💖 ABOUT ME:
Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time UA-camr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. I hope you enjoy my channel and if you do, please don't forget to SUBSCRIBE & leave me a comment!
I'm 66 and have been using Revlon for 50 years!
And our Moms used it before us! My mother's signature lipstick shade was Revlon's "Love That Pink."
Age 63 same!!!
Age 70 same!
"Patrick Ta who?" 🤣😂
Lol😂😂
Outstanding
😂
Love this!
I totally giggled!
I think Revlon isn’t talked about enough. My favorite drugstore brand for lipsticks and nail polish! Some good eyeliners too. The only thing I have by Catrice is the concealer.
I love the Revlon Illuminance Foundation!
I have a wonderful hydrating foundation from revlon. I love it.
I have a nail polish from Revlon that I love. It has duo chrome.
Revlon has the absolute best drugstore lipstick formulas- their cream and glass shine balm formulas. They are better than many high end brands as well.
They have a good Revlon Illuminance Foundation. I believe they have a matte option, too, but this one is hydrating and contains squalane & hyaluronic acid. It is touted as makeup & skincare in one.
nothing makes me happier than finding a dupe for higher end products in a cheaper option!!
I also love that Revlon still has some older lipstick shades...even a few from the 50's like Fire & Ice red lipstick.....and Pink in the Afternoon from 1983.
Revlon’s “Cherries in the Snow” is my all-time favorite shade name for a lipstick! I know that really dates me.
I wear Pink in the Afternoon and I love it!
They have a peachy shade I really dig!
I've always had hypersensitive skin, and back in the 70's and 80's, Clinique was the only fragrance-free, (mostly) irritant-free option available. My dermatologist at the time recommended one of their foundations. I will always have a special place in my heart for Clinique and always feel nostalgic whenever I see or use their products. They were a "clean" beauty and skincare brand decades before "clean" beauty and skincare were even a thing.
I used their Dramatically Different Moisturiser every day and night for over 50 years. They were my first moisturiser at 15 in 1975 and I never changed it. I don’t use it every day anymore, but I always have a bottle of it in my makeup drawer. I used so many of their products over the years and it made me love and appreciate unscented skincare. And it never bothered my skin. None of it. I love Clinique!
My mom has used their facial cleanser and the yellow moisturizer for more than 50 years. She is 80 and has beautiful skin!
3:46 what foundation did your dr recommend?
@@dorcasgilbert7029 Clinique doesn't make it anymore. It came in a clear plastic bottle with a silver cap. Looked like half foundation, half water. You needed to shake it prior to applying. It was watery but had a very natural looking light to light medium coverage. He also recommended a moisturizer I loved that Clinique no longer makes. Came in a small, signature green glass bottle with a silver cap.
My dermatologist recommended Almay or Clinique, my mom bought me the Almay, as I got older and bought my own cosmetics, I loved especially Clinique.
I’m so glad both were reliable in that way but especially Clinique that has always been great with formulas, shades and variety!
This was such a good video chat! I personally get tired of seeing most influencers talk only about brands like Elf or Patrick ta. Let's hear about all the brands. Cuz at this point i feel like I'm rewatching the same videos lol Thank you for bringing light and recognition to these very much loved brands ❤
I hear ya, I'm so tired of seeing the same brands over and over again, I'm glad you liked it!
Let's be real, we only hear about the brands that pay the influencers.

@@Casualphilosopher-db9gy facts 👌
Oh, Clinique really is the grand old dame of department store makeup counters. My friends and I would spend money we couldn't really afford on one small product so we could get the bag full of samples. Loved the strawberry fudge eyeshadow duo!
Yes!! My friends and i LIVED for the gift with purchase time where you spent like $20 to get a bunch of freebies. I loved Strawberry Fudge and Beach Please eyeshadows!!
Yes, Revlon lipsticks are some of my faves. I just love them, especially the cream formula.
I never see anyone talk about Laura Geller or Doll 10...Laura Geller's baked blushes are amazing and the Doll 10 Doll Squad eye palettes are awesome. I am loving the new Catrice blush duos and I can't believe I forgot all about the Clinique Touch Base in Canvas...I used to use that religiously as an eye primer. I've used Clinique products since Black Honey lip gloss came in a pot!
Laura’s lip oils are so very good!
I love Laura Geller foundation!
