- As I already promised in the unboxing of the Chanel vintage vanity case, I want to share with you, how to convert a vintage Chanel Vanity Case into a Crossbody bag! I used hooks from Amazon and a chain-strap from a preloved bag, to convert my Chanel vanity bag into a beautiful handbag, that can be worn crossbody. What do you think about this handbag conversion?

I think you did an excellent job! The advantages of converting a vanity bag are that you could still use it as such, and if not, then you have created a unique piece that nobody else has with this exact chain/D-ring combination. I've done something similar years ago with a red patent cosmetic pouch (not Chanel, unfortunately), and when it was no longer my handbag style, I switched it back to it's original purpose and am still using it daily for my makeup.

This is fabulous! ❤. The one thing I thought would be a problem was finding hooks that wouldn’t move. This is perfect! It looks great on you. The smell should dissipate once you let it get some air and you’ve been using it so it should get better.

Actually that was one of the steps I took aswell 😁 - but I was somewhat to early with it, which gave the bag a super strange combinational sent of musty lavender 😂💜 - should try again now, after I neutralized the worst of it

What an interesting video. You did a great job! For a short while I’ve been thinking of buying the new LV toiletry pouches trio and converting one of them into a bag but ended up with the same thought as you used to have in the past. I think however there is a big difference in converting a 700€ chanel vanity and a LV canvas pouch given the current Chanel price while with LV it gives you a saving of just a few hundreds euros. I will remain being a conversion-sceptic but I’m sure you’ll rock your new bag. 🤩
