I grew up, living down the street from Selena and let me tell you when I say that she was the most down to earth person. To everyone else she was Selena the celebrity but to us she was Selena our neighbor. I was in 7th grade when she passed and I remember our neighborhood street being congested for months with people and traffic.
Its so sad what happened. Selena was on top of the world.... This song was released a couple of months after she passed. She will forever be 23 years old......
Selena had everything: talent, natural beauty, charisma. It's still hard, just processing the fact that she was unfairly taken away when she was at the peak of her life. However, she's a legend and a Queen, because (quoting her) "the goal isn't to live forever, but to create something that will". We miss you Sel! P.S: I'm not a hateful person, but Yolanda Saldivar can rot in hell: I don't care
Liz, you just heard the Queen of Tejano. She makes all of us who are Latino/Hispanic. She was murdered, Liz; taken from us at the too young age of 23, one of the all time biggest loses we have ever faced. "Si Una Vez", "Amor Prohibido", "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", "Ya No" and many, many other songs of hers you should be reacting to. She was so close to turning the music business completely on its head. I was in Corpus Christi, Texas when she was killed; it is something you never forget, it is still a heartbreaking moment to this day. Long live La Reigna del Tejano.
How on gods green earth could i scroll about 200 of your reactions and find 1 i repeat 1 elvis song woe terrible he has 600 dings most are just incredable wow unreal your loss though !
I was in San Antonio in 1995 the day Selena died. I was there for a national Lutheran Church Missouri Synod youth gathering. That evening the day she died at the Alamodome 64 thousand Christian adults and youth were praying for her. That night walking back to the hotels we stayed in I remember seeing people waving Mexican flags out the windows of cars trucks vans and honking their horns.
Tsk tsk.
She was just one of those rare people that you just instantly like. Her personality came through in everything she did.
