Bertie, you are a star! (and your dad did OK as well!) Well done Jon, great video and looking forward to the next part.
Thanks Tim. Bertie is a total star...he'll want his own channel soon.
Lovely to see you visiting Humberside airport. It's my home airfield and I love it. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, keep up the great work. Many thanks.
+Shaun Cole thanks Shaun.
I love the extra dimension that Bertie adds.
We became foster parents last summer and now have 11, 13 and 14 year old girls to distract us from the humdrum of every day life.
The youngest is very much like Bertie. She is a big distraction on her own when I'm driving.
Perhaps you have developed an "extra" sense from years of having production teams talking in your ear while yo talk to the Camera.
It is quite distracting. There is a pilot intercom isolation button which I have used from time to time!
Very nice video! Bertie seems a joy to fly with, you seem to be following all of the (few) Pax management techniques I've heard of, great job!
Thanks for watching!
An excellent production again Jon, so professional.
Great to see a new post Jon. Looking forward to part 2!
Cheers Marc.
Thanks for another great video Jon. Good pictures and audio. Looking forward to the next.
+Joe Heasley thanks Joe.
love it. great trip. great input from your son too.
Thanks.
Great flight Jon.! look forward to your second video :)
Thanks Peter.
Great video looking forward to part 2!
Thanks.
Great Video John, love how smooth you ride that plane. looking forward for part 2.
+Romel Gutierrez thank you Romel
I fly from Wickemby Aerdrome, you probably flew over it. Humberside is my local airport. Fantastic to fly into!
+TechLabz Humberside was certainly very pleasant.
Nice work Jon. Another excellent video.
Thanks Rory.
Sits just twigged to me that I'm a G-OR as well G-ATOR! Been watching you for some time and this has only just clicked!
cool reg!
Great video once again Jon
Thanks Ishaq
Another great video my friend! Miss ya!
Thanks Lewis. Miss you too my friend.
Nice flying and Bertie seems quite pleasant and relaxed with the whole situation. I guess it is mostly the what ifs that you have to worry about and not necessarily what actually happens.
I actually caught some footage of you in your day-job via a BBC livestream on youtube during the election night. I pretty much only know you as the flying reporter and not as the reporting pilot ;-).
Thanks. Ah, election night. That's all a blur now. Just about caught back up on sleep.
It's really good that Bertie is so enthusiastic, but I can see how it might be a little distracting! I flew Fairoaks back home to Earls Colne on Saturday over Biggin Hill. You've mentioned their PPR system before, we heard someone inbound without a PPR number. You could hear it in the controllers voice... he wasn't mad, just disappointed :)
They don't like it if you don't ppr
Superb Video as always
Thanks James.
Nicely managed John.
Thanks Andy.
Thank you Jon for another great video. I was Basic Service with Humberside during two legs of my QXC across the Humber (Shacklewell/Gamston/Beverley/Belmont-Shacklewell) last Thursday. Humberside Radar are really helpful. I called them up the next day to thank them for a lovely stress-free service. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll get the chance to drop in there. As usual Bertie takes it all in his stride once again. Info: where did you get that digital clock/stopwatch on your clipboard?
+Toffy B thanks. Humberside was great. I got the stopwatch from either pooleys, transair or pilot shop. Can't remember.
Ah got it: ASA Flight Timer, perfect. Thanks Jon.
What a lovely piper
thanks. i love it!
Humberside, my local! Where I learn to fly in a Warrior! What was your experience like flying in and out of EGNJ? I enjoyed the video!
+Kickee12 thanks. Great atc at Humberside.
Haha, great now I'm going to think of scattertat every time I hear that! Great video Jon :) #scattertat
Nice to hear from you Stefan.
The adventures of Bertie Biggles, I sense an idea formulating here.
Don't go giving him ideas. He'll want his own channel.
very nice thanks for sharing
+Lars Bjart thank you for watching.
I realy like your videos and look forward to your videos. One comment I would ask that you pull the mic boom a little further from your mouth as there is quite a bit of breathing noise when you are not talking.
Thanks Fred.
A twix, it should be an Aero..haha :) Nice video again.
+CKUKMale thanks.
nice video John..
Thanks Andrew.
Love the videos. Are you planning a cross channel trip?
+AArcturus thanks. I've done a couple.
The Flying Reporter any plans for a cross channel video. I'd love to understand all the extra requirements and hearing French ATC
If you don't mind me asking, but how much did this flight cost including your return leg? The reason why I'm asking should I spend my money on a ppl and keep it current or spend my money on gliding which is a lot cheaper but also just as rewarding. Thank you for reading, happy flying
+peanuts2105 our group hourly rate is £100, but I pay a monthly too. The flight was about 3.5 hours each way biggin to Dundee.
Bertie's a character and no mistake :)
Yup!
Bertie is the star in a reasonably priced plane! Scattertat isn't that from Star Wars? Another great video may all your take offs be followed by crash landings sorry .....landings!
Thank you!
"We are crash landing!! - no offence though" haha
He will want commission for the on board entertainment.
