Hello Guga! Guys, I'm Aussie..and you know that means BBQ awesomeness. I'd like to do a video for/with you... Just for your channel. I'll show you how we make a BBQ from a 44gal drum, start to finish. Welding, legs, air vents, full supports, removable racks, full flu with brake... rotisserie added also. All I'd like is a A5 wagyu steak in return...to cook on it in a follow up. I can show you one I made previously. Im concentrated on beer keg fire pits, BBQ, and smokers now. Moving house, so on the back burner, but close. Have 8 going atm.
Let me know if we can email if you are interested
Stainless kegs offer so much variety to build all kinds of cookers
🧐 MY GOOD LAD, LET US DRY AGE WITH CAVIAR!!! 🐠
Classier than EASY CHEESE. And loads of MSG goodness! Just keep it cold ❄ 🌨 ☃ to keep it fresh.
GO GUGA GO! GO GUGA GO!
I’m excited, I’ve seen this video suggested in the comments a few times.
Imagine if this became a series
Who knows, maybe Evan could get involved
Maybe Emilio
Guga being the guest and immediately breaking his own "no swearing" rule is priceless.
exactly
Haha right? So true. Great comment
He's outta control!
That's because he's not gonna edit it, it's revenge xD
They both looked good...I'm going to try the potatoes for sure.
With or without the coke?
@@stefankok7962 with obv cmon my guy🙄
I'm gonna make these for my Christmas dinner.
@@stefankok7962 Honestly, the coke is the unique factor in the potato recipie. It's worth giving it a shot once. IF you hate it, never again. Based on what they're saying, it's good. Using Sodas in cooking has uses.
@@lucielm I wonder how Sprite would work in Ceviche
I love how genuine you all are. You can tell you all love each other and just want each other to do great!
Steak and potatoes hands down! The bacon looked amazing and the elote made my mouth water, but traditional all the way for me
Elote is just crazy good 😊
I gotta go with Angel and the classic way with garlic and thyme.
x2 from me. Garlic and thyme on steak are phenomenal
Same, I do admit the Maumau's looked really good, but I like the flavor of the steak more than bacon.
Same for me, I'm a big fan off garlic and not very hot on bacon so it's an easy choice.
didn't expect to see you here lul
I don't like bacon wrapped filets, and I am a corn purist. Coca cola, though, is so good mixed like that, and the steak is perfect. I have to side with Angel on this one, too - even though I don't want to.
The winner was definitely Guga.
Not just because of the food but because he has 2 sidekicks on his channels that are absolutely a delight to watch. Really enjoyed watching them take center stage here. I've watched his channels for years and you can see both Angel and Mau Mau have worked really hard to develop their personalities on screen. Much harder than most people probably realize.
@@plasmac9 man i agree with every word you said.
A slice of guga bacon
I'm going to have to go with Angel on this one 😁😁 that steak looked so good especially with the potatoes...
I'll take Angel's steak and Maumau's side dish
Yup same here
give me both steaks and keep the side dishes :P
They both did a killer job - We need more of these challenges!
Right it was funny watching them good around, when maumau hit angel with the pan🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Agree!
Agreed
YES! That was just reound 1! It ended in a tie, I'd like to see a best of 5 series!
I'd definitely watch this as a series
Maumau’s idea with the bacon flavor just hits different, would like to try that. Props to both guys for great execution!
that corn be looking good too. bacon ftw!
@@Rmaccc facts my sister made it a few months ago it was amazing asf bro (the corn)
I love the energy these bois are radiating. So glad I found this channel.
Man, I have watched these guys for ages now. Like how wholesome and nice are they, proper makes me happy!!! Plus the food, fml I'm jealous
seeing guga being causal and cursing give this a different vibe than the other videos, this one's so funny lol
Yeah I think they normally curse without worry and clean it up for the videos.
The most relaxing and authentic food battle I ever wittnest, had a lot of fun.
Really like the fact, that there is no intense trash talk and epic musik all over the video, but just 2 guys showing what they are cooking :-)
Witnessed*
I honestly wouldn't be able to choose one over the other since they are so different. It would all come down to what I'm in the mood for at the time. To me a steak with flavor added and a "normal" steak are two totally different things. I love food but I also love variety and like my meals to go from one extreme to another sometimes. (such as lunch one day vs the next)
I know I'm a year late, but here's my vote. Angel's steak (if I wanted to taste bacon I'd eat bacon) and Mau Mau's side. (Elote is awesome and I don't get the chance to eat it enough.)
I'm late too and that's exactly my opinion as well
In complete agreement. Late to the party and would go for Angel's steak and Maumau's side.
ROFL. Obviously you're an uncultured individual who has never eaten at a resturant above cheap greasy spoon. Bacon wrapped filet is quite common in resturants that aren't designed for the paupers of the world.