I didn’t realize Ulta no longer carried Laura Geller, until this week. It’s a brand I use to buy. I also used to buy Catrice there. I love Ulta has expanded and carries more brands now, but I sure miss some of the oldies but goodies.
I love the Clinique Cheek Pop formula. So smooth and doesn't emphasize the really bad texture I have on my cheeks. I wish it got more love because they discontinued a bunch of shades.
my favorite Milani products are the eyeshadow primer (I use every single time I do my makeup), baked blushes, lipsticks and lip glosses, foundation, concealer, the silky matte bronzer (perfect for my cool skintone), and baked highlighters. The products I've used are all made in Italy so amazing quality and just reliable. I know I'll always get great quality.
Yes I love Milani too
I agree with Clinique! I've loved them since they came out in the 1960s. The Super Powder is like nothing else on my skin.
I was using Revlon everything for about 40 years. UA-cam helped me branch into other brands, not all things worked out for me. I do love Rimmel.
MAX FACTOR! Why they ever left the U.S. market, I'll never know. I have a friend who travels in the U.K. every year, and she always brings me a surprise treat or two! I tune in to Gemma of Pampered Wolf every so often; she includes Max Factor in some of her videos. Love the video, Jen!
Yes!! The 2000 calorie mascara was great!!
@@valerietodd2024miss that mascara …. Was may favorite since high school until they left the US😩
I did a video on Max Factor a while back. You can get a lot of their stuff on Amazon now. 🥰
@JenPhelps Thank You for this update!
The brand took a dig hit when the founder’s grandson was convicted of rape.
I also like that the vlogmas intro is not exactly the same but slightly different each time, so cozy and pretty !
I agree, it's so cozy feeling!😊
Your Vlogmas intro -- your home, your son, the music, the birds at the feeder -- cheers me every single day! Loved the Black-Capped Chickadee. Sometimes I can get Mountain Chickadees (their slightly less shy cousins) to eat out of my hand. I wish Milani would bring back their eyeshadow singles called Bella Eyes Gel Powder. Remember those from about 10 years ago? Best powder singles ever. Overall Milani is a great drugstore brand! 🌲🌲🌲
Totally agree on Nabla! The lipsticks are so comfortable and long lasting, even the jelly ones! I just got a blush from them and it is gorgeous! Would love to see you talk more about their complexion products!
They have amaaaazing cheek products (i LOVE the SkinGlazing line, really delivers on its name!) (edited for spelling mistakes 😅)
Yessss Clinique is incredible for those of us with incredibly sensitive skin. Their high impact mascara is my favorite of all time and I love that I can always count on the brand not to have any fragrance in it as my skin is sooo sensitive to it.
They still make the Touch Base eyeshadow in about three shades. You can find it at Ulta. I am almost 65 now, it I remember my grandmother taking me to the Clinique counter in Higbees when I was in the 8th grade to buy me skin care-the soap, toner, and a few other Clinique products. I have worn lots of brands since then but always have Clinique products in the rotation still. Great stuff!
I spent precious money on the Touch Base primer after getting it in a sample bag and loved it. Man, I haven't used Clinique in YEARS.
I still wear the Touch Base as a primer. Know they won't irritate my sensitive skin.
I love Touch Base! I still use it!
Thank you, I just added one to my cart, never tried it.
I love the Canvas touch base primer and it’s the only one I can use. Have not found another that doesn’t irritate my skin and eyes or make them water.
I am a minimalist “look” makeup wearer. I have loved makeup since I was way too early to wear it. 😮I’m 58 years old now.😊 (I used to be a cosmetologist / esthetician pre children.) I have been consistently going back to my long time favorites. This year I added a brand I can’t live without now. Merit. Love everything I have from them. But my tried a true brands are Revlon ( fyi it used to be sold at the makeup counters in department stores when it was first launched back in the 50’s???) I’ve worn the lipsticks since my mom said I could!!! 😍Pink in the Afternoon is my pink shade and nothing could compare for over 40 years using it. I also love the new color Whiskey Business!!! I have back ups of both. I own around 40 shades from the Revlon lipstick lines 😊 I don’t wear foundation. But I do love the Revlon illumination foundation. I use it sparingly.
Clinique was the first “professional “ skin care and makeup my mom let me buy! I received a free gift with purchase of Black honey almost lipstick in 1982? And have worn it ever since . I totally got the viral status of this lip product! The lip glosses are amazing in Clinique as well ! The Lip Balm in the pink tube will change your life! 😂
ELF is another newer staple for me . The liquid blushes are amazing . And I love the Curl up mascara and the lengthening mascara and both come in brown.
