MWO Build & Skills : XL Farmstar the Supreme Farmer

- The Nightstar-10P with uACs is lovingly known by many as the Farmstar for its ability to Farm lots of damage. Not much PinPoint FrontLoaded (PPFLD) damage makes it hard to get many kills but with its high rate-of-fire, it sure can shred armor!
While I previously featured a STD engine build for this which is easier for the average player to use, this time I feature the XL version. XL allows more ammo and, more importantly, heat sinks which allows for much more farm. Sure, it is fragile but with good positioning and twisting, the trade off is worth it.
PS: This variant is also quirked for 4x RAC2 but RACs at high tier against skilled players is tougher (tbh) because of the even lower PPFLD and wind-up time of RACs. Also a personal preference for me for UACs over RACs.

Man, You kept it together better than 95% of people would've with that guy. It was so satisfying to see he got taken out at the end of the match. I've had a few matches with you, and you're one of the best team mates to have.
Well, he was trying to be productive at first but my patience was short (I'm only human) that match. He just got toxic and went on and on after I told him to clear Comms and his calls were basically just funnelling people into the kill zone without calling out threats that were farming our team while they dived. - BrioS
Well, that was special! Everyone diving into the crater/canyon instead of keeping to the high ground. I generally mute people these days who are annoying. With the way the queue is and the PSR it's more every man or four man for himself/themselves rather than let's play as a team. The teams are more mobs than teams generally. It gets better in the higher tiers, but it's a pretty low bar to hurtle. When I see my team staying to the low ground, it's almost certain it's a lost game, especially on Canyon.
That's the way to own up to your imperfections... Nicely done. The imperfections were nicely done as well!

Thanks. I'll make it a point to focus on the commentary more, especially when I make bad decisions as I feel one learns a lot from mistakes too.
Granted that I tend to post matches where I did well in the build. There are, of course, games I totally screw up but there's nothing to show about the build there 🤭 - BrioS
GGs brios, i met u a few times before that game. it was a tough fight on grim plexus, fought well by both teams tho.
That Plexus match was very amusing. No one really wanted to cap or be more aggressive (to kill first so we can cap). Just wanted to stand around behind rocks.
Was doing what I occasionally do : Just play QP without talking much/making calls so I can see the routes and behaviour of PUGs to better predict them, painful as this can be... - BrioS

Surprised you didn't stop to block him. I don't bother trying to reason or listen to people like that. It's not worth my time. Fun to play with you on either team every time!
To be fair, I wasn't nice to him too. Also, I can't block teammates when they are dead 🤭
I was mainly irritated because he was making very obvious calls like enemy in E4 (thus clogging Comms) and also causing the team to dive in and get farmed by the real threats further away on the flanks.
As a result of these calls, he almost threw the match. Don't think he realises all this... - BrioS

Good that it was you that got him! He was basically making calls that resulted in the team diving into the crater at E4 while ignoring the rest of your team farming my team. Don't think he realised that. - BrioS

It always gets a hearty belly laugh from me when people who run their mouth are also average at best at the game! Oh well, who knows what his day was like before that match I guess. We are all fighting battles no one knows about. But still, what an idiot! (That first match I mean). Also, I'm going to have to try this build, usually I just run the rac build

I did and didn't enjoy this video because I have struggled with the same as in game 2 over the last year a lot. I look at it well hey at least I got a green up arrow at the end. thanks Brios.
It takes experience to know when to be mote aggressive and when to break off and cap to win the game and because your team, without you, probably can handle the enemy mechs.
Losses by caps do happen like in game 2 but focusing on killing the enemy first wins far more games. To be honest, if a few of the mechs broke off to cap when I called for it (albeit in a gentle manner), we would have won. Ah well... in such a match with teammates like this, just focus on individual performance because apparently team doesn't want to win. 😉 - BrioS
Man I just tried this build and did 1600 dmg my first game with it... lol
It's a very strong build but fragile due to the XL. The damage isn't pinpoint so it does a lot of damage but has problems taking out mechs fast . - BrioS

why would you guys make one of the best farming mechs more powerful by giving it extra magic ammo? by next year you might as well make all ballistics ammo 1000 rounds per ton and lasers no heat so all the mechs will be viable
