A foreigner should come to India with a blank mind... ready to experience life as it is.... all kinds of things... good bad... should be ready to learn life lessons... cos India has it all... when u haven’t learned your lesson the life here will be a bit harsh... devastating... when you have learnt something then it will change into something good and appreciable... the lessons you learn more the life here will be way better and you don’t want to go back actually... you stay...
That may or may not be true. I think there are many different types of crime rates, such as violent crime, gun crime, property crime and more so it's difficult to just compare one crime rate. I know the USA has the most gun crime in the world. If your point is that India is safe, then I'd agree with that
This man is the only man actually saying good things about india and reality of india... Many foreigners saying india is poor country not like that.. This media peoples showing only bad condition of India. India is Wealthy country.. And nowadays India is very clean also.. And we are working for that cleaning proceses...every country have both rich and poor people's.. Not only India.. Come and explore other side also.. Like south India..
Good things happen everywhere, bad things can happen anywhere. When I traveled to London twice, i was warned by many of my friends and colleagues that u should be extra careful, especially after 08:00PM, as crime rate is very high. In Bangalore, i can roam around till 00:00 midnight without worrying. However there were robberies, rapes, attacks in Bangalore too. It is just that as I am from here i know certain safety measures almost intuitively, which I won't be knowing about london or for that matter any other place on earth. That's about it...Just know them, u will be fine. My only tip to anyone who comes to india would be...Keep in mind that things may or may not be very different but it is all about perceptions. Keep an open mind...U r not traveling to a different planet. Bottom line: It is all the same.....
I agree. My AC technician said 1 hr..After 4hrs I called him. He said he is stuck in traffic and said he is coming..He showed up next day. So 1 hr = 1 day. This was in 2013 when I was living there.. I lived there between 2013 and 2017. Most of the technicians give you the same reason.. traffic. Maybe it is different now.
I went to Gurgaon on business and was amazed at how developed and fancy many places were. I was very careful about food and still got sick but it passed very quickly. I honestly really enjoyed the food. However, as far as cleanliness it felt like there was a standard that people keep their own personal spaces very very clean, so offices and homes and malls were very clean but there was not a lot of respect for public spaces. I did a little touring around to other places in North India as well and although tourist attractions were well kept there was a lot of trash in the streets compared to almost any country I have visited.
Bro you should come and visit assam to experience the wowness about India. I have enjoyed several of Ben's videos. I just returned from a trip to Mumbai, it was exciting, and I hope to visit again. About Mumbai, well, I stayed at a really nice 5-star hotel, so the food, service, chauffeured car, everything was amazing. I was very comfortable. What's shocking 1) it is brutally hot and steamy in the city when you're outside of air conditioning 2) stray dogs, heartbreaking, you want to bring all of them home, if you could. 3) Trash on the streets, overflowing dumpsters even in nicer neighborhoods 4) the crazy traffic, the amount of time it takes to go just a couple of miles by car. What I liked: 1) People are very friendly with foreigners and helpful. Almost everyone in Mumbai speaks English 2) The food is super delicious, great vegetarian options, and very affordable even at upscale restaurants 3) The sea views are spectacular 4) Beautiful south Mumbai old gothic architecture
Okay so, I usually don't comment but today I want to. your doctor who is from Mumbai won't have that much of experience in US compared to any other dental professional here in India our Population is itself our strength as we get to see lots of patients here lots of patients means lots of experience. here is a justification to my above statement, I am Doctor here in India I have friends abroad aswell who come here for their treatment, as treatment here is cheap and reliable. If you have time, you may plan to visit the eastern parts of India as well. Every part of India is different from the other and the East (Bengal) is known as the center of art and culture. You will find many heritage buildings like Victoria Memorial, Fort William, Writers Building, Jorasanko Thakurbari, Belur Moth, and the list goes on. This is the place of many Nobel laureate of India (Rabindranath Tagore, Amartya Sen, Abhijit Banerjee). The people speak Bengali, which is known as the sweetest language of the world. The sweets of Bengal are also quite popular, but you will not find them elsewhere as Bengalis are usually lazy, and happy within their own boundaries :). People are usually simple and treat the guest as God. I hope you will like it!

Although, it is not true about all of India, the hilly/mountain regions, northeast regions are very clean compared to densely populated cities. it's not about education, it's just about cleanliness habits.

