    This movie was so good overall. If you are the person into forensic files or cold case files. You might be able to identify, who is this pretty much based on. I enjoy the family perspective of the killer with a family front and town role model.

    He was your average Mr. Nice Guy - above reproach and so personable.... aren't they all??? Amazing how one little piece of torn up paper will open a young mind to feel uncomfortable enough without being able to word it but will start investigating and then bingo! I think Dylan's portrayal was eerily too calm and charismatic with the way he lied so brazenly and to a young mind there's no way he'd not believe his dad. Well written and acted. That young man grew into a fully grown one after all this. Thanks.

    Just finished watching and I liked this movie a lot. They did an amazing job for a low budget movie. The flow out the gate with its writing, how they talk, acted, expression just hooks you like ohhh okay I’m down lol. Now if your looking for horror you have the wrong mind set, it’s more of a crime mystery detective movie and it 100% scratches that itch you never knew it needed scratching. It just a interesting movie with how you get to know the characters and how it move forward. Every word they say just flow and doesn’t get boring which is amazing to see especially if your down bad after watching back to back horrible movies like me.
    No spoiler but people say the ending is unrealistic, bad, didn’t like it etc and I disagree it was amazing and shocking I got chills when the sound came in at the end omg. The ending to me was good and realistic cuz if it went the others way it would effect harder like lesser evil type.
    My only nitpick but not really is I wish I WISH the two main characters guy/girl just hugged more especially in the broken house like bruh I felt the vibe being emotional and I needed them to hug like damn lol but overall a good recommend movie to watch if your looking for a nice interesting movie.
    It’s not 10/10 but it isn’t 5/10 like it’s solid 7/10 your gonna be hook cuz it like a mystery vibe and who doesn’t like that when it done right.

    This movie totally surprised me with how good it was. I had zero expectations, and it ended up being the best movie I’ve watched all year, even though it’s heavily inspired by a prolific killer. It’s 100% its own movie. Hats off to the writers, directors, producers, and phenomenal cast.

    I just watched this movie today,1/8/23,on TUBI. I was so engrossed in how this was going to play out. But unlike everyone else, I'm so mad at the son for not following through & the ending. 🤷🏾‍♀️And as someone else below said: did the kidnapped lady survive or not? If she did survive, how did she not see them since surely they had to wait until dark in order to smuggle the father out? Who found the father? So many unanswered questions for me.

    What an astonishing movie. Great characters (especially the father) and performamces. I also appriciated the representation of that sense of oppression which lodges in religious communities or families, made of a constant deprivation of privacy(also in your own thoughts) and of the obsessing involvement in forced hobbies and collective activities (e.g. The coupon scene; the campings). That made my breathe heavier more than the rest.

      Braindead asf, defies logic and probably the stupidest movie ive seen period.
      Kid makes horrible decisions that defy logic, the dad is a boyscout leader and leaves boyscout knots at the crime scenes yet no1 suspects him? The lady who almost dies never calls the cops? (With evidence, fingerprints/dna all over her house)
      The kids "fake a suicide" while the dad has head injuries, theyre obv not smart enough to fool any detective @ the suicide scene (footprints, head injury, fingerprints (theyre not wearing gloves) etc, etc.) I think that the majority of the people saying this is good in the comments are bots and/or retarded... how would anyone call this movie good?

    Just finished watching this on Netflix and thought it was well made with strong performances from all the key actors. The father who plays the serial killer reminded me of both BTK and Russell Williams. It would be devastating for a child to find out their father was a serial killer and I get why he chose to kill him rather than turn him in to the police, it would obviously wreck the family who would probably have to move and they could never get away from the stigma. He chose to kill his father so his mother and sister could move on only thinking what he was like for them and have only good memories.

They assumed he must be in the womans house since he had tied his signature knot which they saw him do the previous day. They killed the dad by taking him out in the woods and setting up a camp site which he often did,then they tried to create a scene where he shot himself, thats why we see the son holding up a gun on the dads head in the end.However the cops seem not to buy it sincce the Dad was very good with guns therefore he couldnt have accidentally shot himself and he didnt seem to have committed suicide. It was a bizarre and lazy choice. The suspenseful scenes could have been WAY SCARIER with appropriate music. Take the shining for example.... the movie isn’t terrifying on its own. It’s they masterful scoring that at least doubles the suspense. Anyone els agree that the scoring was very Harry Potter?

    This movie is underwhelming. I don’t mind a slow burn thriller but there are many times it falls short of being great. Very very very slow with no reward during pivotal scenes. There are times when you think, ok, it’s going to get good. Then, boom, hardly anything. Just boring. Felt like a lifetime drama with better acting. Great idea with a bad execution. This is why I never trust reviews most people don’t understand what it takes to make a decent film. But to each their own I guess.

    • @infinitespace8325
      @infinitespace8325 5 років тому +1

      I’m usually very complicated when it comes to cinema, but this film was very good. A rather classic scenario but one that knows how to differentiate itself with small, unpredictable details. I think you didn’t like the film because you didn’t understand it. Just out of curiosity, what are your top 3 favorite movies ?

    • @jjeree90
      @jjeree90 5 років тому +2

      Infinite Space I disagree. To assume I didn’t like it because I didn’t understand it is harsh. I understood it quite well, but I still found it boring. It was not a complicated film. They didn’t lead you to believe one thing and turned out to be something else. Overly predictable and just left me wanting more. Like I said before I would not consider this a thriller but more of a drama. Just not my cup of tea..... A top 3 is hard to choose from but to narrow it down to thrillers off the top of my head I would name The Game (1997), se7en, and most recently Hereditary.

    Liked the movie but did not like the ending.
    Instead of turning him in to the authorities, and letting all the victims families finally get some justice, he selfishly does this.
    Even if they had killed him, and calling the cops was even better. Get this filthy animal off this earth, and let the families then heal.

      Seems to be based of the actual BTK killer. Look him up very similar story but the movie puts it's own twist on it.

    So we have Nancy Drew and a Hardy Boy tracking a serial killer instead of the FBI. This movie took a serious topic and treated it as a joke.

    • @Tata-bd9nx

      I think its a very refreshing angle, since most serial killer movies show from the side of the cops trying to figure things out. Which we've seen alot, we dont even need a movie to see that, there are lots of true crime movies for that. We rarely see from the kids perspective, living with a serial killer, suspecting them, the brainwash once you discover hem, fear of letting the world know etc
