Snuck into the playoffs that year got crushed games 1 and 2 against the massively favored Celtics big three. Heading into game 3 no one gave the Hawks a chance that game, people thought the arena would be empty, but lo and behold the atmosphere was absolutely electric and Joe Johnson and the Hawks put on a show at home, where they won every game and extended the series to 7 games. Joe really lifted the team from perennial punch line to a long stretch of respectability, too bad they had a lame duck coach or they would have likely had more playoff success with Joe. One of the great players of the 2000s and early 2010s

Always loved Joe's style of play: Clutch shooter, probably one of the most underrated, almost too many to count. Smooth touch when driving to the basket. Wish the Rockets had kept him a bit longer and given him more time off the bench back in '18.
I wouldn’t say underrated. The hawks paid him a lot of money at the time. He was basically done after his stay with jazz. His last good playoff series was when the jazz beat the clippers in 2017.

I love this brand of basketball. You still had 2 bigs on the floor, we saw iso on the mid range, more post ups, no 3-4 steps, no blatant carries in front of the ref. The game is damn near unwatchable now