Not really a huge fun of Catrice, but Juvia's Place eyeshadow and lipstick are phenomenal and underrated.
Agreed.
Agree!
I love the idea of a shop-my-stash advent calendar! That sounds really fun and creative.
Drugstore priced makeup and skincare brands are killing it! Except for makeup application tips and demonstrations, I rarely watch influencers who use or promote high end makeup products. The only high end product type I have bought on a rare occasion is a foundation. My most used foundations are from L’Oréal. Every other product type with close enough quality to high end can be found for a lot less on line or in the drugstore. I really appreciate it that you feature so many affordable brands in your videos. I only wish I could see products in a store rather than take my chances ordering on line. Also, even if a product from a store doesn’t work for me, returns are easy.
I love Clinique ! I love their blushes, lipsticks, and remove the day balm. Since you like Lavender/ purple colored blushes, you might like their #15 Pansy Pot cheek blushes. It’s so beautiful!
I’ve tried the Catrice blurring powder and I love it. If you have oily skin I do recommend it. It blurs and is so pretty. I use it all over my face. Even though it’s a pink powder it doesn’t change my foundation. I’m a very fair golden undertone. I do love so much from Milani. The foundation works for my oily skin. It’s hard to find a drugstore foundation that I love. I’m making a total switch to drugstore. High end brands have been raising their prices since 2016. too faced palettes aren’t worth the price they charge. Some colourpop palettes are just as good or even better. This yr I tried so many products from the drugstore that are so good. So I decided to switch. I love some of my high end eyeshadow palettes but truthfully I can get a similar look with some drugstore palettes I own.
I knew Clinique would make the list! Am anticipating my Clinique order arriving soon (hubby complained at the almost 25$ shipping fee but really, even with that shipping fee I got them cheaper at their BF sale and my daughter needs their clean makeup ... her friend made her up and she immediately got 3 big pimples!) ... as to Catrice, they're widely available here in the Middle East and compared to other known brands that perform the same they are quite cheap. Its cheaper sister is Essence (which I think has eye pencils made in China or Taiwan), they're both owned by Cosnova, a German company. I can't believe that -- for the price -- their foundation, concealer and setting powder (at least the ones I have) are made in Italy. Their eye products are -- just like most expensive eye pencils -- are of course made in Germany though their kajal is made in Czech Republic. Thanks, Jen, for this video! I would not have looked at Catrice had I not learned about it here so when I saw it in Europe, I immediately snapped up an eyeliner for my daughter to try and she liked it and we went on from there to buy other Catrice makeup.
Milani eyeshadow primer is my HG. I’ve never been able to keep eyeliner on all day. With this, my eyeshadow and liner still look perfect after 10 hours or more. I hope they never stop making this!
Oh this was fun! I had to giggle on the patrick ta who comment. Good on you!
Thank you so very much for being with us !
I’m loving this vlogmas series. 🎅🏻🎄
Yes, clinique still makes their eyeshadow base. I just bought it. It's better than the urban Decay. It's better than any other eyeshadow base I've ever used. My eyeshadow last allll day, and I have oily lids.
Nabla cupids arrow liners are the best for soft looks
Moira is phenomenal! Love their eyeshadows!!!
I love using Moira Jen, thanks to you. I have used Revlon for years and Maybelline also. Now I will shop more Catrice. I do have a couple of products by them. Thank you Jen for reminding us of other great never talked about brands. Thanks to the Jen Community too. I enjoyed this video and totally agree with you and the community. Many blessings to everyone for a wonderful holiday season.😍❤💚🤎💛💕🙏🌹🌺🥀🌺🌲💐
I absolutely agree! Let me shop in peace, sometimes it’s my only alone time I can get!
Yes!! 💯
smashbox, flower beauty, mob, and pür also deserve more love!
remember when everyone was obsessed with the revolutionary pump/doe foot packaging of mario’s new liquid bronzer but pür had that already for years!
ooh yes, I never hear about Pür Beauty!
