To anyone who cant see the menuhax67_installer:
At 5:40, he visually shows to drop the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file into the Nintendo 3DS folder on the SD card but he audible says to drop the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file into the 3ds folder which threw me off until I fixed it by dropping menuhax67_installer.3dsx into the other correct 3ds folder

Great guide. Note: mine DID crash consistent when trying to launch mk7 ROP exploit injector. Tried multiple times. Changed language to French and still crashed, changed language to Spanish and it worked! Finished process and changed language back to English no problem. Thanks for the guide!

I modded mine when I heard the eShop was shutting down, and I learned the hard way that removing the SD card too many times can damage the port. However, you can fix the port on your own by inserting a different SD card a few times (this will end up breaking the parts of the SD card that register that it's inserted into something though)
It's definitely worth looking into wirelessly transferring files between the computer and console so the SD card never needs touched.

Someone had given me their 2DS to mod in June. Thing being they tried to mod it themselves and (I think) gave up into the Boot9Strap. So I actually used the Mario Kart 7 method to preload my homebrew onto his! And it actually suceeded! I'm glad you're doing this incase anyone has this sort of thing!

Just wanted to drop a comment to say I tried this on 13/11/2023 and it worked perfectly. I did have to change the language of my system so that the MK7 stopped crashing but other than that everything worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
I also wanted to reasure anyone concerned about the functionality of the Download Play app. It's temporary and resets upon rebooting.

I cant seem to get past 11:34 of the video. The 3DS screen shows the proper screen for 1/2 a second and then get an exception occurred error

Imma give an honest review: I think this was a great tutorial, I had to slow it down and rewind it a few times especially because I was mainly on Mac and had to navigate it. BUT this was by far the easiest one I’ve found. Its explained well and really included all of the brands other than windows. Took some time but I go it done and I’m thankful !! I just wanted to be honest because I under stand everyone’s thankfulness on all of the tutorials like this but some are misleading!
Issues around the 11:14 mark, keep crashing when I tap on streetpass. I saw similar comments so if I fix it, I'll edit this comment.
Edit: So for clarification, I started my attempts in English but switched to French after it kept crashing. French got me a little further, but after it crashed again, I tried Spanish. That's when it started working :)
What do you mean you switched to french and spanish? I am having the same issue

@@chimesquire6608 It means to literally change your system language to Spanish. You can change it back afterwards, and it stops the game from crashing.

@@unkn0wnuser640 i managed to do it eventually, turned out mario kart needed an update. Also, there is a point that he puts a file into the Nintendo 3ds folder but he is meant to put it in the 3ds folder

This guide helped me regain all the digital games I lost when I replaced my 3ds xl motherboard. I no longer have access to my old nintendo network id as I can't access the recovery email address so this helped me regain Mario and Luigi Dream Team and do so much more.

So I try to using this method to mod my brothers 3DS now I use the Mac Version kart miner and I followed everything but when I go onto street pass it says this “when you tag another Mario kart 7 Player via Street pass they will be added to your friends” and it doesn’t let me go in to street pass is there a fix for this?
if its that its crashing I saw other comments saying changing their system language to things like spanish worked

I have ran into a problem where I have the nimdsphax option on the homebrew launcher, but not the other. How can I fix this?
You have put the menuhax67_installer.3dsx file in the incorrect folder. This may be why. At 5:45, you can see him putting the file into the Nintendo 3DS folder, however, you are meant to put it inside the 3ds folder. The 3ds folder is for hb. applications.
Btw I'm not sure if anyone will see this comment but as of today 11.17.5 is the newest version and I'm pretty sure doesn't require mario kart
So without a copy of mk7 i can't homebrew my system?
yea you need mk7 and also if you try doing it on a Mac it doesn't work

i believe you need to have the ds card inserted at this part.
I have the same issue. I live in europe and my files aren't called "USA.bat" or "EUR".bat" or anything either. I can't seem to figure out why it won't work either. And yeah the ds card was inserted
you need to disable write protection on the sd card.

I made the dumb decision to update my *already modded* 3DS XL, and I reset everything to get rid of the account that was originally on it, to create my own, but I didn’t realize it ALSO got rid of CFW. Guess i gotta buy MK7 now.
Um I modded my old 3ds and I’m on steam os Linux btw and I tried opening the restore USA file at the end but the exploit is still there when I open Mario kart channel idk how to restore the save data

Some people say to move the homebrew launcher file to the root, or move the menuhax, but that has not worked. No one has said anything in the discord it seems either.
hi there, i encountered this same issue of being able to install the xPloit Injector but could not launch the homebrew launcher at the same timestamp - I managed to resolve it.
check through the files carefully in your sd card (e.g., can reference 6:11). i made a mistake of putting all the files into the "Nintendo 3DS" folder and after rectifying the placement of the files it worked for me.

At the 11:50 mark you say to hit the home menu settings icon which should launch homebrew launcher. I do infact have launcher.dat on my sd card. Mine only gives me an error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, and restart the system. Ideas?