Hello dear, I belong to one of the cleanest cities of India: Ambikapur and I must say cleanliness is a joint effort. While people should have the habit of throwing their trash in the dustbin, the local government should also have a system to recycle the trash.
It all depends on the roots . By roots , I mean that South India has been invaded less than North India due which the roots are disturbed and people are less connected to their place . Sorry , I am unable to explain my views properly in English but I hope everyone will understand my point. 🙏🏻
My advice :- Stay away from touts , agents and local guides specially in north India. I love this video...this is the one video that has not criticised Indians for what they are...and everything in this video is accurate....my tip for foreigners would be 1. If you are from a developed country, there might be some shocks on how we do things here...but it is not bad as portrayed in media 2. Yeah pickpockets and theft is common in tourist area...but its okay to let your guard down once in a while...people who are close with you like a uber driver or hotel manager or the owner in your homestay might actually look out for you...if you are friendly they might even give tips on how to bargain and stuff.. 3. We may not follow same culture as westerners but most of the youngsters(in their 20s) in cities might be aware of your culture and will also acknowledge it....you can even talk about some global things like friends, K-Pop, BTS and stuff like that....Some of the Indian malls even screen some famous Hollywood movies to watch.... 4. Last but not the least....be friendly and try to learn some phrases of the local language...people really love it....whatever the place is...Indians really love to help the foreigners... After these tips and advices it all comes down to you are ready to take it.....some might find India enlightening some might find it just dirty...
valo... very nice... Subscribed you too... I'm from India and here in the U.S last 20+ years... every things you said about Inda is right... very practical...
You nailed it on the 'PaharGunj' thing... I am from Bangalore and I know I should not stay near any railway station or Major Bus station in any city... I look for Air bnb or OYO which is very popular in India in a residential area 10 kms away from the center ... That gives you the best stay experience..
The price is going up. That's what happens when Modi favours corporates. TRAI turned a blind eye while JIO exploited loopholes in our telecom regulations.
I liked your last point about the hotel, as you said most of indian doesn't stay in those hotel. Before giving the money first check the hotel rooms they will show to you.
I am a vegetarian.... But from what I have seen where I live (in South India), the most common meats eaten are usually chicken, goat and fish (mostly in coastal regions). Side note - this is only what I have seen but i don't really know much about other types of meat as I do not eat them.
Madurai is the best food destination in Tamilnadu and a must visit place. It’s actually called temple city and so it has very beautiful places to see and live in
Hi Ben! Thanks for making a realistic video. Come visit West Bengal, if you haven't already, we'll offer you some of best fish recipes you'll ever have. We also have mountains up north, jungles both in the north and south, wildlife, old temples, mosques and churches steeped in history, old towns - everything. We'd love to have you as guest.

15> talk to people. There are good amount of english speaking crowd in india to help you out. Indians are super friendly and great at small chit chat. Seek out friendly faces in a crowd and its bound to work out.
great video and well-traveled can make this type of video...last point is the best point which always came to my mind...you came India and choose paharganj to stay and make a vlog ''how much is dirty India? if you came from US to India than 1USD=70 INR.. WHY DID YOU STAY IN PAHARGANJ?
Banning westerners from staying in Paharganj will go a long way in fixing India's image. I lived in Delhi for 15 fucking years less than 2 miles from Paharganj and I've never been there - yet every fucking Western Vlogger seems to think that's the best place to stay and spend 75% of their videos focusing on assholes there. You'll notice it's only westerners that do this shit - you'll never find a Korean vlogger doing this bullshit.
