    God Bless and I tell you. You will find young rural Filipina loves old man. Next thing she is going to take you to her village and introduce her 20 or 30 siblings and cousins. Then you will marry her and feed her entire village relatives. That’s how it goes in Philippine why so many young girls marry old white man. You need to feed all her family and extended family. They are poor and starving. They care less you’re old or not. It’s very sad reality.

    Gweilo just wana remind u whn u go to d Phils , dnt be surprised about d negative comments all d time frm d Filipinos about Chinese because these people are 101% pro western countries. Anyone who is white , tall , n English speaking , they surely look at ur $ face. Always rmbr that it's always MONEY , d subject is always MONEY. Be careful of pickpockets even in malls because d pickpocketers also dressed very class or normal that u cnt distinguish them frm d real regular passersby. Always carry ur belongings in front of u , never never at d back. Avoid crowded places or if u cnt avoid it just avoid close contacts. Goodluck n take care.

    Could not agree with you more, a rolling stone gathers no moss. I spent the month of March over in PH with my girlfriend, beautiful friendly people, hopped between the island of Cebu and Samar, particularly Calbayog in the provinces. Yes you have the vast differences between wealth and poverty, it's just the way it is there, but there's a feeling that everybody wants to help you in some sort of way, well that's what I found. My girlfriend is from a tiny barangay with such a great community spirit, all brought to a centre by a massive plaza, a covered basketball court, where there is a fiesta every year around May. I can't wait to retire there and finally get to do the Kuratsa, a dance done by the Waray people that seemingly symbolises a rooster and a hen mating dance, but with pesos being thrown? Enjoy yourself, life is too short and you don't need me to be telling you that. Take care and safe travels kirk

  • @Martin-b9s1h
    @Martin-b9s1h 6 місяців тому +3

    I personally would have gone with Thailand, but Kirk will have a good time in the PH, it's a great place for westerners to retire. The biggest benefits (not related to love) are minimal language barrier, a massive expat community/support network, very low COL, and straightforward visa process with a legitimate retiree visa. I lived in China for a long time and living as a foreigner in a T3 city like Nanning without knowing Chinese or having a Chinese spouse is a very lonely and difficult existence.

    There’re a lot of Chinese descendants in philippines, even marco ancestors are from Fujian but human nature is unpredictable! There’re lots of philippinos who speak Fujian dialects but they don’t speak in front of strangers! Anyway be careful in philippines as the country is not considered a safe country! The year l visited Manila and other cities was in 1976 but I joined a package tour as everything was arranged by the tour! At that time our tour had a special passage way to enter as a group, save the time of lining up the immigration counter! Would l visit the country again, not in my wishlist! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Australia may be my fifth visit as l got friends there. One guy took me to flower drum restaurant in Melbourne. Chinese food in Australia ie sydney and Melbourne is first class! I recently found out a guy in Hongkong arranging tours to exotic places in China, eg south Xinjiang, north Xinjiang, etc etc . The places are really beautiful, one place they visited is in Xinjiang famous for the horses. They said one fine horse for auction had fetched a price of over US$10million! Anyway lots of beautiful places on earth!

    Going out of the airport in Manila, look or ask for the Grab counter, that's their Didi. Give the person at the counter your destination and they'll call a ride for you. The cabs there are pretty old & crappy and the newer ones won't want to use the meter, specially seeing as you're a gweilo...actually they might call you Joe. Anyway, it'll be stinking hot until about June, it's the hottest time of the year. They're getting high 30s to 40s at the moment, so be prepared. Then comes monsoon and typhoon season starting around June. If you can't bear the heat any longer, head to Baguio City, north of Manila...it's 10 degrees cooler up there in that mountain city.

      So is 🇲🇾 malaysia! Penang has a large number of qweilo retiring! The country speaks English. There’re a lot of beautiful Chinese women speaking fluent English ie like native English though some with Indian accent but educated Chinese speaks queen’s English. There’s a malaysian Chinese lawyer by the name of melvin poh who has a youtube channel. His English is superb! Go and listen his post!

      @@បេះដូង-ឡ5ទ Language is important. Many Japanese during the 80s and 90s went to live in the Philippines. When old and run out of money, their chicks deserted them. Broke, and jobless because they can not find jobs because they didn't learn to speak the local language. They seek the Japanese government to help them return to Japan. So far, I did not come across any news regarding the issue.

      @@cfyau2008Penang is wonderful. I live in HK and would consider it a second home. Cheap food, very nice people, but beer maybe not that much of a past time though. Pretty safe, English spoken. I would not consider the Philippines but honestly, the sexpat strope is pretty pitiful though, sorry. Their patriotism and religious fervour are pretty irritating as well. Talk about opium of the masses. But the idea of having multi places is a good plan. On the plus side, you'll get laid.