Let's goooo! Didn't think Guga would pump out this video this quickly.
Best type of morning surprise. Well, pretty much the best haha.
Aunt may dies
@@coolmeransom 😩
I'd go with Angel's because the other steak looked unevenly cooked. Angels looked perfectly medium rare on each side throughout. However, I would like to try the elotes since I've never tried it authentic before.
Maumau's steak was rare on one side medium on the other. Angel did the right thing when he pan basted it in the cast iron then smoked it indirect. The bacon was too much and it probably didn't help to get an even cook in the middle, a good filet should stand on its own.
I agree.
It’s not about colour it’s about temp it could be red but if it’s 135 it’s medium rare
It’s cause its still hot and the sliced pieces together heats up the steak. Hard to explain but I see it sometimes when I cut steak and the sliced pieces are next to each other but still medium rare though and his was cooked right.
The only problem with his elotes is that he used sweet corn, aside from that, pretty good.
Give us all the goofy videos of everyone! Such amazing content! Love the different vibe but still with amazing foods and production.
I like how much thought and creativity went into mau mau’s dish. If i were to choose only one to try, it would be his. But I’m so proud of my boy angel. The execution that went into the dish had finesse. It exceeded my expectations. So my vote will go to Angel.
I’m going with Angel on this one, his cross section was more even and those potatoes looked 🔥!
Team potatoes
I’d say Angel’s combo was the winner of this one, but also Mau Mau’s combo was perfect! I’d really love this to become an actual segment in the Chanel!!!
Love this challenge, you two need to do this more and make guga some dinner! lol
Just a plain fun Video!!! Thank you guys!
Angel wins this one. (Nothing like the traditional steak AND potato) He has learned his lessons well.
This should be a regular segment!!
"traditional" lmao its made with coca cola
@@albertocarrilho5839 I meant that, but I didn't formulate it well. Fixed.
@@albertocarrilho5839 its literally saying both,i got what he meant just thought it was funny,dumnuts...
MauMau wins the side dish 10 to 9.5.
Angel wins with the traditional approach 10 to 9.5.
Awesome job by them both!!! And love how much fun they have together. That’s family!
Angel wins the steak angle of this competition, barely.
I agree with those statements
Angel won both in my eyes. I also don't really care for corn.
By their responses that seems to be the verdict. You can hear it in their voices =)
That’s how I judged it too.
Nice to see Guga get to sit back and enjoy the good food. Fun episode guys.
This channel is so wholesome. I love it.
Finally Mau Mau listens to the community and it’s going to cook Angel
*He's
What is he, a table? lol
@@marwan4358 he isn’t?
This should be a regular segment on the channel Guga, so entertaining and fun to watch
I will have both versions. Can already imagine how tasty the two styles are. Yum!
@guga food’s please do more of these challenges! & include Guga in the challenges!
I'm going for Mau Mau, he took a risk and made something totally different, he's the winner to me. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Gonna thank the guy who kept asking Guga to do this for months
More vids like this, it was very entertaining!
I’ve always loved angel being brought on the show, these 3 guys are great! :)
I'm with Angel. I would like to try the Bacon steak but if I was going to get a steak cooked by you guys I'd want to see what you can get out of a traditional style first more than anything. I like setting the base.
That intro was hilarious! Great job guys!🤘Team Angel 😇
I love that you guys were in sweatshirts at 60deg.... I was out doing things around the yard today (moving the camper, etc) in shorts and a tee shirt at 55deg. Love the video and the content overall. Can't wait to start trying things. Also, gotta go with Angel's approach on the steak but that elote looks amazing!
Angels. Definitely. That looks amazing
When Angel creates his own rub recipe, he's gotta call it angel dust
I'd wanna eat Angel's version. Presentation is just great and I bet side-dish goes great with the steak!
Both steaks and both sides because there's no way I could choose, it all looks so delicious!!!
love this video!
1:46 I haven’t seen that kitchen in ages! Anyone else remember them eating there?
ahah yes! i remember when they first started uploading on their channel
Yup
Go back far enough, they ate at the office, Angel wasn't there yet,, and they ate on paper plates. The nostalgia!
I usually trend towards the traditional flavored steak. So for this one, I'd have to give it to Angel.
@@cameronbungay2841 by looks?
@@cameronbungay2841 he literally said in the video to comment who would win
@@cameronbungay2841 Looks like I've found the smooth brain
I couldn't decide. They both look GREAT
This was actually a fan suggestion in another video, nice of you to actually do it lol
This is amazing! Maybe next time let Guga guess who cooked the dish. :)
I second this, should have been a blind taste test
Angel: “I say that is enough talking, and let’s do it.”
Guga: Am I joke to you?
