    I have had 2 Zenith's, 2 PTR's, and an HK sp5. I bought the Zenith first really liked it but sold it when I bought my SP5 mainly because I didn't need 2 of the same gun. However I think the Zentih was fine and don't think the SP5 is worth the money unless you are a collector. I bought the PTR because it is compatible with my registered sear pack lower. So far I have put exactly 1k rounds through the PTR9c on full auto and only had 3 light primer strikes which were during the first 500 rounds. I will be selling the SP5 for the same reason I don't need 2 of the same gun. Any one is fine for the average shooter. The Zenith/ AP5 and SP5 are perfect out of the box the PTR will have quality control issues out of the box both of mine did. That's my experience with them.

      @brandondang7156 the MKE by Century is the closest thing to the HK SP5. They use the same machines HK used, but now with better finishes and metals. But for 2/3 the price. Imo the MKE is superior and easily used to drop in trigger pack...mmmhmm

      Which eliminates 97.1234567% of us. Rather have MKE. Or HK. I could care less about having a clone, and that makes the choice pretty simple.🤣😂
      Both are badass though, for the record.

    The MKE uses the same metallurgy as the H&K as well as the same tooling/manufacturing equipment and techniques. I'm definitely in the minority as someone who does not think the H&K is better than the MKE. I do not think there is anything inherently better about German manufacturing; and to the contrary, my experience has been that it is worse. I chose the AP5 because I have bad luck with German made stuff, but think the SP5 is the best roller delayed blowback.
    The PTR is not necessarliy the same steel as the MKE or H&K. The welded on rail is a pain in the pinky. Tolerances may or may not be good, and parts may or may not interchange. Cool if you're going full auto, but not the same gun.

    • @hlam998
      @hlam998  2 роки тому +1

      Absolutely right! I do prefer the MKE to save me 1/2 of the cost of the HK

    • @thereturningshadow

      What you failed to mention is MKE tooling is FORTY FIVE YEAR OLD TOOLING that HK got rid of. That's why MKE has it. It is NOT state of the art tooling that HK is using now. Also, the quality control of MKE has dropped drastically in the past few years and I think it is directly related from them going from Zenith to Cetme. Cetme has always be on the low end of quality regarding HK cloning. They look for cheap in price and unfortunately that means cheap in quality as well. I recently held an AP5 and trying to just click the safety lever almost required a hammer to bash it into firing position. It felt welded.
      Another thing about MKEs being imports is that it will cost you hundreds of dollars MORE to make it 922 compliant if you wish to made alterations. PTR being made in America has no such issues plus it is full auto ready. Some people bitch about welds. That;s just cosmetic and it bothers someone that much, then they don't need any MP5 gun at all. Cosmetic does NOT interfere with function.
      All the HK whores that think ONLY HK is the way to go with the MP5, I say they deserve to lose their money buying something with an HK stamp on it because for the extra $1,000 that all you are paying for. There is no more higher quality function out of an HK than there is out a PTR.

      @@thereturningshadow True; it's old, tied and true, thoroughly tested and maintained tooling. The only real functional upgrade as far as mechanics goes since that time is the easily replaceable to current version recoil spring. The metallurgy is correct, which si where PTR's have failed from what I see online, as well as with compatibility, ergoniomic (think: non-removeable picatinny rail) etc. You're right that for people converting to full automatic, the PTR is much easier, but that is something I don't intend to do. Mine works flawlessly, has nice (lack of mostly) tool marks, etc. Glad you like yours.

    The SB Tactical telescopic brace requires Dremeling out the inside cavity so that it will fit the rear of the PTR also. If that’s not accomplished, it’s a pain in the a55 to try to use a plastic mallet to force the SB Tactical brace onto the rear of the receiver.

    Sb isn’t tight, more towards the ptr not being quite as good quality as the mke. All HK tooling on the mke and lack of welded pic rail makes it a better choice for a lot of guys
