    hamstrings the biceps of the legs

    • @martinv1995
      @martinv1995 5 років тому +15

      @@ws5712 No, the quads are like the triceps. You might think it otherwise, since the quads are on the front side, like your biceps, but remember that the elbow and the knee hinges in opposing directions. This way, both quads and triceps are used in pushing movements, while the biceps and hamstrings are used in pulling.

    When you do static stretching, you're telling your muscles to relax. So it's not good to do while in the middle of working out. Save it for later. Dynamic stretching during or before the workout.

      I agree that some stretching is better than no stretching, but for lifting, dynamic stretching is better preworkout, as well as postworkout. Studies prove this. And they also show static stretching to be less and less effective for lengthening muscle the more it's studied. Static stretching is kind of just for temporary relief and it feels good so do it if you want but don't expect results from it like dynamic stretching.

    • @15blackfox
      @15blackfox 7 років тому +2

      Yup, I was also taught that dynamic before lifting and static stretching afterwards.

    Pretty sure what you're describing as a SDL is a RDL. SDLs start from the floor. RDLs start from the top and the weights never touch the ground while performing the movement, which is what you are doing.

    • @knightveg
      @knightveg 4 роки тому

      Conception and belief that stiff leg deadlift start from the floor
      You're not engaging the the hamstrings till you get to the top and lowering the bar to halfway point
      All you're doing with lifting the bar off the floor is a traditional deadlift
      The difference between a romanian and the stiff deadlift,
      You both start at the top position one uses the glutes and other uses the hips

    remember beginners: bigger weights+small reps makes your muscles big/strong but no strength and less good shape! lighter weights+bigger reps makes your muscles less bigger and stronger but much more strength and well better shaped and more healthy imo...