Yesss!! I looove so many PUR products, make up and skincare. I'm big into KBeauty and buy a lot of everything drugstore, indie and luxury. I try dozens of brands but I still love PUR as one of my favourite brands for quality and performance. Their 4 in 1 Skin tint is so underrated, super flattering, great buildable coverage. The selfie foundation is great too. The 4 in 1 bronzer is a very pretty neutral milky shade for fair skin. Their 4 in 1 eyebrow is IMO the best available. The primers are really good too. I have a lot of palettes too and love their mattes and shimmers. Very easy to use and flattering. I often get my prettiest eye looks using PUR
You can't get Smashbox Flower Beauty or MOB in the UK... 🥺💔
I really like flower, as well.
@@julesbee6249I always hear about people raving about the brand but out of about 6 products purchased only really loved one....
Oh, I'm so glad to hear so much love for Clinique!! They are the OG! Lately, their Quickliner eyeliner is fantastic. That stuff stays PUT!! The only thing that budges it is their Take Off the Day cleansing balm. No other balm works as well IMO and I've tried several at both ends of the spectrum moneywise. Plus it leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and supple the next day. Great stuff!
"Patrick Ta Who?" 😅 This was a great video! I think Clinique is desperately underrated - they continue to crank out so many of my staples, year after year. They still make touch base!
Yes to Nabla!! They have an incredible eyeshadow formula! The mattes blend way better than Natasha Denona and I keep going back to them over and over.
The intro you made for vlogmas is magical ❤ 🎄
I have used Revlon for years. I have every lipstick they make. I also sold Clinic and started using their 7 day scrub in my 30’s. I get so many compliments on my skin and I’m 77 now. I use otc chemical peals now but I know the 7 day scrub was a huge part of keeping my skin glowing. I also used Lancome starting in my 50’s. I try all sorts of things now since watching you and other content creators 😘☺️🥰
Nabla Bronzers too!!! 🔥🔥😩💗 I’m going to shop my stash for the shades I have I use them for Bronzer and Contour.
Yes mam... 💚 Clinique still makes the Touch Base Eyeshadow primer... in 3 colors!😊 I just ordered a new one from Ulta!🧡 My Momma, who didn't wear eyeshadow, it was what she wore in the '80's & '90's as her "eyeshadow"!!! Im loving Vlogmas, Jen!🎅🎄🎁💄💋
That is such a cute sweater. I have said it before but you really nail your makeup and outfit combinations. 😊
Aww thank you!!
I wish Bare Minerals was bigger because back in the day they had so much selection with their powder shadows and blushes. They do have some nice products but they’ve really changed their line a lot. I’m still a fan though.
I must have at least 30 of their eyeshadow. Still great.
@ I’m jealous. I regret giving them away to a friend. Back in 2014 I just always thought they’d be available for me to replace but that wasn’t the case unfortunately.
The original formula foundation will always be “that girl” for me. It’s so easy to use, and comfortable on my skin.
I think MAC is totally underrated. I’ve enjoyed using some classic MAC eyeshadows recently. The Connect in Color palettes are great. Love their lipliners, lipsticks, glosses, the Glow Play blushes, the Mineralize Powder blushes are phenomenal, the regular powder blushes are really good, and I love their new bronzer. They have good solid products with good prices, especially on sale.
I agree with you, my HG lipsticks, lip liners and eyeliners are from MAC ❤. When I started wearing makeup my favourite eyeshadow singles were all from MAC. It would be great if they still made nail polishes!
I completely agree. I’ve been using some of their products since I first got into make up as a teenager and I’m 35 now. And the makeup brushes that I would save up for for my first job I still have and they’re still an excellent condition.
And my grandma used Elizabeth Arden and I feel like Elizabeth Arden truly gets slept on. I’m so sick of hearing about weird new celebrity Brands from Sephora instead high-quality brands or amazing European brands that you can order in America.
And omg yes black honey was the “lipstick” I was allowed to wear, and I always have a tube in my purse and an extra at my house. It’s my go to.
When I was in my twenties MAC was “the” brand. First makeup artist brand and it was considered a touch above but still affordable. I’m 70 now and have so many of their lipsticks, lipliners and single shadows. They are updating the lipstick formulas and I hope they are as great as the originals. There are so many new brands coming out but MAC is great.
Your Christmas opening is so sweet and I love seeing it.
It's funny because yesterday I wore the same eye and cheek combo you're wearing in this video. I love that Colourpop quad; amazing pigmentation! And the cream and powder blush duos are the first product I've tried from Catrice and I love it. Beautiful peach color that lasts all day. I definitely want to try more from the brand.
I love catrice but I'm not crazy about buying on line only wish they would come back at ulta or sephora !!!
