I dunno man i think Kharns character development is quite well written. Our character starts as an inspiring warrior, friendly to his comrades, eager to prove his worth and loyalty to imperium. Sees a shattered, broken man who was promised to be the salvation of him and his brothers. Heart broken yet determined, he tries his best to help his father and get his approval. Witnesses a demigods decend into madness further and further every day, and still chooses to be at his side. Realising he is falling into the same madness, he tries to fix his mistakes but its too late. So he sticks to the only thing that let him feel alive. War. Until he literally becomes the embodiment of it. Bloodlust overwhelms him completely, to the point he can not differ friend from foe. As long as the blood spills, it matters not where it comes from. Not even if its from the veins of brothers he once would die for. He becomes an echo of the thirsting blood gods laughters. He forgets brotherhood, forgets his fathers love, forgets reason and sanity. Now, there is only war. Kharn was simply a son craving his fathers love, while trying to care for his brothers as much as possible. He couldent just let his innocent desire towards his fathers approval go, and it practicly killed him. Letting his need for Angrons love get the better of his sanity is relateable if you ever found yourself in a toxic parent-child relationship. His mad warmongery is also relateable for all of us found ourselves doing what harms us for the sake of escaping despair. The guys story is relateable tragedy. I like it.
I suppose you could say Khârn was a good character, but his tragedy is that he traded boss status for beast status. Mind you the old lore did say that he’s never come as close to death as he did after his duel with Sigismund. Let that sink in, only Sigismund has given Khârn that much trouble. In 10,000 years not even the various greater daemons of the dark gods. Infighting with the traitor legions and even the occasional cheeky Black Crusade he’s never been beaten that badly. Even Celestine couldn’t match Sigismund’s sheer balls to the walls git gudness. I still like him as the entire point of his character arc is him losing himself in a rather sad way.
*Orfeo Cassandar, an Ultramarine captain kicked Kharns teeth in betrayer. And he did so while mocking him all while requiring Angron to save his ass from Orfeo. Not to Mention, Sevetar could beat him too last I remember.*
hey majorkill... what do you think about the world eaters getting their own codex? and the article at warhammer community states that "it isnt quite as angry as you might expect - one legion is conspicuous in its absence." Maybe more world eaters can kind of overcome the nails like this apothecary in fabius' warband. Or khorne realised his legion need less autism and more honor
That quote is in reference to the normal chaos marine codex. It's less angry because the world eater models have been removed. So when the world eaters codex drops, you can be assured they will still be angry boys
It would be interesting to see khorne become more martial and less berserker. I’d love to see WE’s get a bonus to plasma weapons and a unit to give shooting armies something to think about other than berserkers in rhinos.
@@zinogrekriller4141 Thats why I'm interested in their codex blurbs and their (probably) 8 paths you can take your warband down. Gonna add a lot of much needed flavor.
I kinda like how they don't give Kharn an overly complicated story arc, because it represents Korne so much better that way. He just wants to go around and have really good duels with decent opponents, plus murder a few thousand randos on top. His isn't interested in schemes and long term plans in the same way Tzeench is, and just goes where the fighting takes him. Boring or not, this means Kharn does represent his chosen god truthfully.
This. He doesn't NEED to have deep and nuanced lore, the guy is a walking murder machine who kills some of the biggest hitters in the setting and that's why people like him. He gets his odd moments of more meaningful stuff here and there too, like his duels with Erebus and Sigismund. Kharn doesn't need to be a complicated guy, just let the angry man swing his axe at things and cheer him on people.
If I recall correctly, the line that eventually won Angron over was when Kharn said that they would be his 'Eaters of Worlds', in reference to the gladiators on his homeworld he left behind, who were called the 'Eaters of Cities' I think. Neat stuff. Also, why is UA-cam telling me that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is related content? XD
Because the algorithm is dumb. It showed me snooker as related content -- they're, uh, both British, I guess? I mean, it's a rabbit hole that was kinda cool, Ronnie O'Sullivan is one hell of a snooker player.
I feel if Argel Thal did live Kharn would still have been Khorne's Avatar but just as Argel is the example of the balance of human and Chaos Kharn would be the balance of Khorne showing off the good and the bad sides of the Blood God.
I admit I kind of like new Kharne. Just having a beseeker who takes skulls just appearing on a battlefield and killing everyone and then just charging off to the next one has a certain charm to it. Kind of like a rage murder koolaid man. Also it be cool if he shouted “What’s good!” When kicked in the door would be hilarious.
Khan is supposed to be a bad guy...BUT doom guy is the same. Regardless I would like nailless Khan in the current setting. His qualities still fit Khorne's MO. Honour,glory,rage....melee combat...perhaps have him seek revenge on Angron for turning the legion into mindless berserkers.
I don’t think he will, Kharn loves his gene father more than his legion. He butchered brothers that he fought with for centuries, just for his father. His loyalty will never be challenged, unless Chaos itself needs him to kill Angron, and even then he probably wouldn’t. Kharn is a Custodes and Angron is the Emperor, he’s just that loyal.
he straight up reminds me of Nosferatu Zod ''the destroyer'' from berserk, he is a daemon just like all the other apostles but he is only focused on battle and even becomes a semi rival-sort of friend to guts later on. love characters like that that break the mold of a stereotypical bad guy.
I wonder how Guts would fit in the setting of 40k. Because I can see how berserk can fit the setting of the 40k universe, with the chaos gods being the replacement of god hand, Guts being called the Black Guardsman, and goes around with the mark of sacrifice from all chaos gods, and travels from world to world, avoiding the inquisition and killing any demons or cultists, while saving his love from chaos. I now want Berserk in the 40K universe.
@@csmrookie9600 nah I think the god hand would just be a group of daemon princes, not the chaos god’s themselves, and I still think he would be called the black swordsman. But other than that yeah everything else would be spot on.

