I learned that the co-axial rotor configuration eliminates the need for a tail rotor; reducing drag and improving speed and maneuverability. You will too because they say it 3 TIMES in the video. Stellar editing.

It's funny how they say it while showing images of the helicopter where you can clearly see it actually does have a tail rotor, but for a completely different purpose. Someone that isn't that much into helicopters will get very confused.

@@PhoneRepairs-m2n They'll still use all the technology gained from it into the reason this was cancelled. Helicopter drones using all this technology while the pilot is in a control helicopter meant to sit back in a safe position while orchestrating attacks from there. It's the same decision they made with the NGAD fighter program in which they can't go fully automated so they compromise with a mix of both. Either way this is much safer for pilots and we can expect fatalities to be incredibly reduced in war for pilots.

US military helicopters are integral to a wide range of missions, serving critical roles in combat support, troop transport, logistics, medical evacuation, and special operations. Key models include the UH-60 Black Hawk, renowned for its heavy-lift capability and versatility in roles like battlefield support and air assault. The AH-64 Apache stands out as the primary attack helicopter, equipped with advanced weaponry for engaging ground and naval targets with precision. The CH-47 Chinook excels in heavy-lift transport, capable of carrying substantial cargo and personnel for logistical support and emergency operations. The UH-1 Huey, famous for its historical significance, remains a stalwart in transport, medevac, and reconnaissance missions. Lastly, the MV-22 Osprey combines vertical takeoff and landing capability with fixed-wing flight, serving rapid deployment and specialized missions. These helicopters collectively enhance US military readiness and effectiveness across diverse operational scenarios.

Dual rotors are MUCH QUIETER. During the Vietnam War, the enemy called one "the silent death." The Uh-1s and Cobras were very loud, giving great advance notice to the enemy.

This is a marketing video that would make Elon Musk proud. For example, the V-22 is now being defunded - pushed out. Not to say that 300+% in cost increases have anything do with it. Nor do ongoing crashes that have resulted in it earning the moniker of "The Widow Maker", Japan recently grounding all of their V-22s, it having the reliability of a 1970s Italian sports car, or that all three US military branches that currently fly it don't want any more of them. But at least it only cost $120M a copy and maintenance cost will continue to skyrocket.

Frequent references throughout the video to improved speed, range, efficiency, etc, but zero numbers or what any of that means. Pretty pictures though.

Not being a jerk here but most homeless people I've encountered have chosen this lifestyle and, for some odd reason, enjoy it. Weird right but true. Oh yeah, why didn't the homeless go into the military to avoid the homeless lifestyle? this, of course, isn't all homeless but many. Like the majority. When that homeless guy walks into a hospital, Ifrom drink or whatever that stay is very, very, very expensive.q7bgrand a night plus. Also they're are plenty of decent paying jobs that don't even need a face to face interview. Homeless John doe or Jane doe can easily go to a library or call you up, and they can go to ups or amazon and get a job in a warehouse as long as they have a good bg they get hires after answering like 10 questions. Show up for training.bam, that's it. There are jobs like tgis all over the country, so excuse me if I chuckle at that comment you made.

Lockheed designed and built the next generation helicopter in the late 60's/early 70's. It is still better than anything flying now.
The AH-56 Cheyenne. Politics and poor decision making combined with inter-service rivalry/bickering relegated it to the dustbin.
    Apparently, some things never change.
