Ordered mine last week after driving with a colleague of mine from my company. This is the best car I've ever driven and I had a lot of German performance cars including Mercedes, BMWs and boring VWs.
This M50 is just insane, it's beautiful on the outside and inside, feels like a BMW and there isn't another car that can compete with you. Not on the Autobahn, not at the red right.
Nice car, I'm still not used to the silence of them from the outside.
Thanks for posting. I love my 2024 M50 in Portimao blue. Drive it in Sport mode to commute to work and charge at home so don’t care about the range.

The sound is a huge part of the experience. I'm getting there. My acceptance is slow but inevitable.
I have both, i4 M50 and M4(2017). M4 is very different, trust me.

@@karel-stuartcita8317In his older review of this car he told us this car is quicker than a M2 and a regular M4. Probably he threw the gloves angrily on the ground and wanted to feel the leather of the steering wheel.

210km with one charge for a 544hp car is not bad at all. If you drive a BMW M2 with that average speed you will probably not get a lot more distance done. The big difference is still the “fueling” after 😅
The M2 doesn`t take 20 l/100 km for that average speed!😂😂

@@youonlyneedacar I had the M2 for a couple of months and with fast driving on the Autobahn i had a range of 400-450km. And of course fueling is done in like 2 minutes. You get twice the range and even a bit more.
At these slow speeds an M4 will consume about 8l/100km giving a range of 700km. That’s a lot more.
@@alexandermenck6609 so then BMW is giving the wrong specifications telling the average consumption for the G82 is between 9-11? By the way, to have an average speed of 110kmh you have to drive pretty fast for a long time, so you absolutely won t get a consumption of 8l.

Where is the i4 M60?
Wenn man bedenkt, dass bei Ionity der Strom an der Autobahn auch mal 79 Cent kosten kann, sind 29 kWh Verbrauch auf 100 km umgerechnet 23 €. Dafür bekommt man aktuell 12-13 Liter normales 98er Super Plus...also irgendwo ist da die Effizient und Ersparnis für den Endverbraucher auf der Strecke geblieben und das ist einer der Gründe für die fehlende Akzeptanz.. Das Auto an sich fährt sich super und sieht auch wirklich gut aus, vom Sound mal abgesehen...
Wer zwingt dich bei denen für den Preis zu laden? Bei Enel X Way kostet die kwh 32ct, das ist weniger als ich daheim zahle. Also lass mal die Kirche in Dorf
@@romansenger2322 Das Ladesäulennetz der Enel X Way in Deutschland ist jetzt nicht so ausgebaut, dass man mit seiner Restreichweite immer an eine kommt... also bleib mal realistisch...
Es gibt ja auch genügend Möglichkeiten den Ionity-Preis zu reduzieren wenn man wirklich oft DC-lädt. Aber es ist natürlich aufwändiger als beim Benziner. Man muss also Zeit investieren um den passenden Ladetarif zu finden.
Übrigens braucht mein i4 M50 im Schnitt 19kwh / 100 km. Diesen Monat bisher 16,1. Was das genau an Unterhalt bei 0,29 Cent, die die Stadtwerke hier verlangen, heißt darfst du selbst ausrechnen. Du kannst auch gern noch 300€ THG mit rein nehmen, damit fahre ich 2 Monate quasi gratis. Ah jo. Und zum Ölservice und ähnlichem muss ich ebenfalls nicht.
Schon richtig teuer so ein E Auto :-)

What is it with these ridiculously oversized wheels these days? The 20" rims massively reduce range. I ordered my M50 with 18" and that is already large for such a car. It's the wheel size of the original Audi A8, go figure.
do this with a Model 3 Long Range or even a Model S at over 10 Degrees and you're going to break records!

The acceleration active sound on the inside is terrible

They did a terrible job with the sound engine as the motor continuously climbs up in RPM. This is trying to sound like it has a real transmission with multiple gears. Should have made just a complete linear sound that mimics motor RPM. This sound wants to be like an ICE.
It sounds different in real life and follows acoustically the so-called “Shepard Tone” effect. A very clever approach from Hans Zimmer, the famous soundtrack composer. As I said you need experience it in the car.
@@mikedelicusI like Hans Zimmer. With that said the sound still has nothing to do with what the unpleasant sounding motors are doing. Motors sound unpleasant in general and only increase in db with each RPM increase. Since most BEVs are single gear more speed means higher RPM. No company has created a real soundtrack that mimics what the physical motors are doing. What Mr. Zimmer created is pleasant however it is fake.
Every point of view steering wheel video for BMW I have looked at the steering wheel is about a quarter of an inch off Centre

Why would anybody take this over a M3 or M340i?
I took this because it’s quicker, quieter, way cheaper to run, I can charge at home, precool the car on hot days, prewarm on cold days, be faster than 99,9% of other cars on any traffic light.
Why in the world would I take a 340i?!? There’s only downsides. M3 is ok when you do trackdays. Otherwise also a waste of money.
'Cuz I wasn't shopping for a BMW-- I was shopping for an EV. The BMW checked off all the right boxes, shot to the top of my list and nothing (within price) could dethrone it.
Thanks so much for the realistic test. To be honest, the range is just poor, also considering the driving style, wheater and so on. For me no replacement for the combustion engine
My i4 M50 has an average consumption of 19 kWh / 100 km from factory. Which gives it a typical range of 400 km. When I drive on a Sunday it’s up to 550 km.
But yeah. Range bad. Say mostly the people who drive 20-30km per day.
@@Beamer_i4_M50 i drive 90-110km per day and have only the possibillity to charge over normal power socket at home, with extension. The next super charger is 2km away and I don't want to base my life on the car
@@mpfrankfurtAt that daily range with a 11 kw Wallbox at home it could be the perfect car for you. I bought one because I appreciate hardly the comfort and silence without missing the acceleration performance.

It’s the nature of BEVs. One has to drive them like a virgin to get near advertised range. Which means soft throttle inputs and low speeds. It’s just physics for these giant battery packs on wheels.

wait 4 weeks for a Tesla Model 3 Performance. It's cheaper, faster, quicker and has better range. Pretty much a no-brainer.

I walked in and took my i4 from dealer stock. Light on features, but I never use even cruise control in my routine, much less Driver Assistance of any streak.
I drove with my M3P a faster average speed (124km/h) at much, much less consumption (20,4kwh/100km). This BMW is a joke compared to that. Wouldnt even think a second to get this brick as a car for heavy usage on the autobahn
Lol, on the other hand, the interior quality and overall material quality of the Tesla is on a Dacia level and the noise level is significantly higher. Couldn't imagine driving in a such a low level quality car.

Today you do not need more. You have high speed charging station everywhere.
@@laurent___4431 maybe in your your country but in eastern europe most chargers are type 2 22kw, no fast charging. They appear on map problem is you spend 3-4 hours to charge and what if they are full wait another 2, 3 hours for something to get free. Again EVs maybe in 10 years but for now just a joke and a scam
1) Driving fast and hard enough to require both motors turning will eat up range. The i4 M50 can cruise in RWD on one motor if you baby it for range.
2) The big wheels kill range.
3) Rain. Requires AWD to engage more often and impacts rolling resistance, thus decreases range as well.
Only thing going for him in this instance is the fact it wasn't wintertime.