BTW yes those clinique eye primer still exist in fact I use the one in canvas #10
I actually love that they're at Amazon because I can get my order the next day vs at Ulta I had to wait a week. I rarely am in stores anyway so I buy a lot online. 🥰
@@JenPhelps true I do too ...but always a bit worried buying makeup on Amazon 😕
@@sibylleacatosif you make sure it’s from the brand it’s ok 😊
@monicapatton1405 yes but how do you know it's from the brand when you order it ??
@ right above the description of the product near the top of the page in blue it will say ‘Visit the xyz store” that’s what you want- they have their own store that matches the product. If it just says “Brand: XYZ” it’s not it- if they have their own store on Amazon it’s for sure correct, otherwise you can’t be sure. Does that make sense? Have never explained it before lol so not sure if that makes sense.
Jen I just had to tell you, I am so excited, I finally found the newlybreleased Revlon Glass Shine lipsticks! I picked up the nude and mauve shade. So happy 😊
Revlon eyeshadows in the little pots are amazing!!
Clinique almost powder and Pansy Pop blush, and Revlon color stay liquid eyeliner are holy grails for me.
Jen, every time you say an eye look was tough or not your usual, I think it looks amazing! Please dig into what you’d consider your tougher palettes. I was just watching your last palette declutter and there were so many beautiful ones that you said you should use more and I agree!
Definitely a goal for 2025!
I can’t live without the Catrics pink under eye cream. Clinique was my first skincare go to. Then I discovered the foundation concealer duo that is always in my rotation. I have a few Moira eyeshadow pallets and they are all very good. My mom has used the same Revlon lipstick for over 60 years yet no one ever discusses how reliable they have been.
Clinique blushes are so under rated! Love their blushes!
Received my Moira order today from the 75% off sale... I could not be happier! Phenomenal eyeshadows and colors! I picked up a blsck snd brown felt tip eyeliner I'm looking forward to trying after my current ones stop performing! Great subject... some affordable things I will definitely try in the future! Thank you💜
Hi! Did you get a liquid eyeshadow or those singles in a squared pan? 🌸 I would like to know if the liquid ones last well 😢
@mrp8190 I got the Diamond Daze Liquid eyeshadow in Mermaid, but already had green Paradise. I've worn my the later to pilates class and it didn't budge... it's great!
@mrp8190 also... I love the square pan the most. So easy to use, blend and last well. I'd pick them over most Natasha Denona shadows for sure!
I love Catrice, I just got an order last week. I appreciate their points, I always get about $5 off.💚
Jen: "Patrick Ta who?"
Me: Sh0ts fired!! 🤠😆
🤣🤣🤣
my LARGE orders to Revolution Beauty is in the UK right now and my HUGE Coloured Raine and Juvias place orders are on their way. so excited
So many of these are on my own list, too! Catrice was indeed my number one. Both Essence and Catrice are pretty standard brands in the cheapest drugstore (Kruidvat), and I've used their products since they started in the late 90s, when I was just starting university! Great value for money.
ESSENCE - I have a huuuuge drawer full of Essence nailpolishes - they keep just as long on my nails as my Essie and other more expensive brands - and love their eye- and lipliners, and the Lash Princess is still one of my favourite mascaras. Their sun club/sun Matte bronzers are also top.
CATRICE -Catrice has one annoying thing, and that is that they tend to discontinue so many of their great items. Luckily, their baked bronzer and the Slimmatic Ultra Precice brow have stayed, and every now and then I pick up a blush (once again my faves were discontinued), or another item and they rarely disappoint (though why they have just only one shade in their Cream bronzer is beyond me: way too dark for fair to light, and much to light for anyone with deeper to truly deep skintone). I didn't buy the little cream/powder duo that's apparently so nice, exactly because of the powder. I rarely use powder blushes anymore, and setting my cream with powder makes sure the effect of the cream is lost. But it's handy to know they're good in case they have shades I'm looking for cream wise/or to recommend others. Their polishes càn be pretty great, too. But it is mostly their special editions, like during the holiday season. Those are always beautiful. I'm actually wearing a silver metallic one with glitter rn - to match my silver accessories tomorrow- that I bought years ago and the whole set ( silver, gold, red, purple and eggplant shade).
