I can grant them the Mirror World stuff since they had to leave that unresolved due to COVID restrictions and all that (Side-Note: Can we stop freaking out every time a new strain comes out? There's nothing to indicate it's getting worse. Heck, things have basically been fine since the start of 2021 (Situations in Pakistan and Ukraine notwithstanding. Thanks, Brandon.)!). Having the speed force being a entity that takes a form is cool but once you make the speed force a actual character that can have emotions and a life just is weird and takes the whole idea of a universal force away
The most annoying part (as a former fan of the show), is how much potential this season had at the start, as well as in several moments through the season, so many things that seemed to hint at other intresting things or felt like would have a satisfying conclusion, or concept that felt nuanced and complex but were later just dropped or simply resolved without any further exploration or elaboration. It was such a strong contrast to see a promising season that kept falling short constantly in a row, with the mid season finale being the worst showing of this in all of flash history for me. I feel bad for the actors because some of them really do as best as humanly possibly with what they've got, and I seriously hope to see them in other projects because whether it be the writers or showruner or whoever/whatever, whatever is happening behind the scenes, I don't think the writing is gonna recover to the point where it can re-gain my trust again. It'll have it's moments as always, it's solid first episode/episodes, it's false hopes, but they've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt at this point not to be trust worthy.
Imma be real. I expected Ross and Grant TO DESTROY the lightsaber part, but they accepted it pretty well. I am now conerned at their level of mental instability and acceptance at the low bar towards the Flash. Also, I was slightly disappointed they didn't highlight Barry's speed feat towards Reverse Flash. But once again, ROSS AND GRANT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I loved watching them go from a place of excitement to just misery. Quality content!
Watching Ross have a mental breakdown in the last few minutes of this video is both depressing and hilarious which I guess describes all his videos involving the flash.
By the end of this video, when Ross looks at the camera, I'm reminded of an Adam Driver quote. Paraphrasing: "Alot of people think I hate having my picture taken and I do but that's because I look like I'm giving a cry for help"
I stopped watching The Flash right after the show started going on about "forgiveness" and "second chances" right after they fired Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibny) one week after they found tweets from years before he was even hired. Hypocrites.
I stopped watching when the forces of nature started calling Barry and Iris “mom” and “dad” especially considering all of them are their own people who have their own lives, also it was really fucking weird how the Speedforce all of sudden started to see Barry as a “father” even though when it first showed up it was still talking to him in the way a “mother” would. I honestly didn’t really care that Cisco left mainly due to the fact that in my opinion he’s being nothing but a whiny bitch for a while. It’s nice to know Frost’s little arc ended up not mattering in the slightest and she’s just “there” again, I don’t really care about Chester as a character he’s basically Cisco 2.0 so that makes him fine I guess but what made it worse for me was when Cisco and Chester shared a scene together as they were essentially the same guy.
@@KuroAceVT the only thing I know about Season 8 is Joe whining to Barry and Iris about Thawne not only does he come off as a delusional hypocrite but he has leaves them with a ultimatum if they let Thawne die, apparently it will “destroy the family” or some other melodramatic nonsense.
I still remember when season 3 was going on and I thought it was great compared to other shows that I had watched especially when Barry went into the speed force I was freaking out the entire time. However, season 4 picked up and became the worst season for me. I feel like if we had the mystery of who the villain actually is again it could help bring some form of excitement back to the show plus no more talking to the villain or at least nowhere near as much that it has happened.
I was quite the flash apologetic for a long time, but this season's writing reached a new all-time-low for me, and I merely stopped at the half-way point("forces" saga/arc), I can't imagine how I would've felt if I stayed for the GodSpeed stuff. but yea, it's really demoralizing how they kept building up my hopes only to waste potential again and deliver the most basic/lazy conclusion for some really awesome concepts and with some (dare I say) good and capable actors. I guess them firing Heartley Sawyer was the first sign of bad decisions to come.(cus yea, there were tweets that were more then 4 years old, jokes that have aged poorly but that was the point back in the day, he definitely had changed ever since and they didn't even warn him first or give him one pass even if he publicly apologized, which really makes the whole "redemption/second-chances" message of most of the flash feel extremely hypocritical and beyond dishonest now).
The Godspeed part has more redeeming qualities, but in the end Godspeed himself wasn't a good villain and there are lots of plots crammed there to compensate for COVID Restrictions™️.
@@bigcreator2084 But why cram so much stuff into a single season? Wouldn't Covid restrictions mean they could do less in a season? And speaking of Covid... Can we stop making such a big deal out of it now? Because if you look anywhere else besides the areas where people are saying the virus is bad, the virus isn't that big a deal anymore.
I love watching these. I gave up on The Flash after Barry got really into wanting to have his foster sister as a girlfriend. I don't care if it's fine, I think any relationship where the girl could call me her brother and mean it, is too weird for me to keep watching it unfold. Your reviews keep reminding me of all the time I haven't wasted. Thank you for that.
Thank you thank you thank you. There are MANY reasons the show went downhill, but it still boggles my mind how they keep going through with the whole Barry x Iris thing after establishing them as a foster family. I do not care about "they're not blood-related" because that throws out the family relations of MANY people and only leads to a road downhill. I forget exactly how Barry and Iris' family relationship as kids was portrayed in the show, but I got the feeling that Barry always saw Iris' dad as his dad too. I guess the writers got themselves too deep in, what with Iris being an actual character in the comics, and the cast suddenly going "Wait, isn't this really weird?" would make the people who like the relationship REAL angry.
