoonish toy representations of them. What a ripoff.

Tocko Licious I don't think you understand how a custom plushie is made. That is more then just sewing some fabric together. This level of craftsmanship takes time. As well as 30%-50% of the cost is MATERIALS. It's a luxury item. And faux fur can range from $10usd/yard to $100usd/yard. You can't just send back a custom and demand they remake it. You have to work something out with The company.
21unicornz its a cool thing to have when tour animal passed away. I had a ferret that passed away 4 mo ths ago and im thinking about getting one because i miss him a lot. Even tho i have a lot of picture and object to remember him, i think having a plush that looks exactly (or almost) like him would just be really cool

Tocko Licious I don't think you understand how a custom plushie is made. That is more then just sewing some fabric together. This level of craftsmanship takes time. As well as 30%-50% of the cost is MATERIALS. It's a luxury item. And faux fur can range from $10usd/yard to $100usd/yard.
You can't just send back a custom and demand they remake it. You have to work something out with The company.
You have no knowledge of craftsmanship. I do think it is too little outcome for the price but whatever.

21unicornz its a cool thing to have when tour animal passed away. I had a ferret that passed away 4 mo ths ago and im thinking about getting one because i miss him a lot. Even tho i have a lot of picture and object to remember him, i think having a plush that looks exactly (or almost) like him would just be really cool
