My 6 year old son would also recommend Go Vacation & Lego Jurassic World. He loves the open world aspect of both of these games. Both reasonably priced too!
Marsupliami Hoobadventure is one I'd reccomend, I'm assuming it isn't in this video since it's niche. It's cheap but really well made, really good if you like DKC.
I like the recommendations but you should've probably mentioned that a nintendo switch online membership is recommended for the online games (such as splatoon 3)
Great list but I am very surprised you guys didn’t mention either of the top down Zelda games on the switch, the Links Awakening remake or Echoes of Wisdom, both of which I would highly recommend for anyone including kids
Disagree re: Mario Kart, it's great from 18 months onwards! The auto accelerate and guided driving make it great for little kids who don't even know they aren't really playing the game. Both my 2 love it, and playing together, 5yo & 2yo
Kirby Star Allies, Woodle Tree Adventures, Spencer, Tetris 99 (including 98 CPUs and Marathon Mode), board games like Monopoly, Mouse Trap, UNO, Ludo Mania, Mexican Train, Yatzi (yes, Yatzi), etc. Ice Climber, Dr. Mario and Kirby's Adventure on NES NSO.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with the auto steer and auto accelerate Is the modern version of handing you're sibling an unplugged controller to think they're playing
Well yeah but I'm hoping they can do a two-pack collection for both Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot so then we would have all the Modern Kirby Games in one console so I'm not gonna buy it if they do it if they do it then I would buy it and I would be happy about it
Idk if a recommendation from me would matter as much as one from them but I’d say it’d be a good game for an early reader. Some of the concepts might fly over their head but a kid who likes story books and puzzles would probably enjoy it.
4 yo - MK8 deluxe very good, Mickey is too hard, and the others seems not corresponding But Nintendo Wii Sport Switch Whatever Resort is nice, he loves tennis
Why is this called 'Best Nintendo Switch games for kids?' You've clearly just been spying on my games collection 😂 I see you out there Nintendo Life.... Hiding in the bushes again.
Super Lucky is not fun...very long load times and a lot of unfair platforming. I got pretty far in and just gave up because I couldn't stand the poor design and unfairness anymore.
Haha you have the least Danish accent min ven... Are you like me. A Brit who got captured by a Dane, and flyttede til landen of oh shit it's på Danish.
Kids today have 0 interest towards Nintendo IPs. They all prefer playing pc online games, mobile games, or ps. We might see the last of Nintendo generation.
Honestly I think it depends on who raises them! A few of my friends have kids and they all love Nintendo games. One of them really loves Pokemon and smash bros and was so excited to see that she could play as a pikachu instead of just training one.
What age of kids are you talking about? Until the age of 10-12 kids are mostly just playing what their parents have exposed them to. I definitely won't be letting my kids play online games until they are at least 10
To the people who follow this channel, I have a serious question for you, and please be honest: have.... you ditched Mario and came to hate all of his past games, just because Astro Bot came out and won the GOTY...?
Nope not at all! I still love Mario games because they have that warm familiar nostalgia to them and they are way more accessible since the switch (especially the switch lite) is way cheaper than the PS5.
I'm 30 and no longer a Nintendo fan, Mario fan, Sonic fan and Shadow fan, cause all that "kid stuff" is dead to me regardless. And well, as long I'm an adult, I have no control over my life just to enjoy my childhood interests as a kid of my own cause I'm just not a fan of everything around me.
Lol… I’m 52 and while these are all absolutely my kind of game.
Same and I'm 30 and never like realistic Playstation and Xbox games.
Haha yeah, I'm definitely a kid at heart when it comes to video games.
Soy
5:40 I bet most kids aged 4-6 wouldn't have a clue on how to play Animal Crossing.
Well they say 5 to 6 years old first of all, and anyway first games should be played in the company of the parents who can help them.
When I was young, I played it. Had no idea how, but it was a blast
Kids don't have to play the game well to enjoy it. I played AC on the GameCube at 5 and I had tons of fun.
My 6 year old son would also recommend Go Vacation & Lego Jurassic World. He loves the open world aspect of both of these games. Both reasonably priced too!
My 9 y.o would also like to suggest - Sky: Children of the light, Spy x Anya: Operation Memories, Super Kirby Clash, A Short Hike, and Pikmin 4.
Yes. How dare they not include Pikmin 😛😁
Marsupliami Hoobadventure is one I'd reccomend, I'm assuming it isn't in this video since it's niche. It's cheap but really well made, really good if you like DKC.
Marsupilami has a video game? I watched the tv series when I was little lol
My daughter just started this recently and it's a gem of a game.
