    One thing to check is under under the tiles in about a month, my garage would trap condensation water under the rubber tiles, you may get a musty smell.

      Especially since he washed the floors right before putting in the tiles. The floors still looked wet. Hopefully a non-issue.

      Jap, you have the same with those "playing tiles for kids". The whole dust and dirt of your room will collect under it. And in a garage, there will be oil, fluids, dirt etc. A sealing, in my opinion, would be the better alternative.
      Imagine one example: Where does the water go, when the car was in the rain. Under the tiles.

      I see these tiles being a sh@tshow. Turn the cars wheels, on these, and they may just turn into a pile of rubber.

    When you need to break down large pieces of plywood use some foam insulation board as a support on the ground and a straight edge and a circular saw. way easier and safer to break down.

    Another inspiring video! Man, you really get it done, no matter what the challenge is. Garage came out sick, especially for the budget. I still think some big company should sponsor you and get you a legit shop with all the talent you have, especially for Porsches. But, watching you do what you do in a small home garage is what makes your channel so unique and your videos worth watching. Great Job!

    Looks really, really good! I understand having to live with what you have size wise, but a couple of suggestions: one, I would look into what it would take, and cost to remove that pole supporting that beam in the ceiling. It might be less $$ than you think, and then you could work on one car in the middle of the garage, giving lots of room. You would obviously have to consult a professional before moving the pole, of course. And two, that outside area immediately outside the garage doors would be perfect for a roof/carport, so you could move one/both cars outside, and they would still be under cover, while you work on a third car (ie. BMW). A carport (roof supported by four posts) isn't that expensive, and you appear to have lots of room for it.

    • @matt13ross
      @matt13ross  19 днів тому

      I've considered both of those! But it comes down to saving the time and money to just get a bigger property and bigger garage.

    You can get another pole and put it under the beam about two feet from the wall with the garage doors. Then you can remove the old pole in the middle.
    The worst that would happen is sagging in the first couple of years. If that's the case, then put the old center pole back in.

    Should have got rid of all the water under the tiles before putting them down. Also, should have cleaned the floor better and then taped down a piece of plastic and then after 2 days lifted it up to see if the cement lets moisture through. Any on the plastic or leaves a dark mark on the cement and never lay those tiles down as the floor cannot breathe. You will turn it into a bio lab rather than a garage.

    Problem Example: 11:12 - 12:12 . Moisture barrier needed between the tile and concrete garage floor. How do I know? I did this without a moisture barrier for part of the garage. It became damp/wet under the tile. Concrete on top became dusty/brittle when I swept it. Even with a barrier...light moisture still showed up but MUCH better.

    I noticed those honeycomb style lights in a previous video of yours. Not sure if you had any of the other improvements were in at time of filming it. Your garage has definitely improved for the better though.

    I have a deep hatred for posts in the center of garages. They just get in the way of EVERYTHING you want to do.