Except they were never brother and sister He had a crush on her before he moved in with them and boys and girls tend to keep a certain distance. Also went to college at 18. They were friends through childhood not siblings
Thinking about it now I feel like the show just went in the wrong direction, most episodes you don't even remember the fact that Barry is a CSI. They could've done something in the same way Lucifer's plot lines work where you spend episodes actually investigating crimes and his speed helps in doing so and also fighting the villains in the end instead of all the side character drama and plots that lead nowhere.
I respect you for getting this far with the Flash. I started losing interest after they spent the whole of season 3 trying to convince us that Savitar wasn't Barry only for him to end up being Barry. S4 was utterly forgettable and I couldn't get passed the first few episodes of s5.
Actually you are wrong about season 3. They gave you clues through out different episodes about who Savitar was. Like when they had the guybin the chair and used him as a link to talk to Savitar. He said he was the future flash, he pointed out things about everyone else as well. Always knowing exactly what team Flash is gonna do, the fact that killer frost trusted him enough to go with him right away. You just had to pay attention to what was being said.
Frankly, I stopped watching all the 'Arrow-verse' shows after 'Crisis on Infinite Earths', it just felt like the end of the franchise to me. I wonder: Now that it seems Ezra Miller may be too much of a trouble maker to keep on as The Flash, could they pull some "Multiverse of Madness" hijinks to replace him with the REAL Flash, Grant Gustin's version? ^_^
That’s a problem with modern day franchises : they don’t know when to end. I feel the same about the MCU after endgame : everything feels like one big ass post credit scene that never ends.
@@endangeredspecies8441 True. To this day I haven't seen Spider-Man: Far From Home. Wow there’s one thing that i thought you guys would rip into and laugh at incredibly hard is the Godspeed Scooby doo villain voice and catchphrases! “Tag your dead”, “infinite velocity will soon be mine” and who could forget “wow flash, that was nuts, so you do like to party” might be the best villain lines I have ever seen and heard
It’s crazy how far this show has fallen, sure the first 2 seasons aren’t masterpieces and they certainly have their own issues but good lord this show is unwatchable at this point, and it seems like they’ve just completely run out of ideas
I’m 31…when I was 16 me and my friend were so excited to hear the flash was getting a show in the coming years….the flash was my favorite character back then. To see where we’re at now with this show and the DC universe flash, man….I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to get invested emotionally.
Man, I jumped ship after the season 3 premiere after they just rushed through Flashpoint in a single episode. It's sad that there was really only one great season of this show, which was the first one.
Thank you for finishing this season so that I didn't have to. (The timeless episode was so stupid that it finally broke me, and I couldn't watch anymore after that 😕)
Psyche could have just stabbed Barry outside of the nightmare and he'd still get stabbed, brain tricking him or not, why not use the time they're hallucinating to kill them?
Not to turn this into a debate, but I guess them firing Hartley Sawyer was the first sign of terrible decisions to come. (cus yea, it was a terrible move from their part that seemed to appease the fans that are only into witch-hunting, the tweets were more then 4 years old, jokes that have aged really poorly, yes, but that was the point back in the day similar to many other comedians who wanted to defy the limits and/or get attention, same with James Gun. the thing about Hartley is that he definitely had changed ever since then, and they didn't even warn him first or give him one pass, even tho he publicly apologized, which really makes the whole "redemption/second-chances" message of most of the flash feel so extremely hypocritical and beyond dishonest now).
Yeah, the entire point of his character is redemption and turning into a hero and then they completely obliterate his character/actor for some edgy joke tweets he made before he was even on the show. The show completely died for me then.
1:04:40 Crisis reset the multiverse, and created another infinite amount of Earth's. It just compressed some of the CW shows which took place in separate universes onto Earth Prime (Supergirl and Black Lightning), and they lost the ability to traverse the multiverse because multiversal physics as they understood it changed. The people on Earth Prime don't know the multiverse still exists (except they probably do by know because when you run out of ideas you re-use old ones, I haven't watched any CW shows post crisis, I just know how crisis worked.) There are still infinite universes and dopplegangers. Earth 2 is Star Girl, Earth 666 is Lucifer, Earth 7 is Titans, Earth 23 is Doom Patrol (I guesstimated the last two numbers, I'm not looking on a wiki, the number doesn't matter) The bullshit here is that Jay Garrick can travel from his universe to this one when physics has changed and the speed force can't enable multiversal travel. But that's an easy handwave excuse away from fixing, especially since there's a new speedforce so you just say that one can travel the multiverse again.
@@capeto08 I’m aware of what Batwoman highlighted, I know doppelgängers cannot exist as long there’s another still there, but The Flash shows us that Jay Garrick lives on Earth Prime, he’s not from an alternate earth. We just have to accept that that’s what the show and the writers decided to do.
Yeah, that's how money works. The Flash costs barely anything to make and is one of the biggest shows on that Network, and Daredevil cost way too much (even before we factor in licensing it from Disney, who was about to make their own rival streaming service) and was just one of many shows on the service.
when something is good but “not viewed enough” it gets cancelled, but when something is mediocre as fuck it gets renewed as it’s an easy show to make. I hate the world, take me out of it please i’m begging.