I like the recommendations but you should've probably mentioned that a nintendo switch online membership is recommended for the online games (such as splatoon 3)
I own and enjoy almost every game on your list! And my kids love them too. Great list.
Great list but I am very surprised you guys didn’t mention either of the top down Zelda games on the switch, the Links Awakening remake or Echoes of Wisdom, both of which I would highly recommend for anyone including kids
0:51 i haven't finished Yoshi crafted world yet sadly
Real G’s know the original Yoshi’s Island was a wolf in sheep’s clothing
Yeah. Definitely. Especially the hidden stages and the super secret stages added for GBA version.
Also: one of the best final boss fight

Awesome, gonna try it
...and if the rumors are true, Kirby Planet Robobot might be showing up on Switch next year as well. lol
Well yeah but I'm hoping they can do a two-pack collection for both Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot so then we would have all the Modern Kirby Games in one console so I'm not gonna buy it if they do it if they do it then I would buy it and I would be happy about it
Just a heads up, some of these games require a bit higher of a reading level than the recommended age, such as Animal Crossing.
Donut County was a great intro for our kid and he could use the touch screen to control the hole
What would you recommend the age for Echoes of Wisdom?
Idk if a recommendation from me would matter as much as one from them but I’d say it’d be a good game for an early reader. Some of the concepts might fly over their head but a kid who likes story books and puzzles would probably enjoy it.
Teens.
Great games for all ages! Also links awakening and echoes of wisdom
Someof these games are great tools for new readers with a bunch of vocabulary they can be exposed to in games like animal crossing and pokemon
I do like Nintendo life however they can take some pointers from Switch up. They respond in the comments section and just a good overall community.
1:04 I'm sorry Felix. I couldn't let you win. Not in this world nor another.
Is say if I were a pre teen-teen then I would love ooblets.
Great pick-up games for kids and young people
When/If I have kids, I'll do with them what my dad did with me:
Set up a Genesis on a non-smart TV, pop in Sonic 1, and hand them the controller.
You forgot to give minimum age for Captain Toad.
4 yo - MK8 deluxe very good, Mickey is too hard, and the others seems not corresponding
But Nintendo Wii Sport Switch Whatever Resort is nice, he loves tennis
Great list, Nintendo Life!
I'm 39 I love these games😂
Id rather play Manhunt with my kid than any of these xd
Little Kitty Big City should be on this list
Kirby and the forgotten land is too hard for children of 4 years!
To teach them to be tougher than the current generation.
How many kids do you have?
2:20 ...yes. Scar the children early; builds character.
IYKYK 😈🦋
This game aint even hard. My daughter played this after Dark Souls Remastered.
@@DontKnowDontCare6.9 Didn't say the game is difficult.
Why is this called 'Best Nintendo Switch games for kids?' You've clearly just been spying on my games collection 😂
I see you out there Nintendo Life.... Hiding in the bushes again.
Throw a Majora's Mask cartridge in there, see if Zion pops out.
4 years old playing ds?little kid. I was 4 years old playing Super Nintendo.
Super Lucky is not fun...very long load times and a lot of unfair platforming. I got pretty far in and just gave up because I couldn't stand the poor design and unfairness anymore.
Kirby sweep
Best game is no game. Trust me, postpone to the max the day you introduce games to tour kids.
Haha you have the least Danish accent min ven... Are you like me. A Brit who got captured by a Dane, and flyttede til landen of oh shit it's på Danish.
Not sure id recommend any game containing a tonne of micro transactions.
You had me pretty much agreeing with everything here but then you said Fortnite 🤮
☺️😊
Hvad i helvede... er du Dansker 🎉
You are sick and funny
Kids today have 0 interest towards Nintendo IPs. They all prefer playing pc online games, mobile games, or ps. We might see the last of Nintendo generation.
But some Nintendo games are hardcore difficulty. I'm looking at you Battletoads.
My kids 5 and 11 have tons of fun together playing Kirby.
Honestly I think it depends on who raises them! A few of my friends have kids and they all love Nintendo games. One of them really loves Pokemon and smash bros and was so excited to see that she could play as a pikachu instead of just training one.
My kids are obsessed with Nintendo games.
What age of kids are you talking about? Until the age of 10-12 kids are mostly just playing what their parents have exposed them to. I definitely won't be letting my kids play online games until they are at least 10

Ok Sony fan b
Kids don't play this, the real children games are: Fortnite, Minecraft and among us
I'm 30 and no longer a Nintendo fan, Mario fan, Sonic fan and Shadow fan, cause all that "kid stuff" is dead to me regardless. And well, as long I'm an adult, I have no control over my life just to enjoy my childhood interests as a kid of my own cause I'm just not a fan of everything around me.
Sounds sad. Hope you're ok
