This movie was so good overall. If you are the person into forensic files or cold case files. You might be able to identify, who is this pretty much based on. I enjoy the family perspective of the killer with a family front and town role model.
He was your average Mr. Nice Guy - above reproach and so personable.... aren't they all??? Amazing how one little piece of torn up paper will open a young mind to feel uncomfortable enough without being able to word it but will start investigating and then bingo! I think Dylan's portrayal was eerily too calm and charismatic with the way he lied so brazenly and to a young mind there's no way he'd not believe his dad. Well written and acted. That young man grew into a fully grown one after all this. Thanks.
Just finished watching and I liked this movie a lot. They did an amazing job for a low budget movie. The flow out the gate with its writing, how they talk, acted, expression just hooks you like ohhh okay I’m down lol. Now if your looking for horror you have the wrong mind set, it’s more of a crime mystery detective movie and it 100% scratches that itch you never knew it needed scratching. It just a interesting movie with how you get to know the characters and how it move forward. Every word they say just flow and doesn’t get boring which is amazing to see especially if your down bad after watching back to back horrible movies like me. No spoiler but people say the ending is unrealistic, bad, didn’t like it etc and I disagree it was amazing and shocking I got chills when the sound came in at the end omg. The ending to me was good and realistic cuz if it went the others way it would effect harder like lesser evil type. My only nitpick but not really is I wish I WISH the two main characters guy/girl just hugged more especially in the broken house like bruh I felt the vibe being emotional and I needed them to hug like damn lol but overall a good recommend movie to watch if your looking for a nice interesting movie. It’s not 10/10 but it isn’t 5/10 like it’s solid 7/10 your gonna be hook cuz it like a mystery vibe and who doesn’t like that when it done right.

If she did survive, how did she not see them since surely they had to wait until dark in order to smuggle the father out? Who found the father? So many unanswered questions for me.
So the lady who got saved by the kids at the end did n't even wonder what the hell happened to the intruder? she was not a tiny bit curious, or did not even try to call the cops??

What an astonishing movie. Great characters (especially the father) and performamces. I also appriciated the representation of that sense of oppression which lodges in religious communities or families, made of a constant deprivation of privacy(also in your own thoughts) and of the obsessing involvement in forced hobbies and collective activities (e.g. The coupon scene; the campings). That made my breathe heavier more than the rest.
Spoiler alert!!!! I like the fact how they portrayed Cloverhich killer as a true psychopath. Manipulative AF with zero empathy and you saw it when he tried to kill his own son.

Kid makes horrible decisions that defy logic, the dad is a boyscout leader and leaves boyscout knots at the crime scenes yet no1 suspects him? The lady who almost dies never calls the cops? (With evidence, fingerprints/dna all over her house) The kids "fake a suicide" while the dad has head injuries, theyre obv not smart enough to fool any detective @ the suicide scene (footprints, head injury, fingerprints (theyre not wearing gloves) etc, etc.) I think that the majority of the people saying this is good in the comments are bots and/or retarded... how would anyone call this movie good?

Easily the best serial killer movie I've ever seen. Excellent acting by everyone, was on my nerves the whole time watching. The ending was sad and also satisfying.

Dennis Rader was a cub scout leader, worked for security so had access to his victims, took pictures just like the guy in this movie. I am a big fan of series mindhunter, after watching this thriller series on Netflix, i loved it so much, binge watched whole night but get disappointed its 3rd season got cancelled and leave me with the curiosity, what happened to the btk killer as it made a huge suspense running over both season. But now i get to know there is a seperate movie based on that serial killer. This is on my next watchlist.

Just finished watching this on Netflix and thought it was well made with strong performances from all the key actors. The father who plays the serial killer reminded me of both BTK and Russell Williams. It would be devastating for a child to find out their father was a serial killer and I get why he chose to kill him rather than turn him in to the police, it would obviously wreck the family who would probably have to move and they could never get away from the stigma. He chose to kill his father so his mother and sister could move on only thinking what he was like for them and have only good memories.
Not exactly a new premise but it does look good, Remember "Disturbia" with Shia LaBeouf?? That was similar story except it was the neighbor that they suspected and was one of Shia LaBeouf's first movies that made him famous before he became a completely insane, demented murder in real life! left a lot of unanswered questions. how did they find the lady from the grocery store house. why didn't they ever call the police. how did they get rid of the dad, did they take him out to the woods or what since they don't drive....to many questions
@@dudemynameiscat No,they didnt track his phone to the womans house, although they had turned his gps on to track his whereabouts,which lead them to follow him to the supermarket and the womans house before, this day when he attacked the woman he left his phone on his bed @ home, i think intentionally, since killers have known cops can track where their phones ping, so i guess he chooses to leave it in his house just to be extra careful. They assumed he must be in the womans house since he had tied his signature knot which they saw him do the previous day. They killed the dad by taking him out in the woods and setting up a camp site which he often did,then they tried to create a scene where he shot himself, thats why we see the son holding up a gun on the dads head in the end.However the cops seem not to buy it sincce the Dad was very good with guns therefore he couldnt have accidentally shot himself and he didnt seem to have committed suicide. They suspect foul play
Loved this movie but the scoring was a HUGE LET DOWN. The music during the suspenseful parts reminded me of Harry Potter or countless whimsical children’s movies I grew up on. It was a bizarre and lazy choice. The suspenseful scenes could have been WAY SCARIER with appropriate music. Take the shining for example.... the movie isn’t terrifying on its own. It’s they masterful scoring that at least doubles the suspense. Anyone els agree that the scoring was very Harry Potter?

There are times when you think, ok, it’s going to get good. Then, boom, hardly anything. Just boring. Felt like a lifetime drama with better acting. Great idea with a bad execution. This is why I never trust reviews most people don’t understand what it takes to make a decent film. But to each their own I guess.

What a weak beginning. It seems you want this to be believable. It is a work truck, the girl knows him. Who would think it's his truck. Only made that way because not imaginative to come up with a reason the girl thought the pic was his. Please write better.
Liked the movie but did not like the ending. Instead of turning him in to the authorities, and letting all the victims families finally get some justice, he selfishly does this. Even if they had killed him, and calling the cops was even better. Get this filthy animal off this earth, and let the families then heal.

I think its a very refreshing angle, since most serial killer movies show from the side of the cops trying to figure things out. Which we've seen alot, we dont even need a movie to see that, there are lots of true crime movies for that. We rarely see from the kids perspective, living with a serial killer, suspecting them, the brainwash once you discover hem, fear of letting the world know etc

I think its a very refreshing angle, since most serial killer movies show from the side of the cops trying to figure things out. Which we've seen alot, we dont even need a movie to see that, there are lots of true crime movies for that. We rarely see from the kids perspective, living with a serial killer, suspecting them, the brainwash once you discover hem, fear of letting the world know etc