More things foreigners should know about India 1) Beggars in religious places are often actually rich. Most of the beggars at traffic light are controlled by organised gangs. Some rare ones even kidnap kids and amputate arms and legs to make use of them for begging. If you want to help, donate food, money or clothes to those rough sleeping if you see them or give them to charitable trust that run shelters. 2) Drink packaged/bottled water as much as possible. It is likely the water that gets you the stomach bug. 3) Know how much to order and eat. Have an idea of what a portion size is and order to share. Ask the waiter. I have seen foreigners order 1 each, 2 side dishes, 1 starter and 1 dessert each. Most mains are meant for sharing between two unless you have a humongous appetite. Often 2 Biryanis can be shared by 3. If you eat too much you will get sick. 4) India does not have a tip culture, most places don't expect you to tip 5%, 10% or 20% of the bill. Because foreigners, especially from the USA tips so much, it has made expectation high. Rather tip only when the waiter or the restaurant goes out of their way to cater to you for some special needs. Do not tip more than 5%. Tip is good but not a must for delivery persons like Zomato etc. Small tips your cleaners, drivers gets you a lot if you stay for long term. 5) Trains are not how it is portrayed in media abroad. Long distance trains are descent and it is here where you interact with local people and gain experience. However don't do the mistake of boarding unreserved or non-ac compartments - that will be torture for foreigners, not because there's people above train, but general crowdedness, heat, lack of sleeping space and lack of hygienic toilets. I recommend the 3rd AC or 2nd AC. If you are a couple and require privacy, book 1st AC, but they cost as much as flight fare if not more. Some premium trains have pantry car and you can order food from the train. Check that out before buying a truckload of food before boarding. Other trains allow you to order from an App and it will get delivered to you at the station form a local caterer. I would not recommend that arrangement simply because sometime you need to find them when the train reaches and not the vice versa. It can be a hairy experience. 6) Always carry with you medicine for indigestion, fever, pain - all available over the counter. Never be shy of visiting a general practitioner if required. They are usually good and costs between $4-$10 a visit. 7) If you own an Indian SIM card, remember, Indians get scammed too, and most often by fellow Indians. Be very careful when dealing with tele-callers.
But according to my friends when they say 2 mins it is always more than 30 mins in some cases we have to remind them after 30 mins that your 2 mins is still running
You're right about the meds you can buy here in a pharmacy for tummy aches. Grape fruit seed extract, we here in India do not use. The best and a very effective Indian alternate for that is - gripe water for children. I know it says 'for babies' but works very well for weak stomachs and gives immediate results in adults, when they have unbalanced stomach acids. (Woodwards is a famous brand) Some Indians who eat/drink out a lot in different cities, tend to use this as one of their their go to methods. The other recommendation for travellers with irritated tummy I would give is - probiotics and prebiotic effervescent tablets on a daily basis all through their trip. That way you can enjoy the food and go back with a stronger and healthier stomach. (wellbeing is a good brand) I use both methods and they work well.

I love this video...this is the one video that has not criticised Indians for what they are...and everything in this video is accurate....my tip for foreigners would be
1. If you are from a developed country, there might be some shocks on how we do things here...but it is not bad as portrayed in media
Thanks Abirami, and I appreciate your tipa
I think you should also cover entertainment aspects when foreigners wants to stay for long period. Like Theaters, beaches, pubs, game, events.
valo... very nice...
👍
@@bjenks if you are visiting Bangalore, please be my guest... I live around farm land on the suburbs ... Ofcourse after this Covid situation 😀
Wow bro you are such a genuine person jai hind love from Agra
Thanks Himanshu, welcome
Get Jio sim/portable WiFi you'll get best speed internet cheapest in the world.
👍👍
The price is going up. That's what happens when Modi favours corporates. TRAI turned a blind eye while JIO exploited loopholes in our telecom regulations.
@@kshitijshekhar1144 I used to pay Rs.250 for 1gb that too 2g data on Airtel before jio. Now 1gb cost Rs.10 for high-speed 4g data in jio
@@general123ist you'll see now bro. JIO promised free voice calls forever when they entered the market. It's already getting expensive for me.
@@kshitijshekhar1144 oh really! They introduced free plans as promotion. Still it's cheapest in the world lol
I liked your last point about the hotel, as you said most of indian doesn't stay in those hotel. Before giving the money first check the hotel rooms they will show to you.
👍👍
Really appreciate when u said really good reasonable price for healthcare.... Great vlog ✋🤚
🙏
Kudos!! you studied very well about India and Indians. Each and everything you saying very true.
South Indian people are so hard working and awesome good people
👍👍
Great video.... u studied a lot about India
I am 🤓
I am a vegetarian.... But from what I have seen where I live (in South India), the most common meats eaten are usually chicken, goat and fish (mostly in coastal regions).
Side note - this is only what I have seen but i don't really know much about other types of meat as I do not eat them.