Console is already modded, that screen never appears on a stock 3DS
start at 8:55 or 12:57 if you already have a homebrewed 3ds / have your friend added & you mostly just need the homebrewed apps.
The menuhax67 isnt showing up on the homebrew launcher and also the launcher that comes in that folder are in video format so im a bit confused

edit: i moved menuhax to a different 3ds folder and it shows up on the homebrew menu but now when i press a the top screen goes black and the bottom one goes red then it returns to the homebrew menu

when you reattempted on windows did you use parallels? Also did you just delete all the old files off the sd card when you switched and downloaded them back on the windows?
@@tyjcx I kept all the original files, on macOS it wouldn’t run the appropriate scripts so I basically started at that point.

For Mario kart 7, get the region version of the game that your device is on (sorry if that’s unclear), for example, a U.S. console needs a U.S. game, Japanese consoles need a Japanese game, same with Europe. Also, if you’re in Canada like me, you get the U.S. version. Also, here’s where you check what region your console is. 10:20

Same thing to me. For you, maybe try to change your systems language. Spanish works better for most cases.

You have to click "extract all" after double clicking the batch file. Then go to the extracted file that looks identical to the original and do the same process. Worked for me
i had this issue and i could not fix it... googled the problem, and ended up adding the path to the environment variables on my computer (i wrote it in 2 different ways just in case..), also did the "identical extracted file" mentionned in this reply thread (not sure if this is what that person meant, but i extracted the save3ds.fuse file) not sure if all that worked.. but after having the "Release_BE..." file on my desktop only, and adding the extracted identical file path into my computer, it worked!! i suggest also following 3ds.hacks website guide AT THE SAME TIME as Aton's, since i think i did something different than his guide shows P.S: make sure you're running it as administrator too!

hey i was at the second part of the homebrew launcher where you had to launch menuhax, where i saw it wasn’t there… the file was there it just didn’t appear. and now being angry, i accidently froze the console (the screen being stuck) and decided to do the power off feature on the rosalina menu, and now nothing works, can’t power off the console or anything. i tried removing mk7 and the sd card and got nothing, still looking at the frozen homebrew screen. any tips or am i screwed with a bricked 2ds?
update: i let the 2ds die and now its back to itself again, and still no sight of the menuhax program, gonna replay the video and see if i can fix this
update: i finally picked up the 2ds after a WHILE… thanks to a helpful comment from someone i found out that the menuhax was supposed to go in the 3ds file, not the Nintendo 3DS file. now i’m able to play all mario and luigi games! :smiles:

After clicking on the home menu settinge icon at 11:52 my 2ds freezes on a red lower screen and the top screen is black with white text. It is frozen pls help

You can still back it up just go back and follow the same steps to back it up. It bad but it's not too bad along as you don't do anything that can brick your system it should be fine, but you should definitely make a backup.

I did everything it said alongside mario kart 7, but the streetpass list just never booted me into a race or anything. I followed everything added everything to the sd card, added the friend, the movable.scd folder but nothing. It says I also have 0 streetpass tags as well.

I feel as if I have missed a step somewhere when following the video. Does the Beta mk7v1.2 Folder have to be on the Root of the SD card? I've followed the video Tutorial thus far but when I go to launch Mario Kart and press A repeatedly, I just get a white screen and an error message. I've changed the language from English to Spanish. I feel as if I should also have the Moveable.sed file step on my SD card, rather than on my PC. Where have I gone wrong? I would appreciate some feedback and confirmation of my steps.
EDIT: I've continued with the video steps, but found that whatever language I select to try and trigger the exploit, I just get a white screen and an error. The only language that possibly works is Italian, as the Mario Kart menu crashes, which gives me hope something is happening somewhere. How have people completed the exploit?
EDIT 2: I purchased a Cartridge copy of the Game and completed a Factory Reset of my Console. I now have a modded Console. Must be the Cartridge that helps instead of a Digital copy. Who knows.
For me the screen goes white and I just go into the game, I dont even crash. Which is strange.

Edit: Nevermind, I found it, It was under the Nintendo 3DS Folder for some odd reason when I went through the files in Homebrew. All good now

FINALLY 😭
Followed this guide and worked perfectly on the first 3DS. Then tried to do it again on another and Bruteforce movable just keeps going forever on Step 3, won't give me the sed. Tried total factory reset several times and starting the process from the beginning and I get stuck infinitely everytime now I try to use Bruteforce on Step 3

@@Ulookedcompany Turns out there were just no active miners on bruteforce for the majority of yesterday, I left it on overnight and by this morning it was done 👍

i have gotten stuck, i did everything but you didnt say to put wireless comunication back on, so now i cant launch download play, and i cant put wireless communication on because then i open homebrew launcher
u can do it through settings by trying to connect to internet. Unfortunately even with wireless connection I wasn't able to get past download play :/