It turns out having "lobotomy" as your legion culture makes for the most boring legion. Same goes for skarbrand. Baldemort has an excellent tale of an honourable, loyal Bretonian knight being drawn in by the martial discipline, prowess and accomplishment in combat of Khornes armies and that actually made sense. It's possible to write a good khornate character, they just don't in GW.
they obviously aren't that interesting, but to say they're the most boring region is a tad much. I feel like a whole legion comprized of only bloodthirsty berzerkers is somewhat necessary.
My favorite thing about Kharn is he has his own skull pile next to Khornes throne . In its own Macabre way its kinda adorable. Like a proud dad. Look what my son did
World Eaters: "You have broken your own legion! You shall forever be known as the Betrayer!" Khorne: "Khorne doesn’t care from where the blood flows. Get gud scrub. Lmao."
"Wow this moment is really awesome this is such a good scene! Man the writers really gave us a ANNNNNDDDD they teleported the guy losing the fight away again that's great love that."
The kill counter is a cool idea which I’m surprised more marines don’t have Imagine if he gets a panic attack from a battle when he doesn’t get it up by anything
Mentioning how Kharn didn't counsel or calm Angron down but egged him on just made me realize something, a lot of the traitors had first officers/ sidekicks who were more like them than they were. Mortarion hated tyrants, Typhus resisted living under Mortarion's command and tried to make his own way. Magnus was powerful but also arrogant and thought that everything could be fixed with sorcery, Ahriman thought he could make the Thousand Sons impervious to pain and turned them to dust in the process. Abaddon never questioned Horus and his tactics are incredibly similar, he has a charisma that apparently gets a lot of people on side and he seems to like spear-tip assaults. Meanwhile, if memory serves, at least Sanguinius, Corax and Guilliamen made room for their captains and commanders to question them and express their own views. I'm not as familiar with the loyalists as I am with the traitors because I collect chaos but the temperament of most of the loyalist Primarchs seem to allow their sons some autonomy of thought whereas the traitors seemed to prefer those who were just miniature versions of themselves. Notable exception: Sevetar seemed to have his head screwed on a lot better than Curze ever did.
Some old lore tells that he punched the gates of Emperor's palace so hard that ceramite on his right arm shattered and he never tried to get new piece of armour since
My favourite moment with Kharn he's not even there. Lotara is talking to the Mechanicus adept who's remaking Gorechild for Kharn and she asks if he was able to collect all of the teeth needed to reforge the axe. The adept says that he didn't but still found some spare ones, Lotara then thinks that she knows exactly what Kharn must have done. There was a Micadragon skeleteon aboard the World Eaters flag ship and she reckons Kharn just went there, knocked out all the teeth from the skeleton and then used those as extra replacements for Gorechild.
My personal headcanon is that Kharn's kill counter on the inner lens of his helmet is actually a lot higher than one million, and that the number is so high he cannot see out of that lens, making him effectively blind in one eye with how much he's slaughtered.
I can't even imagine what it would take to kill one million regular people in hand to hand combat let alone astartes, ad-mech, guardsmen, and whatever else the imperium had to try to throw against kharn like brittle knives against a mountain.
You’ve never lead me astray with your sponsors and I’m actually looking for good meals I can just throw in after work and not feel gross about. You’re one of the few creators that when you say you found something you like and they’re sponsoring you I actually listen.
So if khorne is all about blood, murder, hatred, and honor why is kharn just a living meat grinder with only those first three in mind? Unless there is parts of his love for honorable battle still in there?
From what i understand when Slaneesh was born jt somehow influenced the other 3 into going way more into tha darker side of themselves than the lighter side More blood, more plagues, more plans, less of everything good
Honour in that, the best kills are the hard fought ones against worthy foes. The bigger & badder they are, the more glorious the victory. They aren’t going to use a super weapon to wipe out a planet, they’d rather personally kill everyone in glorious melee combat.

