Wow - I could already use one of those, and I haven't even had my hip operated on yet. It's so stiff I have trouble bending over far enough to reach my right foot. What a great invention!
Great video, my challenge is my back is mostly fused,I have Bilat THA & have learned how to managed all except now I fractured right wrist & am looking for more assistance from specialists like you Lindsay I don’t have any assistance & must learn to stay self reliant
I had the cloth flexible one a few months ago & I loved it but the straps broke on it. I haven't bought another one yet & it was a little difficult to use having Cerebral Palsy when my legs don't bend right. My hands are very functioning & I have no problems with my hands, just my lower extremities have a lot of issues. I might have to get the Rigid Sock Aid one instead.
Is there ANY way to put on (then pull off!) a thigh high compression hose one handed after rotator cuff surgery? Loved seeing how to put on socks, but I need help with the compression hose. Thank you!
I don't like the Terry cloth aid because the sock won't come off. I'm weak in the hands but I have ripped off the handles, split the lining, etc. I like the hard plastic one. I use it between my thighs. Also, I put some lotion on the aid so my heel slides into my sock easier. I imagine it would be easier to put the sock on the aid, but what good is it if you can't get the sock to slip on your foot and the aid to release the sock from the aid. Btw..I have stiff ankles as I have Rheumatoid arthritis.
Not sure you will even see this question. I have a son with CP and he can not point his toes down. This is keeping him from putting on his socks independently. Do you know of any sock aids that would help or tricks to help? We have the one used in this video but can not make it work. Thanks. I love your videos.
I am looking for a helper in putting kinesiology tape on the back of my shoulder myself. Any suggestions? Enjoy your helpful videos so much! Thank you!
I'm wondering if these would work for me, as I have extra-wide feet? I found your presentation of the transport chair very helpful, and got one for my Mom. She calls it her "Rickshaw." Thank you...
My mom has fused wrists from arthritis. Her hands don't close into a complete fist and she has back problems. Suggestions to help keep her able to independently put her socks on AND OFF?
Ankle socks can be tricky. Make sure it’s pulled tight over the toe and try and get it as far up the sock aid as possible. Sometimes the flexible sock aids work better for that type of sock. amzn.to/3qDny0v
thank you for this. in my 50's and just had 2nd heart attack and a stroke. blood clot in my left arm has made my dominant left hand useless. trying to figure out how to live with my non dominate hand only, is so hard.
Sorry to hear of your ongoing challenges. I have prayed for your strengthening to figure your way through. I am coming up to a big 0 birthday & don't take my health for granted. I am very fortunate. I did wonder if you had the Covid medical intervention? No need to answer. Be blessed by Yehovah the God of the Bible & His Son. 🙏
@@barryblackwood6050 not covid, 2nd major heart attack that put me into v tac. had the stroke and blood clot while on a ventilator for a month. i have been super careful and not gotten covid at all. i have all the vaccines but went into the hospital last september and just got back home recently. don't have the newest vaccine yet but will get it. first major ha was 14 years ago so i already beat the odds on life expectancy. ( 80% die before 10 years ) my heart is bad but got an icd to revive me if my heart stops. the icd also keeps my heart rhythm normal. thanks for your concern.

I don't think so. The problem is the hole for the foot would cause it to pull right through. It's possible you could leave some of the leggings off the end of the sock aid and then put the weight of your foot down before pulling up, but it's also a pretty small opening so it won't make it very far up your leg (unless you have extremely thin legs).
Not convinced my father in law could maneuver this he had a stroke and can't use the left hand. He also had one of his hips replaced. I can't remember which one.

I use mine all of the time just makes it so much easier thank u for your demonstration
Thats awesome. great for fingers like mine that can't always grip a sock
Thanks for sharing this idea
Excellent device and demonstration! Thank you
Thanks for your videos! I have the flexible sock aid and for the first time today I got my socks on with minimal effort!
That's great! I find they are much better for many users but often not a suggested tool!
REALLY HELPFUL

I like a stiff aid with lotion spread on it. Works good on my stiff ankles. Probably also moisturizes my feet?
Thank you.

TY for the info. I'm probably going to need to get a new reacher soon. Autoimmune joint problems are so much fun.
You’re welcome! You are def not alone, auto immune conditions are so frustrating!
I like my dressing stick. It helps me better with my clothing than a reacher.

They make a sockaid that’s better suited for wide feet but it can’t be used one handed. I’m glad your mom is enjoying her new ride 😁
Which type of aid would you suggest for? Putting on compression stockings please
You'll see some options in this video! ua-cam.com/video/O5d_hjSs9mA/v-deo.html
Hi, how do you take the socks off? Thank you. Maria
I had a shoulder replacement on my left side and that's why I find it difficult putting on my socks
My mom has fused wrists from arthritis. Her hands don't close into a complete fist and she has back problems. Suggestions to help keep her able to independently put her socks on AND OFF?
I push my socks on to the aid with closed hands and taking them off, I push my socks off with a dressing stick hook.
would it work for compression stockings?

Does this work when putting on leggings

It isn’t easy and takes some practice, but I’ve found that many are able to figure it out over time using this strategy. Good luck!
Put gosh darn sock on where old.
