This tragic accident shows how fragile life is. Houston needs to make traffic enforcement great again. Drivers today ignore traffic laws and endanger everyone, including themselves, on the roadways. This month alone, I’ve seen four drivers passing on the shoulder, indicating how neglected enforcement has become. Traffic enforcement has sadly been reduced to accident recovery and roadside assistance across Houston.
I agree with the comment except for the "great again." You know when the car was first invented, children disproportionately were killed moreso by cars than anyone else. That's the past. When I see the words "Great Again" I think either failure, or 'lower quality than we now have.' Let's just fix things normally everywhere for normal people. Now as an informed person who looked up facts, i can safely say: Police departments need to be of a certain size (in terms of manpower) proportional to the size of the city. Using this metric, the Houston PD has been understaffed for almost a decade as Houston continues to grow and expand. So yes, the person I'm responding to is correct... the same way a broken clock is correct twice a day. More traffic police are needed.
I’m always on edge when driving on our freeways here. There is so much happening with people rushing and being distracted by other things.