MOIRA - I actually bought a few Moira products for the very first time last week. It's pretty new in the Netherlands, and only available online (like Milani, Nyx, Elf, Nabla). I got two of the creamy shadow pots and one of the flat compact shimmers. Want to use them tomorrow for Xmas. Tested on my hand and the pots are phenomenal! People say that you can't wear shimmers when you're over 40. Well, EFF that, I'm about to! They also had a purple cream blush, and I jumped on that as cream blushes in purple are hard to find, and the only others I knew of - About Magic and Half Magic - had to be ordered abroad AND are much more expensive ( like Jen I knew it the "purple Magic" for us cool toned peeps. I've been using purple powder shadow and one purple balm for a while to get a gorgeous pink result. But really wanted an actual cream). Also, I got two lipsticks of their goddess line, but I am a bit disappointed in the major difference between online swatch and true colour. 021 is okayish, but I can't find a liner that's a good fit and I absolutely need a liner as my lips are colourless. But the 002 Sweetie was a disaster! It looked like a nice mauvy pink online and IRL it's a light orangey salmon - can't wear that 😢. Not on my cheeks either. But the texture does seem to be nice.
MILANI -Milani has some of my all-time favourite items. They do get some attention, but not regularly. Though Jen has a point: they're not really jumping on the bandwagon of constant releases, so that works against them on social media. The Silky Matte bronzer is one of the best powder bronzers in existence. Besides the Nyx and Physicians Formula, it's the only powder bronzer that looks beautiful on dry, mature skin. Their baked blushes, tea rose blushes, AND cream blushes are all amazing. I wish they had a lighter, cooler shade in their cream bronzers as the texture is like the blushes, but the lightest shade is too dark and too orange for fair skinned people. Their lipsticks are often great as well. They used to have really good eyeshadow palletes but changed the formula, and now they're meh.
Imho Wet 'n Wild deserves more screen time as well. And I think brands like Max Factor simply don't get much attention because they're European and apparently no longer in certain US stores. 99,9999% of influencers, US ones, will be blind to it then.
K- BEAUTY- K-beauty might be popular, but to my annoyance it's basically the more high end brands that get the screen time. K-beauty brands like A'PIEU, Lilybyred, Holika Holika, Judy Doll, Etude, House of Hur - and more - make the prettiest products, but it's only Fwee and Romand and those with fairy-tale packaging that get recognised.
I have liquid and cream blushes, as well as my all-time favourite cream highlighter, by the majority of the aforementioned brands. I dó want to try the 1-2 Fwee pots now that they're much cheaper on Yesstyle (they aren't available in my own country and some EU resellers ask 20+ euro for them), but when it comes to a balmy- creamy consistency Lilybyred is all I need (colourpop created a dupe of their heart balm blush, btw!), and for liquid Etude, A'pieu, House of Hur and Holika Holika all have bangers. The Holika Holika butter stick is the most gorgeous natural cream highlighter I've ever seen. If you want to be seen from the moon, that's still possible as it's buildable. But I tap in a tiny bit on the highest part of my cheekbone with my finger, and on my dry, mature skin, it looks great! A pearly sheen, no glitter, no shimmer, that's slightly wet looking - even though it dries perfectly. One downside: they only have it in a champagne shade, and thus, it's not suitable for deeper skin colours. But that's typical for the majority of Korean makeup, alas.
I love the Nabla eyeshadow sticks, even though I got basic colors they blend so easily. I love the palette I got that was suggested on this channel, especially for the "one and done" gray shadow in it.
we, Italians, LOVE all Nabla products. No products are a fail whatsoever especially the lose glitters, STUNNING!!! Even on mature eye lids
I just tried the black Cupid arrow eyeliner crayon & im in love! So deep & inky, but none of the usual problems with mature eyes. A tiny bit at the corner is WOW
Yes, the CupidsArrow are insanely good!
I found a Catrice eyeshadow palette at TJ Maxx recently and it’s amazing! I already loved the foundation, concealer and brightening pink powder so I knew it was worth checking out especially for $5 ❤
Great tip! I’ll start watching for this brand at the TJX stores, ty!
The Catrice Advent calendar was terrific this year!
MAC really does bring it. I mostly think of clinique for skincare, and just kind of forget they have make-up, too. Love videos like this and loving Vlogmas this year!
Hi Jen! I finally broke down and got stone cold fox, had been holding off, but I love it!
Me too! I did my first ever Colourpop order on Black Friday
I agree with the comments about clinique. Your son is darling and is making brilliant makeup choices. Your place is lovely as well. Happy holidays Jen.