@@bloodyneptune yeah, but he said those things a decade ago and it seems as though he had really changed. From what I read in a Reddit thread about this mess, the CW: *"told Candice to delete the most offensive tweets, told her to stay off social medial for a few weeks and have the CW_ Flash account block users when they are tagged in this twitter thread. They telling you nothing is going to happen. Candice is good friends with Suzanne Gomez who is the publicist for the Flash, they are already handling it so this situation doesnt gain traction."* Then she has the nerve to complain that the CW didn't do enough to protect her from fans at the start, when her casting caused "racist trolls" to complain because another ginger character was blackwashed #redheaderasure The Arrowverse does it a lot, with redheads Jimmy Olsen & Hawkgirl becoming black too... It's not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have a ginger or 2 around; ya know, to diversify the background and all. Red lives matter!
A show I LOVED in the 1st 3 seasons, now I find unwatchable...I see the CW has a very strong habit of running shows way past the expiration date. ARROW, FLASH, SUPERNATURAL, SUPERGIRL, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW...All shows I loved in the beginning, I MEAN LOVED (well SUPERGIRL I tolerated until the 3rd season), but all went downhill after the 3rd season. I see it coming for SUPERMAN & LOIS, honestly, why is BATWOMAN even still on??? IT'S IN IT'S 3RD SEASON...Is someone watching that shit? That Ralph goodbye was so pathetic, the CW seriously couldn't have Hartley Sawyer come in for ONE scene to say a goodbye, I couldn't believe what they did, I was honestly laughing thinking "this is what you guys do?!"
I feel bad for Grant as S6 is the first season of The Flash that he watched, when S1 and S2 are the only seasons worth watching.
Hypocrites.
That's how these people operate. Idk why you're surprised

