I always enjoyed this tutorial but looking back at it always wanted to improve the quality of the video and add in some new knowledge - so that's what I did. If you're interested you can check out a remastered, updated version of this tutorial 1.5 years later: ua-cam.com/video/cGUdDgKdEg8/v-deo.html
Hey can u make another one of these videos where u walk threw making a song. Doesnt have to be basic but one were u walk threw everything u do. Thanks in advance
I don't know how many "beginner" videos I had to go through before I finally found this one, but it was way too many. Way way way too many. Thank you for ending my search for a STRAIGHT TO THE POINT tutorial for beginners.
Sorry for the bit of a late response but thanks for taking the time to let me know this! I am glad to help and I appreciate your support. Best of luck to you with all your music production :D
I found out that there are all these urban myths about free studios and reached the conclusion those myths are silly storytelling that is not worth following.
Apparently I got super lucky because I found this video immediately after having a friend show me a quick video on the interface. I'm glad I didn't have to do the searching you did but at least we all figured it out eventually. ;)
I really like how when you are talking about a quick change to make you say it like you're making a song, "I think i like this better, so i think im going to change it" it added a different feel rather than the normal boring "So now you click here then here, and bring this down.. etc" Very nice tutorial!
Thank you for doing this tutorial right. I've had to "rewind" through way too many "how to" videos that still left out minor important details! You were clear, made sense & to the point.
this is what i was looking for years! the foundation of how to make a song! its the most important thing, everything else its just time consuming and perfecting the idea... but this is what i was looking for because there was always something missing and i didnt know where to start, i always started with the drums and ritme and i got stuck every time, the funny thing is i asked for help with real musicians and nobody had "time" to help me, so i what to thank you very much for making this videos and help people out how to do what they enjoy doing and dont feel bad because there is always something falling behind that we cannot see...
The first ableton tutorial that actually teaches not only how to make an ableton song, but how to actually realistically use ableton simply, easily and more efficiently to create beats, rhythms etc and of course "how to actually use ableton". Truly a beginners guide. Well done man. ✌️🙏❤️😁
Wow I remember watching this 2 years ago clueless on using DAWS, and Its funny to look back and see how far I've come. I rembwr being so happy when I started to learn the most basic things from this Tutorial Lol Thanks man
Thanks man! I had watched other videos on how to use Ableton, but they failed to show me how to actually put sounds together to start making a song. You filled that gap and I thank you!
Thank you for making this! I just successfully made my first (super basic) song using your tutorial and now have the confidence to continue messing around and experimenting :)
Pedagogically...man...AMAZING! This is made for learners. I will repeat Matthew, going from video "x" to video "y"...and then comes the pearl, that's this one. Thanks InspirAspir. I guess CUBASE is trying to buy you out!? Seriously, thanks a lot, I made my first music from scratch in 90 minutes...emotional!
Love how you explain the tutorial man, please make more videos, I trully want to learn about producing and some videos are way too difficult for my level
you are like the best example for Ableton. Its sad that you only got like 12 views for this video but your helping a lot and I thank you for that so keep on doing these videos
Thanks a lot for the incredible tutorial man! Do you have any idea why does the pitch of everything sound lower than yours even though I followed your instruction exactly? What audio preferences do you use?
Just watched this and the beginners video, love how you break it all down into simple steps so someone with no idea what they're doing (me) can understand it. Thanks, and keep 'em coming!
I have be messing around with ableton abit, most tutorials i've seen, showed the person making more complex pieces, other then the fact that made it harder to follow as a beginner, it made the expectation of what you are gonna make as a beginner get way to high. so i like the fact that you made your production simple in the tutorial and then showed what it could grow to be, made it a bit easier to play around with the program.
Dude. Thanks for this tutorial. I have been using Ableton since Live 7 and love it. I've recorded bands, my own music and all sorts of experimentations. Although I can say I have used some of these methods in the past, this tutorial is still exemplary on giving a start to a piece of music. Using all different techniques for a purpose. Also I had to note how you began with a simple, almost ubiquitous chord flow, but showing still how by the end, with using the arranger's imagination the piece finished can sound entirely original. Cheers suh! Keep on arranging, producing, and rocking in the free world dude.
Hey cheers! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me this, it's refreshing to hear even someone with more experience was able to take something away from this video. Thanks for the kind words, best of luck to you with your future music projects :D
Thank you for making this video, I have seen so many but this one puts it into terms a true beginner can understand. You have a new sub and I can't wait for Dreamland EP.
hey man, all your videos helped me really much and I really appreciate the fact that there's a channel that fully explains how to do certain things, its very helpful!
Hey IA, I really like your lesson, and the way all related are mentioned in the same moment. Cool brain, I'll fly through this at same rate. Nice one !
Nicely made video man. Informative, interesting, good pacing, and you talked clearly (which i find a lot of tutorials lack). Great job:) keep up the good work
Omg, thank you so much! I love your tutorials and you thought me how to use the midi extension and how to make lightshows and now how to make a song which I have always wanted to do but all the tutorials I watched used the drum rack and I could never get it so thank you for being the tutorial master!!!!,
This helped me so much, you explained everything I didn't know clear and the other stuff i watched didn't really help me. Now I can try once again. Thanks
I made step by step this tutorial. Key by key and it was equal! It sounded like yours. But after finish it, I started changing some stuff yo test it out, like the bass instrument and that kind of stuff and yeah it was good. Thanks
Honestly I wish I found this video over a year ago. I had no idea what I was doing back then and now Im teaching a friend how to use ableton so he can persue music and I think this would be the perfect start for him
I laughed so hard when you said "NEVER MIND" after adding that second instrument :D this video is super useful. I really needed something to show me how to get into the piano roll after having played with FL for a minute before realizing that ableton is all anyone uses and therefore is easier to get help with. :)
Thanks for this video InspirAspir....... It helped me alot and I'll be soon Making my own song and will be giving you the credits for teaching me..... Thanks again...... Awesome video!!!!!
You could be an awesome teacher bro!!! I really liked watching this video as you carried on with the basics and did not waver off into the more complicated stuff, which is very demotivating for a beginner like me.
Went from really unimpressed but grateful for the content to being like oh shit this sounds pretty good now. Crazy! Reminds me not to be a perfectionist going into this and just having fun, the process is what's important less so than the starting point.
What is going on here? I've had a midi keyboard and ableton for a year and I've watched 20+ hours of vids about how to use it. You're the first one to say press tab and actually show us how to make the music. Thank you!!!
Amazing video, this really helped me out alot! Because of your video, it brought me back into spirit as I had a hard time creating a melody and this video inspired me to keep trying. Thank you with all my heart!
I loved your tutorial! Thank you SO much. I struggle a lot with taking a LOOP into a SONG. There's a lot of content on how to go as far as you did but to build an actual track... I'd love to know the process!
I made my first song because of you brother i have been searching videos for months like yours. And i finally found it just what l needed to create a song easy and simple thank you so much merry Christmas and happy new year ones again thank you ✌😀

yeah he wasn't the only one...so many videos i had to watch before finding this one...good work!
