Buying a 3DS this weekend and gunna follow all these steps. I want to play pokemon and my wife wants to play some her games growing up and some are hard to find so this will be good to download any game!

I followed the instructions to the T and it just sat forever after re-inserting the SD card. Completely corrupted all my data and was lost :/ 15 years of pokemon were erased in an instant
3 - 2 - 1 backup is having 3 forms of backup devices. 2 of them at your house of different styles (hdd, external HD, SD, usb etc) and having 1 off site copy in case of flooding, fire tornado, theft, water pipe breaks etc I'm sorry you lost your data. consider downloading retroarch emulator. it's a "front end" which means it can contain ds, gba, sega gbc etc emulators. it's also wifi and cloud compatible. you can play on your phone and android device with tv and emulator handhelds with wifi and all saves will cross over to the retroarch cloud you set up with guide

Hey, I made a dumb mistake by using the factory SD card and now I'm stuck at 11:47 of the video. Is the only solution to get an SD card with more storage and just copy everything onto the new one?
do you power off the 3ds every time you remove the sd card? like when you are finalizing things and you say, "back to the PC", and you install the finalize.romfs. did you turn off the 3ds while you were doing that? everywhere I look online says I need to turn off the 3ds any time I remove the sd card and not sure if that applies here.

If what you're saying is you're stuck on an infinite load screen. This is from the official guide. "You most likely did something different from the MSET9 instructions, or selected the wrong model or version. Close the script window Execute the mset9.py script on the root of the SD card Windows: Double-click mset9.bat Linux: open a Terminal window, cd to the root of your SD card, then type python3 mset9.py and press Enter You should see a window that says “MSET9 … SETUP by zoogie” Type the number corresponding to your console model and version, then press Enter Type 3, then press Enter Once the window says “Successfully removed MSET9!”, reinsert the SD card into your console Power on your console Return to Section II Step 1

hi, i need help. Your instructions are very clear, and i followed up until halfway. After installing the mset9.bat onto the card, which it said was successful, i reinserted into the 3ds (i have the same version as yours). I was careful not to press anything as well. But upon inserting, the screen is still normal, just with now the data of the sd card in it. No error screen or black screen with text like yours. I have repeated this step multiple times, yet cant seem to get it to work. Your help or anyone in the comment section would be much appreciated :’)
extra note, im unsure if the reason being is of my sd card itself, as it didn’t have the same sticker like yours, and i don’t know how many gb on it. But otherwise everything else was functionally the same

The only reason I haven’t nodded my 3Ds is because one of the screws is so badly stripped I can’t get to the SD card without breaking the case Still I will definitely do this at some point just to have more fun backgrounds
try finding a small piece of rubber band to act as a grip. place it on the tip of the screwdriver and smash it to the damaged screw. secondarily maybe some firmly pressed foam? not fluffy. pickle jars etc have a device that grips the cap like a rubber band and allows non slip. good luck also putting wd40 on it. a drop a day. or a few times a day can loosen dry fusion

(for a everyone comment Now I am poor to paying money as artist) I'll never have Nintendo 3DS Folder in my life with DELL laptop (still lag with my gameplay) but I glad I'm enjoy watching helpful person guide those people was very happy and joy to playing many kind of new games, my old 3DS will never playing every new games ever again. Guys, for everyone still having loading issues / red screen issues, assure you are using an sd card with at least 32gb. Also, try to get a new sd card, as it can be faulty. I was getting this issue for months until I got a new sd card.
Instead of getting a sighax installer I got some weird error that says “an exception occurred processor arm9 exception type prefetch abort” and a bunch of random numbers, and it just basically eats my themes. Please tell me someone else has this problem because I need help with it.

Hello, I have a problem at minute 3:40, when I open mset9.bat it says "Error 01: Couldn't find Nintendo 3DS folder! Ensure that you are running this script from the root of the SD card." I followed some steps that it tells me to make it work but nothing happens, and I followed the tutorial correctly and the card is inserted correctly, what can I do?
I did this but the apps didnt show up on the home menu, I still am stuck with the basic icons like settings and eshop. I dont understand where I went wrong, I followed everything correctly.
I can't figure out which folders to delete because it keeps telling me I have two ID0 folders, and whenever I delete one it tells me I either have 0 or 9.. Excellent guide nonetheless, even if I can't figure out my problem. I still watched through and it was easy to understand, so thank you.
@@BelowAverageGaming Happy to report that the current installation guide clarifies this: pre-existing software is "hidden" during part of the CFW installation process but is not actually deleted - it becomes visible again once installation is complete. I can confirm this as I've now successfully followed the guide and installed CFW on two old 3DS consoles. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful.
3:30 when i did this, my computer said that some of the properties of the files couldn't be transferred. supposedly it's because of the fat32 format, according to my research. do you have any advice?

If you boot to the HOME Menu, your payloads folder may be incorrectly spelled or in the wrong location

Instead of getting a sighax installer I got some weird error that says “an exception occurred processor arm9 exception type prefetch abort” and a bunch of random numbers, and it just basically eats my themes. Please tell me someone else has this problem because I need help with it.

I followed every step but at 7:15 when i reinsert the original sd card to my old 3ds , the loading never finish and stuck there and the black screen doesn't appear... Can i get help please?

@@lynaaa74 I read somewhere that that happens if ur sd card is smaller than 32gb but idk, mine was 4gb so that mightve been the problem

Hello, I have a problem at minute 3:40, when I open mset9.bat it says "Error 01: Couldn't find Nintendo 3DS folder! Ensure that you are running this script from the root of the SD card." I followed some steps that it tells me to make it work but nothing happens, and I followed the tutorial correctly and the card is inserted correctly, what can I do?
Probably reformat your SD card and start from scratch
I did this but the apps didnt show up on the home menu, I still am stuck with the basic icons like settings and eshop. I dont understand where I went wrong, I followed everything correctly.

@@nearbyfiddle5365 I was using the one that my ds came with which was 4gb cause the 64 one I bought wouldn’t work so I don’t think it was that 🫤
I can't figure out which folders to delete because it keeps telling me I have two ID0 folders, and whenever I delete one it tells me I either have 0 or 9.. Excellent guide nonetheless, even if I can't figure out my problem. I still watched through and it was easy to understand, so thank you.

@4:50 - deleting all software and save data doesn't sound good - is this a mandatory step? I don't wanna lose my progress in my purchased games.
Well, your SD card is supposed to be empty for this, maybe try using a new SD card and you'll have nothing to worry about
@@BelowAverageGaming Happy to report that the current installation guide clarifies this: pre-existing software is "hidden" during part of the CFW installation process but is not actually deleted - it becomes visible again once installation is complete. I can confirm this as I've now successfully followed the guide and installed CFW on two old 3DS consoles. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful.

3:30 when i did this, my computer said that some of the properties of the files couldn't be transferred. supposedly it's because of the fat32 format, according to my research. do you have any advice?