I stopped midway season 4
Same

I stopped watching when the forces of nature started calling Barry and Iris “mom” and “dad” especially considering all of them are their own people who have their own lives, also it was really fucking weird how the Speedforce all of sudden started to see Barry as a “father” even though when it first showed up it was still talking to him in the way a “mother” would.
I honestly didn’t really care that Cisco left mainly due to the fact that in my opinion he’s being nothing but a whiny bitch for a while.
It’s nice to know Frost’s little arc ended up not mattering in the slightest and she’s just “there” again,
I don’t really care about Chester as a character he’s basically Cisco 2.0 so that makes him fine I guess but what made it worse for me was when Cisco and Chester shared a scene together as they were essentially the same guy.

And we thought season 3 was bad
and season 4
Loved season 3
I still remember when season 3 was going on and I thought it was great compared to other shows that I had watched especially when Barry went into the speed force I was freaking out the entire time. However, season 4 picked up and became the worst season for me. I feel like if we had the mystery of who the villain actually is again it could help bring some form of excitement back to the show plus no more talking to the villain or at least nowhere near as much that it has happened.
“blood is a liquid” so that’s why i’m failing biology thanks for clarifying that
I was quite the flash apologetic for a long time, but this season's writing reached a new all-time-low for me, and I merely stopped at the half-way point("forces" saga/arc), I can't imagine how I would've felt if I stayed for the GodSpeed stuff.
but yea, it's really demoralizing how they kept building up my hopes only to waste potential again and deliver the most basic/lazy conclusion for some really awesome concepts and with some (dare I say) good and capable actors.
Season 8 was good
The Godspeed part has more redeeming qualities, but in the end Godspeed himself wasn't a good villain and there are lots of plots crammed there to compensate for COVID Restrictions™️.
@@ThePandaaa yes that's true season 8 is a massive step forward, they must have listened to the fans because season 7 was horrible
I still defend season 1 as "good tv" but the decline happens fast.

Some say Joe and Cecile's non-existant child is still laying on it's non-existant crib till this day.
"News Flash, Flash. You're on The Flash." is my new favorite quote
I feel like you've gone so far past the point of misery, that you've gone past infinity and circled back around to enjoying it. My condolences.
"What are you doing step-flash?~"
I don’t get why they couldn’t have Joe be Iris’ uncle who took her in too. It would’ve made the relationship much better hoenstly
Except they were never brother and sister
He had a crush on her before he moved in with them and boys and girls tend to keep a certain distance. Also went to college at 18.
They were friends through childhood not siblings
@@Mainlyeverything I don't consider them real siblings, but it's not like having them grow together was a terrible idea.
When you realize that every major conflict in this show is solved by some form of Barry running in a circle
I discovered this channel today and finished the stuff on the CW about 1 hour ago and got pissed there wasn't anymore CW stuff
@@lordvika2526 I knew he was Savitar, the story was just shit
The family thing was so weird especially considering these people had lives before they were hit with the lightning
Blink twice if CW has you at gunpoint to make you keep going
You are so right! Tom Cavanagh can truly act (so can Grant and a couple of the other actors from season 1 and 2)
The most important thing i got from this video is that Ross just like all of us had the Bionicle dream
I love this new format where the two of you talk about each individual episode in order. I stopped watching after this season myself. But if you make a season 8 video, I’ll watch it to join in on the fun