😂😂
I love this trio, they remind me of Me and my friends lmao
Do more of this this is epic👍👍👍👍
Thank you Guga! This is what I want from a long time ago!!! Great job man😂👍
Both servings looked amazingly delicious and well presented. Maumau wins the side dish with his elotes.
However, this is about the steak and Angel had the classic edge, with Maumau's adventurous bacon-basted steak losing out by a millimetre.
Yeah, i think that in the side dish maumau wins bc angel put that coke on the potatos and made him lose against the elotes for not keeping it traditionally. But then with the stakes angel did it simple and traditonally and for me, he won bc of the stake, but damn it was close
@@Arturu420 no I think maumau wins Bcs although what u said is right but maumau is right a fillet Mignon really doesn’t have any flavour so the bacon was a good add so for side dishes angel 6.5/10 maumau 9.5/10 ( it would’ve been a 10/10 if he torched the mayo quickly with a flamethrower before he added the tajin and steaks angel is a 8.5/10 and maumau is a 9/10
I meant 7.5/10 for angel’s steak and 8/10 for maumau’s steak*:)
That was a lot of fun to watch. and, holy smokes.. you used the kitchen!
i like how they both explain their ways of cooking the steak. i love both cooking style but gotta give the win to angel just for presentation. therefore, he redeem himself from dry age
If I’m picking one I’m definitely going with Angel’s, I think the combination of steak and potatoes is unmatched plus I’m really curious how that coke butter worcestershire mix tastes
Potatoes and steak are definitely an amazing classic but same goes with some good ol elote and carne asada if you ever been to a mexican cookout 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Bacon wrapped filet mignon is always a great surprise and elote chefs kiss.
man this video is nice and enjoyable
As a Canadian its mind blowing that someone could consider 16° Celsius freezing
So hear me out, Florida is kind of tropical, it's always hot there, it doesn't not rain or snow a lot there. That is why they are feeling so cold for 60° Fahrenheit, but if you do want to compare then compare it with Mid-West states like Illinois or Michigan. Cause for us who live in New York, 60° is nothing. Currently it's 29° degrees and it's just the start.
thats a british summer lol
Here in Athens, Greece it has like 8° degrees
Agreed... Northern Ontario here.. we would be breaking out the shorts here.
@@Muzammil_Hussain0123 It rains a lot in Florida, it just doesn't snow
I'm always up for something out of a box, so I vote Mamao. Besides, his side dish looks so delicious.
Here in Brazil we actually have a dish that's basically what maumau did. We call it "Medalhão", and it is that same cut of filet mignon wrapped on its side with bacon, though also using the fat isn't standard practice. We also do the same with chicken and some vegetables, like potatoes, often grilling them instead.
Just sharing, not implying he didn't think this on his own.
@@ZanderSabbag
Sounds good.
He went off the wall so I like his
why am i addicted to watching guga
I see my guy angel is hittin the weights ✌️ get em bro 💯
No matter how much I love Mau Mau, no Filet-Mignon Version beats the traditional one. Lets go Angel!
Can you do this as a weekly show??? Or like once a month? Guga you are wonderful but so are your companions and they shine in this video! You should get them to face off with the same recipes that you come up with and see which one tastes best or comes the closest to your recipe!
Steak and potatoes is an absolute classic! You can’t go wrong with that!
On the other hand, cooking filet mignon in bacon fat with corn as a side dish is excellent as well. The sweetness of the pozole (corn) matches well with the steak!
Both meals go well with beer 🍺 or wine 🍷!
I’m sorry but this filet mignon battle is a stalemate! They both did a great job!
The longer i watch this. The more i get the vibes of guga as a dad leaving house for mere hour. And their sons just go cooking competition.
I vote for Angel. His was more from scratch. Great episode I laughed a lot.
Evolution of Angel's meat proficiency:
1. Eat the meat
2. Prepare the meat
3. Become the meat
Also when Angel mentioned his sauce, it triggered flashbacks to Guga making sauce out of the sous vide meat juices.
Hola Guga! Can you do a Salt vs ADOBO steak seasoning challenge!? Your videos are great content thank you so much!
I could not pick on this one. I did make the potatoes and the family loved them. Thanks for the recipe.
TL;DR: Angel
Judging by my mind’s palate, I would prefer Angel’s. It highlights the taste of the beef (even though filet mignon is probably the least beefy tasting cut of beef) with the seasonings and cooking method.
I am not a fan of the bacon-wrapped filet, and then cooking it in bacon grease further masks the beef flavor. If I want an ultra-tender cut of meat with a bacony flavor, I’ll sear up some pork belly.
All of that being said, both Angel and Mau Mau did a fantastic job. Loved seeing the friendly rivalry and camaraderie between them. I’m gonna be trying out that Elote recipe soon!
Great video!
