- The Turtle Island Quartet performs Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" from their CD "Have You Ever Been...? The Music of Jimi Hendrix and David Balakrishnan" at LA's Grand Performances outdoor series August 28th 2010.
Wow, there's rock and there's an excellent and inspiring tribute to a rock song , these guys know how to rock the shit out of those strings , Thanks for sharing that masterpiece
....... chilled beer would go down well with Dylan's acoustic version. Perhaps gin or bourbon on the rocks with Hendrix's electrified version or maybe fine wine after a hearty meal with these guys' stringed version. Kudos to all to masterpiece of a song. Cheers !!!!!
Wow from John Mayer's version to this one......enjoyed them both as much.
Take me to Earth baby! Well done.
I listen to this on my sport bike every day!!!!
Goes hard
Wow, be still my heart
One of my favavorite songs !!! Genius musicians
My god the original is already good, and when this reached 3:18 my head almost bobbed off my neck to the floor.
wow!
This is absolutely amazing what a great job call me crazy I'd rather listen to this though
Very nice. Kudos to Dylan, and to Jimi Hendrix, whose version they are riffing on! They play beautifully.
A talented string quartet is always a beauty to behold. The frequency spectrum is complete, from low to high end. Bass, Cello, Viola, Violin. (Or a slight modification of that form, perhaps 2 violins, etc whatever)
though the fact is not unknown to me, it is nevertheless heartening to see a fine group of classically trained musicians revere, and effectively perform, the works and arrangements of Jimi Hendrix.
Peter Filardo well they are a jazz string quartet
What an elegant use of the English language, my good man.
Is the score published? Where can I get a transcript?
Sounds like BTD 5
