I really liked this tutorial and your explaining the difference between contouring and bronzing. Your makeup look for this was very pretty as well!
I love your eye makeup here, your eyes really stand out and look so pretty!
I am sure there are other tuts on this but I have not seen one this GREAT!!! Thank you so much Marnie!!
I am very much into subtle! I am too old to wear 8 diff bronze's, blush and contour LOL
Your cheekbones do exist :) The main reason to contour is to bring back the lines of your face after "erasing" them with foundation, which flattens the natural shadows and angles.
Extreme contouring has been used in photography/film/TV forever because the studio lighting flattens faces. Always-On-Camera Social Media has brought it into the mainstream.
The problem is extreme contouring for studio lights looks too dramatic under natural lighting, and ghoulish under fluorescent lighting, especially if it is more on the grey side.
Awesome video...I love that you place your cheekbone contour high enough that it lifts your face. I learned that tip recently. 😉
Your complexion looks flawless today! Which ELF contour palette did you use on your eyes? This is definitely a great daytime look.
Hi, Marnie this was such a great and helpful video! Especially the part about the brushes and order! Thanks!
Such a helpful video. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us!!! XOXO
I learned a couple of great tips on this video. I am going to order the sigma brush-I love the size.
Never seen you using nars bronzing powder.. pls include that in your next tutorial.. mine is in laguna shade 😘 tc marnie
Morning Pretty Marnie!! Thanks for the video!! xoxo
for olive skin tones and darker skin tones bronzers can work as contour I have the kevyn aucoin contour powder but I do not like to use it I prefer the too faced chocolate soleil bronzer it looks more natural on my skin
and you have a prefect nose you do not need to contour it
That makes really good sense! Thanks for sharing that!
Ha-thank you!
GAW love it!! New Sub here!!!
What size did you get in the black top you are wearing? Lisa
+toybiz1 I have an XS.
Marnie Goldberg thanks! 😃
What color are U in the ultra HD stick?
I don't know-I haven't tried the stick!
Marnie Goldberg sry I meant the foundation :)
I'm in R230 but it's a teeny bit light right now.
New filming place ❤❤ #notificationsquad
UA-cam engagement counts, so conversations in the comment section here will also help Marnie.
I just have no patience for contour - as I fear I will not pick a good color for me, but you've made it look so easy and I'm inspired :) -Quincey
?
Love this video Marnie! Very helpful! Thanks so much! You just have such a fun personality that really shines on your videos! I feel like I learn some stuff and laugh a bit too - all in a good way! I always look forward to your videos!
Loved this. I have tried it before but ended up with the muddy look. Thanks for sharing the brushes. Just ordered the Sephora brush.
I've tried contouring before but not like this and it didnt look good. This helps out tremendously. I like to keep my makeup simple. Can't wait to try it out. Thank you!
This is the first tutorial that I have seen that is not overly contrived. It was very informative regarding types of brushes, shade tones etc. thanks for keeping it relatable for us.
Especially Beautiful look today. Thanks for your tips!
I love this series, especially the name "Grown Ass Women"! You're awesome. :
Total newbie....I have read that ingred. talc is drying to skin and mica is somewhat better in that regard. any insight?
Great tutorial!!! That blush looks very nice!!
Thanks for the video, it was very informative...
Thanks for another great video, Marnie! Have a great weekend...
Thanks Marnie! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you! I think I finally understand how to do it!
Very informative! Thank you 😊
Thanks for the great information.
looking sooòoooooo beautiful
I really enjoy your channel.
Excellent video!
Very pretty
Gorgeous
Hi Marine, I see you mentioned a brush collection from Coastal. How would you rate them let's say compared to Sigma, Real Techniques or Morphe brushes? I just love how you are so talented in putting on all the different makeups. And you are a wonderful teacher. Peggy
Hi Peggy! Thanks for the encouragement! I have never tried Morphe brushes so I can't weigh in on those. I'm partial to Sigma because they are the most like Mac brushes, which is basically what I learned to put on makeup with so I think I go to what's most familiar. I like the CS face brushes and the RT face brushes, but for eyes I think Sigma blows them away.
Marnie Goldberg Marine, where do you buy most of your brushes? Thank you. 🌝
Lately from Nordstrom, Sephora...Ulta-the usual places!
Love your 'GAW' series!!! I'm almost 35 and even still feel old amongst a lot of the everyday youtube tutorials LOL Keep 'em coming! :) Have you done any anti-aging videos? Like fav products, etc?? :)
I haven't-although really it's just SPF, a decent moisturizer and stay away from cigarettes, late nights and alcohol! ;)
Do you have a great SPF and moisturizer that you swear by? :)
All Colleen Rothschild!
Oh Awesome! You know, I've never tried any of her products!! I'll have to jump on the band wagon :)...thanks so much for taking the time to answer my questions...greatly appreciated :)
milani Bella milani!!
Bella bellini
Thank you for explaining the difference between contouring and bronzing! I've had this same discussion with friends before and it's so good to know we are on the same page. And I love that elf set too!
Haha! I already feel like she and I are friends after watching her for so long.
I consider us good friends that have never met! ;)
