Maybe now that Apple’s not spending R&D on a car they can bump the minimum ram and storage specs to 16/512.
I’m sure this was a tongue-in-cheek comment but one has absolutely nothing to do with the other. Budget allocations are standard for almost all financial business plans. If a device needs more RAM and storage, it has to be a “simple” decision to make it so. Trust me, the funds needed to implement this are already there.

My MacBook Air in 2011 was 256gb storage. Admittedly that was a storage upgrade from 128gb and everyone complains about the same thing but it is now 2024 and 256 is the base and it just seems like we could have gone a little further than 256 base in 13 years.
When Apple announced the extensive enhancements to CarPlay, I figured something was up with Project Titan.
I hope we get a midnight iPad to match my 15 pro.
I’ve got a mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15 inch I bought in September 2014 when I started college. It hasn’t gotten major updates in a couple of years. The battery is starting to go and the display has gotten super dim recently. I think now is the time for me to get a 15 inch MacBook Air. I don’t use it much other than for Safari and to back up photos. But my MacBook has been solid for the past nine years and six months I’ve had it. All the late nights writing papers and getting me through the day. Man what a tank.

Excuse me if I missed it, wasn’t there also talk of Haptic/taptic feedback for an accessory ring function for Vision Pro? As well as better hand tracking basically a controller you can wear instead of hold maintaining the hands-free allure.

Good breakdown analysis as usual, Brian. I have a HomePod mini and the one thing I like best about it is to be able to AirDrop from the classical music app. It goes well in my office the navy blue one :-) but I do have Amazon and Google in the kitchen and I’m settling in with those too. Apple should’ve tried to make a car. The automotive world was not their niche. They need to concentrate on what’s important now the folding iphone and iPad concepts need to see the light of day very soon particularly when you’re looking at phones like the one plus open.

I'm kinda sad about the Apple Car, Vision Pro does nothing for me and it was kind of the next big thing to look forward to. 10 years and 10 billion dollars in, they must have at least had cool prototypes.
R.I.P. Apple Car. Although I think this is more of a see ya later than goodbye. As EV technology becomes more advanced and cheaper, Apple may take another swing at this in 10-20 years.

I really wanted a mini-led upgrade to the display, Apple needs to bump the display on the air.
Get a Pro if you want that.They have to differentiate between the two.
@@davidjacobs6244 Thats the thing. I'm rocking the m3 Pro daily right now, just wanted something smaller/lighter I can carry everyday but the displays on the airs look terrible compared to the pro. The iphones and the ipads all look great, the airs are lacking with the displays

There is a technical mistake in the video. M3 air supports two external displays with up to 5k resolution each. That means support for 2 studio displays BUT NOT 2 Pro Displays. ProDisplay XDR is 6k, so the new MacBook Air will still support just one.

Because it’s a tiny upgrade so it’s not worth it.
Because they know the reviewers are so lazy all they will talk about is the color, not gaming performance, the whole point of the M3.

Ive got a poorly built, plastic, with poor battery life lenovo, but with an intel i7 8th gen and 20gb of ram with no gpu (mx110 stopped working) and 1256gb hdd+ssd im kinda looking to macbooks HOWEVER im afraid it would be a downgrade and not an upgrade in terms of raw performace , can someone give their opinions? Should i wait for a M5 competition mac with 20gb of ram or not?
Not a fan of this line. I mean, I like that it does not have fans, but good Mac notebooks typically start at $2,000 new before discounts, and that hasn’t changed in 5 years +. In my opinion, laptops need HDMI, and benefit greatly from having ports on both the left and right sides. Beyond that, the iMac shipped with 256 GB storage in 2006, so if you’re putting up four figures for a computer today, I don’t know why that same storage amount is even on the table. Apple’s markups for increased storage are at around 500-1000% today, and that’s with a recent increase in flash pricing in the general market. By the time you upgrade the storage and RAM, it’s the same price range as the as the MacBook Pro with the same storage, which in turn, when equipped with enough RAM, is the same price range as the M3 Pro model with sufficient storage and RAM, and USB-C ports on both sides. You don’t save much in weight between 13 and 14 inches, and if you want a bigger screen, 14 and 15 inches at the same weight - there isn’t much in it. Just get the Pro and enjoy the fancier fundaamentals like the HDR-ready screen, the speaker array, and the nicer keyboard deck. They’re not dissimilar enough in price to worry about.
Turn the 15” flat iMac into the 15” iPad with an attachable mac mini!!!!