Yeah I agree. I was thinking about whether Mau Mau's method would kinda lose the point of it being a steak if the flavor intensification reduces any beefiness to it.
damn you wrote a full on essay
I’d side with Maumau, I believe his outside of the box thinking and execution really edged the win for me. Because honestly who hasn’t had a traditional steak? not knocking angels execution either though because it was done to the book. But if maumau would have gone the same classic route we’d be seeing two traditional fillet mignons and what’s the fun in that lol Cheers two both teams and Guga of course.
Me too
He didn’t rest the steak though, so there is just a huge pool of blood under his steak
@@jamieleung709 Definitely not blood, but more so the combination of bacon grease and myoglobin. Have you ever cooked before? Lol
@@itseddieman you’re right that it’s not blood but I think he meant the juices
The bacon wrapped filet mignon is 100% standard. It was even a trope in 90s TV.
Great video guys, you need to try the carpet bag steak, fillet wrapped in bacon with oyster stuffed inside, old Australian favourite,
"You put coca cola on this sheet?" Guga sounded like a gangster on that one lmao.
The "steaks" are high when you are in a competition that includes a $200 cut, no pressure!! 🥴
No- cmon now
This is so wholesome. Having sidekick friends like this in life is a blessing.. 🙌
I wanna eat both... they both look amazing! But to pick a winner for me comes down to which looks most appealing to to eat. Gotta pick Angel just because they way it was plated made it look more appetizing
I'm a fan of butter and steak... and that corn sure does look amazing!
Although both seemed like excellent ideas, I'd have to go with Angel's version, as Filet Mignon, I believe, is rather subtle in flavour, and I suspect the bacon would take it over, whereas Angel's thyme and garlic would help bring out the flavour already there.
I agree that angels seemed better, but I dont think that amount of thin bacon would cover the filets flavor too much
@@indicaking It's more the fact that he also cooked it in bacon grease that worried me.
@@ArbitraryEverything yeah, didnt think about that
Personally, I think Angel won this challenge. The cook on his steak was a perfect rare all the way through, although a nicer sear would have been nice. Mau Mau's steak was well done on one side and rare on the other side. I also feel that slathering a steak that expensive in bacon was disrespectful to the meat. Good beef doesn't need bacon.
Just because it's not needed doesn't mean that it isn't good.
@@alexramos7708 Fair enough haha
This trio are the best entertainers on youtube and do an amazing cooking show,,,,
Hey Guga! It's me again. I'm the same guy that brouy you the jerk seasoning idea to beef and now I'm back with another one.
I'm going to recommend to you a sauce that goes perfectly with an extremely sharp cheddar cheese. This sauce I believe has enough acidity that you should be able to use a tenderizer and even dry age. The flavor however is phenomenal. It is called "BRANSTON PICKLE". This sauce has a lovely flavor that I'm confident you'll enjoy. Please try this out and let me know how it works out for you.
If I’m at a restaurant and these 2 plates cost the same, coming with their designated sides that are not modifiable, I’m going with maumau’s meal. The filets both look/sound awesome but the elote did it for me
Gotta go with angel’s steak. I prefer the traditional presentation especially with a $200 steak. I would definitely eat both with no hesitation!
Potatoes and Steak just can't go wrong. I would love to try the bacon one but the original way is the best
They both have learned from the best. How could they do any less than perfection?
I would want Maumau’s steak with Angel’s side. If I had to order the meal with no changes as-is, I’d order Angel’s strictly because I hate mayo. Lose the mayo, and I’ll order Maumau’s.
Is would actually choose the opposite
@@reeseebersole7973 both meals were so well-done that there is no wrong answer. It's like on Top Chef where they are forced to nitpick, because there were no mistakes.
Sounds like someone's never had homemade mayo.
mayo hater...
Agree mayo is gross but you don't taste mayo at all on elotes
Guga, You were the Winner because You got to Taste both of these Delicious dishes and didn't have to do a thing!! 👌👍😋😋😎
Plz make more challenge videos with and with out Guga it's fun watching Guga judge too.
I'll go with Angel. The potatoes and steak just looked amazing. That said, I'll have everything that was cooked over there!!
Going with Angel on this one. Traditional 🥩
Such a good video brothas, awesome to see guga judge something he didn't do 🤣
Btw gotta try that bacon style lol, just because it's didfferent
Spelling is terrible🤣🤦♂️
i often do the classic one so i really should try the mau mau's steak with bacon it seems very good
Gotta go with Angel's; butter + thyme, and basting over charcoal = perfect filet.
Angel knows what's he's doing, cause he learns from you, A LOT
Mao Mao's Filet looks tasty as hell 🔥
This episode was my favorite
Guga I would love to see you make beef goulash !
Guga you need to start doing these challenges frequently. Its very interesting to see other peoples takes on different dishes.