Great video , truly said India have 22 oficial language and more than 700 dilects present
Good info Vivek
Excellent ... U are an ambassador for India and Indian culture.... would be interesting to meet you in person
😊
Man! I'm so in love with your channel & I'm binge watching it ❤️
Madurai is the best food destination in Tamilnadu and a must visit place. It’s actually called temple city and so it has very beautiful places to see and live in
True, spent there 2 years👍🤛
Great, enlightening advice to tourists coming to India!
I would like to visit WB, looks beautiful there and such good food
Disgusting. West Bengali is the poorest country. Dirt, trash and poverty everywhere. Do invite him there. First tell Mamata to fix your state.
Thanks for the fact about india .
Great video.
Thanks Yashi
Ben I landed in one of your videos accidentally and I love that you live in Tamil Nadu. I live in the USA and excited to see all the places you visit in Thiruvannamalai. You are more venturous and very open. Awesome!!!
You are spot on indian punctuality ha ha ha...
Globalization has done amazing things to India. You are visiting the most modern times of India!!!
Hello! Glad to hear from you and hoping things are going well in the USA
You made some great points, bro 😃😃
Love your content, from the capital city of New Delhi, India :D
Lemme know if you ever come around here
Thanks KSTG! Will do ✌
i humble request to all the people and prime Minister, chief minister also... plz clean the city clean INDIA...!
This Prime minister is the FIRST PM who is Trying his BEST TO MAKE "CLEAN INDIA" a NATIONAL MOTTO, i have seen educated techies throwing THRASH ON ROADS !!! BE THE CHANGE
The ministers cannot clean everything we also need to contribute by not loitering.
People need to stop littering everywhere and it will change in a day.
IST is called Indian stretchable time, for a reason!!!😉
Indian Maintourism - Delhi-Jaipur(Rajasthan)-Agra(Uttar Pradesh)-Mathura. Offbeat for peace and tranquility - North Eastern States (7 Sisters and 1 brother) and Sikkim+Darjeeling. Adventure - Kerala. Nightlife-All the major cities. Party - GOA!! Best Sweets and foodie capital - Kolkata (West Bengal). Serene Beaches - Odisha. Most expensive and the most speedy lifestyle - Mumbai. All cities/states in India is unique and diverse, its like a mini universe in itself.
Thanks a lot brother for sharing all the important information with your Traveller friends.
My pleasure!
Lol ”2 mins” is soo true 😁. Cheers man, have fun. ✌🏼
When i see video about india i actually come to read comments if indians feeling proud
Check my last video then, about more reasons why Indians are successful in the USA. I focused mostly on the comments since they were so informative
15> talk to people. There are good amount of english speaking crowd in india to help you out. Indians are super friendly and great at small chit chat. Seek out friendly faces in a crowd and its bound to work out.
:)
great video and well-traveled can make this type of video...last point is the best point which always came to my mind...you came India and choose paharganj to stay and make a vlog ''how much is dirty India? if you came from US to India than 1USD=70 INR..
Thanks, yeah I agree with you, hopefully with better info they would avoid it
Good advice
Glad it was helpful!
I am coming to Tamil Nadu for my first trip abroad next month. I'm very excited! Thank you for these videos!
Have fun!
More things foreigners should know about India
1) Beggars in religious places are often actually rich.
The fun fact is that there are so many languages in India that you can't even count!!😊
Great bro ..!! Keep them coming ..! Need more videos on India ..!
Will do thanks BI
Thanks for telling the truth. Great information
Bro, if you just continue, you are going to be our next Karl Rock ... God bless you man....
thanks, I'm a big fan of Karl Rock's videos as well
But according to my friends when they say 2 mins it is always more than 30 mins in some cases we have to remind them after 30 mins that your 2 mins is still running
Haha, they would be good internet repair man
Best channel about India.
Thanks Tanmoy
(wellbeing is a good brand)
I use both methods and they work well.
Love from kerala👏👏👏come again👏😊😊
U can eat beef mostly in southern and northeast part of India
Okay yes. Not where I live on the east side but Kerala yes and probably other places

That barbeque sounds great, looking forward to Dal Lake too looks so beautiful

Hi Benjamin, In Tamilnadu people will not say Namasthey as greetings, We say Vanakkam to greet. Please for your information.
It's okay to eat whatever you feel like whether it is beef, pork or chicken. The constitution of India guarantees you that right.
And of course ...beef
Excellent bro!
