Not to take away from any of the stellar players Robben has played with over the years, but these 3 have never been equaled in my opinion. 100% Pocket-Mastery all night.
I was 19 and I am sitting somewhere there in the first row. I found mr. Ford in late 80’s from a Bruce Willi’s record ”If It Don’t Kill You…” where mr. Ford worked as a producer, musician and arranger. For me Roscoe Beck in the Bass and Robert Brechtlein in the drums represented something I had never heard played with a guitar-trio before. Nor even by SRV.
Lol what?! I couldn’t disagree more. He is just more patient and discerning nowadays. I enjoy his younger fiery playing as well but his tone and his feel he has now is unmatched. The subtleties of his playing are what really knock me out and elevate him above most players in my eyes.
Boring, predicteble, and uninspiering, now thays to be honest, but its Robben, a true genius, we must stay strong and pray he come back from the darkside. May the force be with him
Easy there fella lol I agree that his playing STYLE has become rather "sleepy" and laid-back and lacks the early fire and tastiness on the first few CD's, but as a Musician he certainly has matured.
@@1970borntorun - have you heard him live lately ?? I've heard him about 5 or 6 x in the last 2 years - and he can still burn whenever he wants.... his playing is still unbelievably good
Depends who is at the party. If it's you and you beer swilling, loud farting, KFC eating, Trumpturd jackass buddies, then you'd be better off listening to some kind of fascist country music.
J-Moon altho I love ur defense of Robben Ford bc he & drummer Gary Moore, there are some amazing country musicians who have balanced outlook, most in fact, ask Robben who was in Nashville for a few years.
Roscoe is ridiculous on this , of course Robben, amazing!
I can't believe I've never seen this performance. It's one of the most cooking live shows I've ever seen !!!
Robben ford and gary moore
Thats all i need in my life
Then you would have one of the best covered and one of the worst covered
Dang Robben, Roscoe and Tom are burning.I mean killin it.

Rob Brechtlein is pretty decent on drums, I'll admit. But: have you heard his brother Tom? Kills it, dude. :-)
@Schlemiel Schlimazel Fancy that? Neither of us have heard of Rob Brechtlein!
@@rawdonwaller Haha! My mistake. Tom it is istead of Robert🙂. Don’t know why I wrote Robert…
at his best, as always. Best blues/rock player in history
You ALMOST had that right. The best Blues/Jazz/Rock Player in History :)