I was looking forward to seeing an apple car. I thought apple VR glasses would be similar to google glass back in the day. simple but tech. I'm an avid sunglass collector but I didn't vibe with ray ban meta when they first came out because I thought it was an invasion of privacy. hopefully things have changed with meta and I will consider getting the RB x meta. If Apple make movie about this project it will be interesting to watch, from ide to the end and why putting down the project. See all secret rooms and prototype they make, this movie will give lots of money back they lost all this years. And why not do a special edition of that movie only to Vision Pro

All the self driving car projects seem to have run into trouble. Ten years ago, the pundits were certain we would all be driving them by now. It turns out to be much more difficult than imagined. I predict it will be the same for setting up a moon station, let alone landing humans on Mars.
The electric vehicle market is saturated. Tesla had the lead for so long but now it’s going into the stage where everyone is getting into it and starting to do it better. The thing keeping Tesla on top is no longer the car but rather the extensive and expansive charging network. That’s the future. Batteries and a charging network.
The Apple car would likely not sway buyers like me looking at how good a Sienna van is. And it would likely be an EV that is useless below freezing temperatures and crossing multiple states for a long trip.
Introducing Apple car, it has only one button.
Sooo...basically nothing new unless you still have an Intel mac. No other hardware change other than the faster WiFi. No one on the M1 or M2 needs this unless you have money to burn. We don't know how the M3 will impact the battery life and if throttling will be in issue.
tbh its a 3nm chip so it will only throttle if they increase tdp otherwise it will be more efficient and powerful
I’m excited for this coming from an M1 air. 60% faster is nothing to sneeze at and the screen is brighter. It’s not a shocking upgrade but still a nice one for a system I use every day.
Nothing new unless you stop listening to "it has a new color" drivel from UA-cam reviewers. Very disappointing review. This new machine is fantastic running the new games. What do we get? Oh look, it has a better black case! Feh!
@@duggus777 60% on paper but real life use is not noticeable unless you are pushing the machine. The MBP have the better screen if that is your priority and faster memory bandwidth as well.

Tim Cook should lose his job for wasting a decade and billions of dollars on Project Titan. What a screwup that was. Steve Jobs must be very displeased looking down on all of this.
Unless the car was a smoke screen for their gaming project. Microsoft makes a billion a quarter on games. That makes the expense reasonable.
Do a web search for the gross profit of Apple over that same decade, even while spending money on this project. Let's say he had not approved this *one* project, but Apple's income was at the same level as it was 10 years ago, would that have made him a better CEO?
It looks like it's gone from about $20 billon per year to $54 billion *per year.* Over the decade, the "billions wasted" on the Titan project is probably less than 1% of the *profit* made. And not all of those billions spent is a waste, as at least some the research done for that is going to benefit other projects.

I am surprised that like the M1 and M2 MacBook Airs the new base level M3 MacBook air is misconfigured by Apple to give it sub-optimal performance. There is no excuse for only providing a 256 Gb SSD or only 8 Gb of RAM in any laptop costing more than $1,000 in 2024. A big problem in the UK and I guess also in America is that retail outlets only sell the 256 Gb flash/ 8 Gb RAM models and so it takes a real effort to buy a properly configured MacBook from a store.
Apple are also still providing too little flash storage in the standard models of iPhone. I challenge anyone to find anything other than the 64 Gb iPhone SE 5G 2022 in a retail outlet. I would also challenge anyone to find an Android phone with less than 128 GB flash at the iPhone SE 5G 2022's price point.
The decreasing cost of PC SSDs still follows Moore's law and so I am certain that it costs less to manufacture a 512 GB M3 MacBook Air than it did to manufacture a 256 Gb M1 MacBook Air.

Tim Cook called an emergency meeting with Elon, bought more Twitter advertising than ever and Elon left with the Apple car killed and no longer planning the Tesla phone. Here's the deal I really need your help with this guys cause I'm really struggling. I'm having a really difficult time with Apple right now I have all their products I have the Apple Watch Ultra which I really like probably my favorite Apple product and then I have my iPhone 15 Pro Max Win terabyte I have a MacBook Pro I have a 2018 iPad Pro Still works great but here's my issue. There's no multitasking on my phone which is killing me and my iPhone 15 Pro Max feels exactly like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which felt like my iPhone 11 felt like my iPhone X and so many ways. I don't know if I'm going crazy, but it's really hard to buy the same phone over and over again and Siri is complete garbage and I really want company is going to lean into AI and also lean into strong features like multitasking and things that Samsung is doing and I think someone said it when they said Apple wants to sell you multiple products so if they make one product better than the other product, you might just buy one product. I feel that way about the iPhone if it were as good as the Samsung phones with multitasking in AI maybe wouldn't buy that tablets me know your thoughts I'm just getting bored with Apple and I feel like they never really innovate that much and I'm use all their default apps because I try to support the stock situation but I really find myself bored. Let me know if you can help me through this, I wonder if I should get a Samsung S24 ultra or S25 ultra down the line to feel something different.
Have you guys ever felt this way here's another thing voice texting on iPhone is painful. I remember having android phones and really appreciating how accurate the voice texting was that actually actually bumps me out about Apple to. Also, how can you sell? A premium smartphone has to have such a terrible assistant. Siri literally feels like they just forgot and literally don't care anymore.
Thoughts 💭 make it make sense I didn't wanna leave Apple, but I feel like apples leaving me and it's really hard to make sense of it all right now.
