Seriously. I was like, "Man, I don't have one TENTH his skill. There's always that little remnant that just keeps eluding the shovel till you just don't care anymore."
Shit will happen soo many times. I just did my 20th + oil change and accidentally knocked off the funnel and the bug jug of old oil tipped over. Huge mess. Even trying to clean rhis mess up for 2 days with different techniques. I've heard ofnusing brake cleaner and cat litter but never tried it. Guess I'll give it a go
Awesome Glenn!!! I just tried it after spending half an hour looking at other "solutions". It is FRIGGEN' AWESOME!!! Total cost was less than $3.00 and it took less than 2 minutes from start to finish!!! Now I have 3 clean white spots in my garage that are cleaner than the rest of the garage, lol. Thanks again...
Dude I mean, come on - the Mystery Machine was already more than enough, but you just saved me so much time and $$$ - thanks brother, this was completely badass, appreciate it!
AWESOME!!!!!!! Never though to use carb cleaner and the kitty litter is a great way instead of washing this chemical down the driveway with the hose and risking burning the grass and polluting. Many thanks. Never thought I would get excited about cleaning the garage floor.
OK, it must be said almost every other video for this issue is crap and a waste of time, especially those with supposed solutions with "guaranteed" results, thank you, very clear before, how-to and after. Much appreciated.
Used kitty litter in the Army but never knew about the carb cleaner. Just moved into an old house that has stains in the garage. Doing this very soon. Thank you!
It works good for standing oil, maybe workes a little for stains the only way to get oil out deep into the concrete will he heat, steam, and detergent. . Good Luck Glenn
I love seeing your Ford van! I had one in the late 60's and loved the "3 on the tree" manual transmission! I miss the driver position and working that shifter! Thank you for the cleaning tip.
I still have 3 vehicles with 3 speeds on the column. My Van, my 1956 F100 has a 3 speed overdrive and NY 1966 F100 has a 3 speed, soon to have a 3 speed overdrive too. My wife likes the trucks as they gave a bench seat and a flatter floor and she can sit in the center beside me, you can't do that in any other rig.
I am looking for an easy and fast options to clean/prep my garage floor to apply Rust-Oleum Rocksolid. Do you recommend me to do this as etching? Or would be a wrong idea?
My oil stain is on my driveway. I am finding that the break cleaner evaporates before I can get the kitty litter on it. Have used 1.5 cans of break cleaner but its long gone when I start scrubbing.
Yes it will work, but not nearly as fast. You will need to use much more spray, then broom it into the stain the cover it with cat litter or fresh sweep and let it absorb the liquid for 10 to 15 min.
Does it matter if the brake clean is fast drying? I have some orillys brake parts cleaner non chlorinated ultra low Voc. I used it and I can still see the stain clearly and this just happened to me last night.
My goal is to keep my concrete work surface clean and safe. This works well for that. My Barn was built in 1947 and has more stains than can ever be cleaned. If you keep your concrete sealed, then the stain will stay near the surface. Mine would be super deep and likely not cleanable. To remove stains will take a combination of heat, detergents, and likely water pressure to puch cleaners deep into the concrete, then suck out the stain. Likely not worth the effort... good luck Glenn
Saw this yesterday, tried this morning. Harley's must have a Special Kind of Funk. Yea, the stains lightened up a bit, but with the surrounding concrete cleaning, the stains stand out just the same. So now I'm left with a new toy for night time. A 90% full can of BrakeClean, and a Bic Lighter.
I have not done a video on removing oil stains from concrete. My 80 year old barn would be a challah ge of a lifetime if I were to embark on a journey to remove all the oil stains it has seen for nearly a century. However the surface is safe to walk on as all the oil has been removed. Good luck in your quest to remove oil stains, I would rather start in on another project then spend time trying to keep my shop floor stain free. Cheers
"Smooth" concrete means "sealed"concrete with the oil is sitting on the surface of the concrete so any degreaser or even dish soap would remove the oil stain. The difficult oil stain to remove is on unsealed concrete where the oil has been absorbed into the concrete.
I'm getting ready to grind my sealed concrete floors for epoxy floors. I have some oil stains ....will concrete grinder alone be good enough and remove the oil ?
doesnt matter, works on that one too. I have rough asphalt in my garage, cant even use a rag to clean because its just tears the rag into pieces, but a little brake cleaner and kitty liter and bam no oil.
Should have played a recording of a minuet during the minute. It would have matched the mis-spelled title of this video perfectly. Nice job though. There's a lot of garbage videos on this subject. Yours seemed like the best solution.
This video is about removing oil off the floor. Removing stains off a concrete floor was not covered here. My Barn was built in 1947, removing all the stains is not possible. Good luck! Glenn
My barn was built in 1947 and is full of vehicles and things that leak oil. There is no reason for me to make any attempt to restore the concrete to pristine condition. I do however need to keep the surface safe a free of oil slicks.
Just did this and can confirm it works. My oil stains had been there for years and this worked like a charm.
3:30 amazing shovel work!👍
Totally. I just push shit around the the garage. Lol.
Seriously. I was like, "Man, I don't have one TENTH his skill. There's always that little remnant that just keeps eluding the shovel till you just don't care anymore."
Had to go through a dozen videos before running into urs. By far the best, thanks for the vid.

