I totally agree about the soothing nature of her voice. I get a tickle out of how excited she gets to share things with us! And, she is so calm - even when her kids are noisy in the background lol! life happens right?! But I know that would rattle some people on camera lol!

This is a wonderful video. Thank you! Oh my, LOVE IT when I heard the 'same' tone in such an experienced knitter....gasping for breath when the needle slipped off of the stitches. I thought that PANIC sound was only for me because I'm a newby. When that happens with quite a stitch pattern, the panic is like a volcano uncorking, lol.

My gosh, Denise, this is amazing!! Up until now, I've been tying a knot when changing colour and I've always hated doing that and how it looks. Also, for those of us to whom 1.5 inches of ribbing feels like 1.5 miles of ribbing, what a great way to break up the monotony by changing colour!! I've now tied my last ever knot in my socks!. You're a magician who shows the audience how the trick is done while performing the magic! X

So, so, so helpful! I've been anxious about changing color in the ribbing but not any longer! So far I've made your No Fear Shorty socks (3 times) and your One More Step socks. A good friend told me about you. You are an amazing teacher. So many tips and tricks that have already helped me so much! I love that you knit in real-time and that some videos show the same thing several times. I know that you “worry” about being repetitive because some people don’t like it, but as you say, they can fast forward! Personally, I like seeing it several times. THANK YOU for putting these videos together.

Ah, Denise, pure magic!!! And thanks for the link to the continental version. Your repeated demonstrations on the video were wonderful. It took a lot of rewinds to get my first color change done, but that’s what’s wonderful about video. I can see you do it as many times as I need. When I think of how I've struggled to start new colors of yarn, or even add a new skein when I run out. This method is going to change my knitting life forever for the better.

Yes!!! Jogless knitting😆😆😆😆 I'll finally get to learn this properly!!!! And hopefully a much better way of joining new colors compared to the way I do it now (not the best lol). Just started the video, can't wait to see the rest and the next videos🤗🤗🤗🤗
Okay, what the freak!!! Knitting witch magic🤣🤣🤣🤯🤯🤯 knit the initial color change row, knit only, trap the tails, and there's a crazy loop, then you pull the tails to erase the loop and that creates the ultimate join and jogless knit. My mind is blown. I LOVE IT!!!
I can use this on not just socks but any project😄😄😄😄😄😄
Denise, this sounds crazy but this video/ learning this new method is exactly what my mind needs to kickstart my husband's birthday today, April 12. Happiness created vs sadness (you know about my loss), thank you for this video/ teaching moment 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 this really does put my mind in a happy place... gives me the right mind set to start the day & celebrate his day vs being terribly depressed over it. Another wonderful tutorial! I know you've stated the woven ends will not come out, I'll have to try it. Given the slack was so easy to tighten, it seems to me it would be that easy to come undone....but I have nothing to lose. Thanks for the great video, looking forward to the next one.

I totally understand your concern about the ends coming out but I've never had that happen...not once!!! Is there a first time for everything, yes...but I really think you'll be fine!! You may want to weave in for a few extra stitches on each end just to be safer.

Whatever I did, I tried to do what you said, I wove in the ends - it didn’t work cuz I still got jogs. Some of them were better than the others, but now I’m sad because I just kept going despite things not working out as the video said and can’t figure out what I did wrong. Seems to me it has to do with the very first weave stitch. Guess I’ll need to watch it again. I’m making baby socks in the Hudson Bay colors to match a baby blanket.

Denise thank you kindly for such an in-depth and helpful instruction. I stumbled on this video while making some striped socks for the family. Just a few questions. Do you trim the ends after blocking? Have you used this technique for all over ribbed socks. Mine are 3x1 ribbed leg just wondering how you manage the purl stitches. Thanks again I advance. Take care hope all is well with you and yours.

You are my queen. I am using dk wt yarns to do your color change in a cuff…knit the row of plain knit stitch . Yowza! I have a weirdness a stitch 64, but it appears to be 63/64 or 98.4%. I am a then going to fish kiss lips on this test sock. It’s 95 or nothing on that patented heel. 16 pages of instructions is intimidating.

It’s funny....when you mentioned about knitting in your ends I didn’t realize this is what you meant. I did this on a pair of my first socks where I did contrasting heels and cuffs and toes. But I made the mistake you mentioned and pulled the yarn too tight which meant I struggled to actually get the sock on 🙄 now I know not to do that! Thank you. I do this when crocheting and thought I could do it knitting but I obviously got the technique wrong.

Although I learned the weaving in technique when doing Fairisle colourwork, for some strange reason I never used it in my socks. Thanks for the reminder of what a beautiful technique this is.