Any and all help would be much appreciated because that was a sick video. I can’t even remember who the video was about. And before everyone says it, it’s not the Fabius bike video on top ten who could defeat him
To answer about Khârn’s death at the Siege of Terra: Khârn’s body was dragged away by a bunch of World Eater captains. They started arguing, the one of them kill another in a rage. The bloodshed made Khârn shoot up and become revived. In other words, warp spaghetti.
Their is a novel about Kharn being found under a pile of bodies as the World Eaters fled Terra. That book explains how Kharn survives and forges the legion a new.

@@vlkafenryka788 Sounds like something a Primarch would say.
I still like him as the entire point of his character arc is him losing himself in a rather sad way.
but it is said that kharn knows the fight was not to the death, therefore his effort was not as great as if it were to be to the death.
*Orfeo Cassandar, an Ultramarine captain kicked Kharns teeth in betrayer. And he did so while mocking him all while requiring Angron to save his ass from Orfeo. Not to Mention, Sevetar could beat him too last I remember.*
@@konradcurze8942 probably plot at that point, you know good vs bad
The leader of the dark angels could have killed him but would have died himself and failed his mission. Which is why he didn't.
Cus he never met Ghaskull Skull Thraka sadly, that Orc is far worse than he is.
hey majorkill... what do you think about the world eaters getting their own codex? and the article at warhammer community states that "it isnt quite as angry as you might expect - one legion is conspicuous in its absence." Maybe more world eaters can kind of overcome the nails like this apothecary in fabius' warband. Or khorne realised his legion need less autism and more honor
That quote is in reference to the normal chaos marine codex. It's less angry because the world eater models have been removed. So when the world eaters codex drops, you can be assured they will still be angry boys
@@Angron_Of_Nuceria but i would acutally like to see that they get more character
It would be interesting to see khorne become more martial and less berserker. I’d love to see WE’s get a bonus to plasma weapons and a unit to give shooting armies something to think about other than berserkers in rhinos.
It's not like gw has ever figured out how to do a melle oriented army codex properly.

Also, why is UA-cam telling me that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is related content? XD

I feel if Argel Thal did live Kharn would still have been Khorne's Avatar but just as Argel is the example of the balance of human and Chaos Kharn would be the balance of Khorne showing off the good and the bad sides of the Blood God.

We'll most likely see some major development in the upcoming world eaters codex.
I don’t think he will, Kharn loves his gene father more than his legion. He butchered brothers that he fought with for centuries, just for his father. His loyalty will never be challenged, unless Chaos itself needs him to kill Angron, and even then he probably wouldn’t.

Finally a Berserk fan! Glad I'm not the only one... Yep Kharn absolutely reminds me of Zod the immortal

Baldemort has an excellent tale of an honourable, loyal Bretonian knight being drawn in by the martial discipline, prowess and accomplishment in combat of Khornes armies and that actually made sense. It's possible to write a good khornate character, they just don't in GW.
Some people need boring. But balanced with badasss aesthetic. If you want the opposite of this, slaanesh and EC is an option.

Imagine if he gets a panic attack from a battle when he doesn’t get it up by anything
Dude the best part of your videos is the ending when Setra comes in yells out “BOW TO ME!” While happy go lucky unicorn glitter music plays.
Erebus killed Argal Tal because he couldn’t let go of “their Lady” after she’d died and had Erebus resurrect her, iirc making her a perpetual.

"He's rammed a Blood Angels Strike Cruiser with his own ship..."

From what i understand when Slaneesh was born jt somehow influenced the other 3 into going way more into tha darker side of themselves than the lighter side
