Hi! Am new to switch! I know It takes two needs two pairs of joy cons, but does stardew valley, untitled goose games and Luigi's mansion requires 2 pairs or 1 joy con per person will do? Or are we required to have 2 switches?
It Takes Two is one of the best games I've ever played. I played it with my wife and we had a lot of fun playing together. I love how forgiving it is because it makes it much more welcoming to a person like my wife who doesn't play a lot of games.
Same, my wife and I played through it and she struggles with running and jumping in 3D. We played on the Xbox and the game is super well done and polished.
I differ, me and my wife really liked the three first levels, then on the fourth we were really bored and wanted the level to end so it could be saved and we didn't have to start the level all over again. It is repetitive
Another fun co-op game I would recommend that goes up to 8 people is Pico Park, where you all work together to solve platformer puzzles! I played with 8 people and man it gets quite chaotic. It's also a fairly easy game to pick up for any casual gamers and plus it's only $4.99 in the eshop
Love this topic! I'm constantly looking for new Couch Co-Op games. Some recommendations: -Young Souls (Action RPG) -Heave Ho (Puzzle Platformer type game) -Moving Out (Similar vibe to overcooked) -Very Very Valet (Similar vibe to Moving Out / O.C.) -Any of the many Beat Em Ups on the console
Forgotten land is sooo good for my daughter and me, can I ask how old your kiddo is because I think luigi's Mansion 3 might be too hard for my 5year old.
This is just a topic that crossed my mind last night where I was thinking I need to find some Switch games to play with my girlfriend. So thanks for making it easier for me! I already have a couple but we haven't tried anything yet.
Dad with 3 kids so we do a lot of couch co-op...Towerfall is one of most frequented games! I will also suggest Ember Knights - it's Hades for 4 people and very well done - it's very accessible for kids to learn as well! Would Tetris Effect Connected count? You make one person the boss and the other 3 co-op to beat the boss!
@@israelrivera9337 Pikachu or Eevee Is the starting pokémon you get In each game as well as other version exclusive pokémon other than that they are the same
Moving Out 2 just came out last year. Its a great Overcooked adjacent game, with plenty of settings to make it easier for newer players. I also loved spider heck, which is stick fight with spiders and co-op options. What the golf and golfing with friends are very different games but both couch co-op options.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 has 2 player co-op for the Campaign and Raid Mode. Campaign one player has guns and the other has special abilities. Raid Mode both players can arm themselves however they see fit.
You should definitely add Boomerang Fu to the list, very funny and up to 6 players. Anyways, does Overcooked: All You Can Eat have new levels? Is it worth it for those who already have Overcooked 1 and 2?
Kingdom Two Crowns is such a hidden gem on the switch. If my partner and I can't figure out what to play, we often default to another Kingdom run, especially since there are four different campaigns to choose from. It has a satisfying feedback loop and suits two players expertly.
Cat Quest II has been one of my fav's since 2019. Pretty straight forward play/story and even if you're partner has never played it before, it's really easy to pick up. 10/10 recommend as a way to waste a Saturday afternoon.
I need to give free shoulder massage to trade with my husband play games with me! Cat Quest II and It Takes Two are so far the only two games we managed to play till the end! Cup Heads is too challenge for us so we stopped after 3 chapters. Looking forward to the Cat Quest III

I just wanna vouch for the briefly mentioned WarioWare: Get It Together which is absolutely incredible. It's so much fun with a friend, it's button only (so it's a bit simpler and doesn't require as much physical coordination) and if you're still not sure - go back on *this channel* and watch Alex & Jon play it together, it's one of the most fun Nintendo Life videos I've ever watched 😊

I feel like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 doesn’t get enough credit as a co-op game. Huge roster, fun, colorful worlds, solid variety in enemies, and the trick to coordinating your powers to maximize team efficiency makes for a great time.
Towerfall is probably my favorite couch multiplayer game ever made. I didn't think much of it from the ads, but I trusted some reviewers (from Polygon) and tried it out, and it's truly incredible! The secret sauce is in the vast number of things you can configure, and while, again, that doesn't sound like fun, it absolutely is! You can change the play style completely! You can go from a game that plays more like Mario Bros to a game that plays more like Doom. And you can balance out the difficulty between players by only enabling and disabling things per player, if you want to. I cannot recommend this game enough!
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the best co-op game on Switch imo. Unbelievably satisfying splitting up and getting as much done as possible in a day or within the mission mode constraints. Played it with my roommate who was totally new to the series and he loved it!
What a great video. I love that they also explain some little disadvantages and negative arguments besides the positive ones so we can really decide if we wanna play a certain game. 🎮💪 great job!
My vote is for Pikmin 4. The 2nd person plays with a hella strong pea shooter, making end game bosses do-able because they get really tough. Couch coop has a tendency of being boring for the 2nd person. But it never was in pikmin 4. There’s always something to shoot and you prevent pikmin from taking damage. It’s not like the horrible pea shooter in Mario galaxy.

Absolutely love Part Time UFO! If you happen to have a couple of fight sticks (we have the ones from 8bitdo), I find that's the most fun way to play and add some challenge! I had the same experience playing Portal with my fiance so your wife is not alone! Towerfall is also a family favorite -some other fun ones to look into as well would be Invisigun and Heave Ho!
I'll add a vote for the Trine games. 1 and 2 are pretty old, but still very fun. 3 is a bit of a janky mess, but fun in it's own way. 4 is back to the awesomeness of the first two and really really good. And 5, which just came out last summer, I have not been able to play quite yet, though I already bought it.
Wait the 3DS online died?!?!? 😭😭😭😭 At least the only person I play my games with is my brother and local multiplayer is safe. also since I have a modded DS I could download Pretendo (an online service thing)
it would be really helpful if you will write the name of the game on the screen and viewer can skip current game right to the next game and already see the name.
Honest question, is Overcooked! All You Can Eat better than Overcooked! 2? One of the times there was a huge sale I bought Overcooked! 2: Gourmet Edition and only then I noticed about All You Can Eat. I saw that it's 1 plus 2 and theoretically with better graphics, Had I not bought Overcooked 2 first I probably would've bought that instead but I already did. So, is it much better or worth it having already Overcooked 2? (also, considering that you can get AYCE for 75% off, i.e. 9.99)
Is it possible to connect two switches together to play a game co-op both in handheld mode?