It worked?
@@XxAverageJoexX it did 👍
Just did my first oil change ever and it got a lil messy on the concrete lol. This video saved me from getting in trouble 😂😂😂
Same lmao

Nice the easiest technique. I learned this trick in the Army.

You did a fantastic job, today I have done the same and my garage is so clean now.
Thanks
Do you wash it after?
Gave a like right off the hop for the mystery machine...damn glad I stayed for the result. WOW 🤩
Hey...looked at a couple of vids, one including coke a cola....outta all of them this seems to be the best...many thx

Pretty sure I just fell in love with this man 🤣
You’re a wizard my brother. Thank you!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Sir! An old problem that has been plaguing me.
you sir, are a genius!
Off to the Dollar Store!
Holy cow. Didn't expect it to work that well.
Great job . Slick shovel work too 😁
Right on my son just bought a house his driveway has oil stains I have heard of the cat litter trick after seeing you do it I will try it thank you
That's a fantastic tip. Would WD40 be a good enough substitute for the brake cleaner?
No... WD is oil...
Nothing wrong with a little old school techniques which still work today!
You're da man!! great job! Impressed!
3:31 that was CLEAN asf !!
Looking to do some work on my own car, searched this before i messed up the parking of my house. It isn't the big issue as i thought it would be.
Hater here - thank you for cleaning up your mess.
Best method yet!
Youre a magician! Does this work for transmission fluid stains?
Gonna give this a try later. Looks like it produces great results. Thanks!
Wow!!! I’ll have to try this!! thank you❤🙏🎉
Thanks for the quick amazing easy clean up!
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I'll try it on on mine (You made me feel confident that it will be an easy fix. Thank you!) Cheers!
I wouldn't laugh if you were dressed up like Gandalf....that's some magic you just did.
You deserve 10 "virtual" Scooby Snacks for this video! Def. going to try this! Thnx
Would this work on old oil that's been sitting there?
Did you try it? And did it work?

I cant believe it's so easy. Running to the store now to get some kitty litter and brake cleaner.
driving that van.. and your voice also kinda sounds like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

Great work!
Will this work on hydraulic fluid ? Thanks
Yes it will
So glad I found this video, Magic!
All the oil removal vids with single use products and the multitasker of brake clean and cat litter wins… I have both on hand already …😊
hey ..I love your van!
Does it also work on asphalt? Agree with all the comments. Great video. Very informative. Love the van.
Excellent vid!!!
My oil stain is on my driveway. I am finding that the break cleaner evaporates before I can get the kitty litter on it. Have used 1.5 cans of break cleaner but its long gone when I start scrubbing.
Same with me, I used an ez-up and did it later in the afternoon. Worked great
Try gum out carburetor cleaner that won't be evaporated as quick as brake cleaner
What if i had a rough flooring? You think it will work? Thanks

STAGGERINGLY GOOD JOB!
Thanks, look forward to trying this. Let me guess, you have a great Dane, right?
LOL... no, but I have lots of pictures of them taken with the van. I have a photographer coming with an actress for a photo shoot on monday.
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
will any litter do or does it have to be a specific type
I get mine at the Dollar store, anything else might even be better than what I use. Good luck.
Glenn
Would this work on fat/oil marks on pavers around the bbq?
Pavers, are pores so it may leave the Stain but will get all the surface oil off.
Thanks for the great video! Can’t wait to try it soon!
My driveway isn't smooth
Thumbs up for the Scooby van!!
Thanks I used the brake cleaner and comet because I didn't have kitty litter and had no reason to buy any.It cleaned up my grease spots easily.

What kind of producy you used. Does it work for ceramic?
That just looks like fine kitty litter dust covering it. Hose it off and tell us if the stain is gone or not.

I like it! Picasso!
What is in the five gallon bucket?
Please whats the name of the stuff in the bucket
Cheap cat littler from the dollar store...
Why not wash it after?
Freddy needs to put new gaskets in the Mystery machine!
Cat litter is what we use at gastations all the time for spills.

Brake cleaner or carburetor cleaner🤔⁉️
Either, brake clean #1 but both work.

What happens when you wet that spot? Does the stain reappear?
My video is not about removing a stain.

Will this work for Olive oil ?
Wow great video
I’ll try this tomorrow.
This was very helpful. Thanks!
That's even better results than Dawn dish soap plus Coca Cola (which was also good but not this good).
Are you that same Mystery machine that I always see parked on Woodstock n 72ndish??
Not me... Stays in the Barn unless I an DJ'ING a car show or cruise in.

what do you do with the kitty litter after it's all murky? Dumpster? Recycle? :/
Throw it over the fence, into the neighbor’s yard.