“Tag your dead”, “infinite velocity will soon be mine” and who could forget “wow flash, that was nuts, so you do like to party” might be the best villain lines I have ever seen and heard
Didn’t he say “come home to daddy” too?
It’s crazy how far this show has fallen, sure the first 2 seasons aren’t masterpieces and they certainly have their own issues but good lord this show is unwatchable at this point, and it seems like they’ve just completely run out of ideas
I’m 31…when I was 16 me and my friend were so excited to hear the flash was getting a show in the coming years….the flash was my favorite character back then. To see where we’re at now with this show and the DC universe flash, man….I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to get invested emotionally.
Grant's dead baby theory still hasn't been debunked and it makes the show a million times more fun to watch any time the baby comes up xD

In the final episode of the season, you've got every member of the Flash-family! Except Wally, Wally's just... gone? I guess?
The tweets were more than 8 years old, and in 2 years I already changed into a different person, IMAGINE HIM WITH 8 FKCING YEARS.
tbh i think if they fired hartley sawyer they should have fired iris actress too shes said way worst stuff
This. He knocked it out the park with elongated man. The cw knew what he was a edgy comedian before they hired him. So fuck SJWS.
Yeah, the entire point of his character is redemption and turning into a hero and then they completely obliterate his character/actor for some edgy joke tweets he made before he was even on the show. The show completely died for me then.
This season almost made me regret giving up on the show in season 6 lol

Crisis reset the multiverse, and created another infinite amount of Earth's. It just compressed some of the CW shows which took place in separate universes onto Earth Prime (Supergirl and Black Lightning), and they lost the ability to traverse the multiverse because multiversal physics as they understood it changed. The people on Earth Prime don't know the multiverse still exists (except they probably do by know because when you run out of ideas you re-use old ones, I haven't watched any CW shows post crisis, I just know how crisis worked.)
There are still infinite universes and dopplegangers. Earth 2 is Star Girl, Earth 666 is Lucifer, Earth 7 is Titans, Earth 23 is Doom Patrol (I guesstimated the last two numbers, I'm not looking on a wiki, the number doesn't matter)
The bullshit here is that Jay Garrick can travel from his universe to this one when physics has changed and the speed force can't enable multiversal travel. But that's an easy handwave excuse away from fixing, especially since there's a new speedforce so you just say that one can travel the multiverse again.
Shouldn’t they be wondering how Jay is actually there then if they don’t know the multiverse is still a thing?
Jay didn’t travel from his universe, he’s on Earth Prime now, the episode even showed he lives in Keystone City, he’s not on a separate Earth.
@@genericscout5473 Batwoman hammer on the idea that there cant be no dopplegangers from former earths. So Jay Should be another person.
I can't believe this show is confirmed for 10 seasons but shows like daredevil get canceled after 3
Yeah, that's how money works.
This show is awesome F off
I’ll even go as far to say season 5 was interesting, with Nora going back and forth in time to Thawne then to Barry. Right after that I was done.
I love when Wells sacrificed himself for the speed force and then like two episodes later they just had to get rid of it for no reason 💀
I like how the Grant’s hairstyle becomes more insane after another Flash season review….
The reason this season made me fully give up on the show was because i really liked Ralph and not only did they have him leave the show, but they weren’t even respectful about it
Well, the actor wasn't super respectful with all those rape jokes he made, or the other racist/homophobic/sexist tweets he made so
@@bloodyneptune yeah, but he said those things a decade ago and it seems as though he had really changed. @@bloodyneptune But Candice Patton mocking homeless and trans people got ignored.
@@Xehanort10 - Damn, I didn't know about that, and after checking it out... oof. She's lucky to be a black female in a leading role, had she been a white male in a smaller role she would have been kicked out instead of being protected by the CW.

*"told Candice to delete the most offensive tweets, told her to stay off social medial for a few weeks and have the CW_ Flash account block users when they are tagged in this twitter thread. They telling you nothing is going to happen. Candice is good friends with Suzanne Gomez who is the publicist for the Flash, they are already handling it so this situation doesnt gain traction."*
