    Currently making this for my niece for her birthday. I sent her several different playlists to choose a hat from and she loved this one. I am enjoying making it too. This is for sure beginner friendly! I have a feeling I'll be making myself this hat too.

    This was easy and fun to make. I've already made three of these this week. I've just learned the cable stitch and used the same style brim here with the cable stitch on one of them. So cute.

      Wow! You made 3?! We created a monster! ;) The brim with the cable stitch must be nice too :) Thanks for your comment!

    This is the first video I watched when trying to learn to knit (right after xmas, 2013), when I only had straight needles. So I made a scarf, was proudof myself, and last week, I finally got the circle loom set and new yarn. I jumped right on this video. So far, I have just started the first row of purl/knit. It's so much fun!! Thank you for making this tutorial. Can't wait to finish!!

My Daughter took off w/one and my husband left w/one too!!!! This one that I am making currently I will upload. It will match the scarf that I made for her. I have just been introduced to looming and sewing. LOVING IT!! TY for your reply. VjS

    I just now finished my first loom hat! Thanks for the great pattern and very clear instructions. I used bulky yarn and added a small stitch to fix the slouch to the lower back of the hat so the slouch wouldn't move. I'm very pleased with the results!!

    I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to figure out how to use my knitting looms without your videos! I've knitted 5 different hats so far in the last couple weeks and next I will try some of your non-hat projects. ^_^ Thank you so very much for your tutorials!! People who don't knit are super impressed with the results, but they don't know how easy it is/was with tutorials like these, hehehe ;D ^___^

    Hi! I have been working on a basket weave blanket for months and I just started getting into looms, I found this tutorial and thought! AWESOME! I can make a hat that matches my blanket..... I am on day 3 of working and unraveling the small amount of work I've started. I just can't seem to get it right, it took me all day to finally get past making the rim and then I just could not get the weave right. But I won't give up! Thank you so much, I have liked some of your tutorials already and I am so excited to start on them!

    Hi Liam Thibeault ! :) The 40 peg loom is perfecto for this pattern. Since 40 is multiple of 8, you will perfectly complete the pattern of 4 purl - 4 knit (and the pattern of 4 knit - 4 purl) at the end of each round (instead of having 1 extra peg at the end, which is our case). We first work 4 rounds doing "4 purl - 4 knit" and then, after the forth round, we do 4 rounds more doing the opposite ("4 knit - 4 purl"). That's why you see 4 knits after the 4th round. After the 8th round, then we go back to "4 purl - 4 knit", and so on... :) Hope this helps!

    • @liamthibeault38
      @liamthibeault38 9 років тому

      Yes, but what I mean is after the fourth round of say, the four purl- four knit, then having to switch to the other, wouldn't that make a consecutive row of eight knit stitches, because you ended the previous round with four knit, and started the new round on the alternate pattern with four knit?

    Hi Skylar McLain! Try to work not too tightly (you can ensure you leave a loop loose enough by pulling it a little bit after you have made it). Sometimes we pull too much the working yarn and the loops we leave on the pegs (and we find in the next rounds) become too tight). Hope this helps!

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  10 років тому

      A Collins actually this tutorial is better for a 40 peg loom than for a 41 (you won't need to knit any extra peg at the end of the round). In case you want it without the brim, you just cast on (follow directions until minute 01:26) and then go directly to minute 3:33 and keep working from there. Hope this helps :)

    Hi Raagavi Manivannan ! :) Yes, it's okey, but better do "3 knit - 3 purl" and "3 purl - 3 knit" in your case (instead of "4 knit - 4 purl" and "4 purl - 4 knit").

    I'm going to try and translate this into a scarf tonight. Would you have any tips? I've already made 3 if this pattern, I love it!

      Janine Hale great! We'd love to see your results (your 3 hats and your scarf!), feel free to send us pictures to info@tuteate.com if you want :) We'll try to show how to make a scarf that matches this hat in a future video tutorial.

    As I'm making this, I'm noticing it's getting super hard to pull the yarn over the pegs. Are you just making it look easy or am I doing something wrong?

    Hello :) I am using a 36 pegged loom, so instead of doing 4:4 I'm doing 3:3 with the purl and knit stitches, but I was just wondering if instead of doing 3 purl:3 knit for 4 rounds if I should do it for 3 before alternating to 3 knit: 3 purl. Thanks so much!

      Hi Justine! :) Both options are okay, you can do it for 4 rounds or for 3, both will look nice (we worked it for 4 rounds because we thought we would get squares of stitches, but they actually result in rectangles).

    Hey...love, love, love your patterns for your projects. So i was wondering some how when i counted my largest round loom is 41 pegs. The question is can i still make a hat like this on a 41 peg loom or no?

      Lizzy Sanders hi! Yes you can :) (actually we are using a 41 peg loom on this video tutorial)

    Is there any difference between knitting each peg one at a time or wrapping the whole round in one go? I find the second faster and can't see an appreciable difference but I am pretty new to this. Thanks and well done on an easy to follow tutorial

    I have a 30 peg loom and am making this for a nine year old. Would I make the hat as long as you do in the video?