Love Doll 10 eye shadows, I was hoping they would have come out with a new one, still holding out for a pink/mauve/purple one.🌲🎄💖
I was so glad Catrice made it! I commented many times on your channel how underrated Catrice is. It's my top fav drugstore makeup brand. I even love their skincare products. Haven't tried anything I didn't like thus far.
Nabla's eyebrow pencil in Neptune (which is described as a "cold medium brown") used to be sold at Ulta. Not anymore. Now I have to order directly from their website, where it ships from Italy, so I order 3 pencils at a time -- SO GOOD!!!
Milani’s stay put eyeliner is the best! Way better than any high end’s I’ve tried and really does last all day. My fave eyeliner for my waterline. Clinique’s skin products will always be my fave, especially if you have more dry sensitive skin like me. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Really enjoyed this video 😊 I love watching you bc you are just about the only influencer that talks about really good brands that don’t get enough attention. A lot of them are drugstore (or if they aren’t you provide a drugstore alternative usually APPRECIATED) I love that you love hearing from your viewers as well. You try all the products and spend your $$ so we don’t have to. You give honest reviews and recommendations. We see you! We appreciate you and love you for it ❤ Love the eye look 😊 your son hit a home run again with his pick! Have a great weekend. Hugs 💖
cover girl classic blushes- natural glow and soft mink are the best!!
Back in the 90s there was no better color line than MAC. They changed the standard for makeup, brushes, artistry, trends. I worked for the brand for a total of 8 years over a span of 11 years. In between, I was a cosmetics manager for Nordstrom in LA. Our MAC counters DOUBLED the revenue of the #2 line in the department. MAC’s downfall began when they were acquired by Estée Lauder. We all cried that day, because we knew the magic, the best line ever, the best job ever, was over.
Thanks Jen for sharing this fun video 😊 In Canada, the Catrice brand isn't available here any longer - the Essence brand is quite popular here. I do like the Essence mascara's - Call me Queen is one of my favorites 🥰 I also like their Eyelash primer and some of the blush shades. Sadly, I don't think Almay gets enough love - their products are good quality too. Take care everyone 🌹
Bare Minerals powder concealer should be promoted more for touch ups or if a blemish you covered needs a bit of help even when you're otherwise finished with your face. The lightest shade is a bit dark, and I think it's just okay on its own, but when the coverage on a blemish is just "off" or not quite right, it adds a little boost in coverage.
OMG I agree… catrice is my FAVORITE non drugstore drugstore brand. Love love love their foundation
Milani is my go to brand for blushes! Their rose powder blush in romantic rose is my #1!
Moira has awesome eyeshadows and those newer colors of the revlon lipsticks are fabulous.
Where I live Mac still only has counters, and I totally shy away from going up there, bc of the same reason you mentioned. 😂 I can totally relate!
Buxom, Anastasia, Too Faced, and It cosmetics are my most favorite under hyped high brands because they make good makeup that's cruelty free and often it's not stupidly priced or goes on really good sales often. I do still reach for my Mac Studio Fix, though. And probably always will. Mac and Clinique and Revlon would be up there as favorites, but I try to use as much cruelty free as possible, although if it works better than anything else on me, I will purchase it regardless. But I have as much cruelty free makeup as possible. As for drugstores, all the brands I like are already hyped except for Essense and Milani.
Revlon has always had the best lipsticks at the drugstore
Love seeing your surrounds..I’m in Australia, so very different this time of year
Clinique has so many shades of foundations. The only one that is a true match for me is one of theirs. I have a very ruddy complexion and struggle with every other brand
Thanks for quoting my comment! Here’s the rest about Catrice: “Don’t get me started on those gorgeous highlighters they have as well. Some of my favorites. Better than CT in my opinion. There’s more I’m sure I’m forgetting. 😊”
Ah thanks for the rest of the quote! :) I don't know why it got cut off, haha!
I am really loving your vlogmas!! every video is so great! Very grateful for your hard work!! ❤
Hey Jen Mac have always been a fantastic brand love them ❤
I love Catrice products. Their eye brightener is 🔥
No Catrice in Canada unfortunately...😢😢😢 Those blush duos look absolutely amazing, very sad I will not be able to purchase them.
Agree with all of this! Clinique high impact mascara is such a good everyday mascara
I’m so picky about mascara and this one shocked me at how great it is! The length it gives without clumps is ❤
“Patrick Ta who?” You woke up and chose vi0lence! I love it!
I actually love your eyeshadow. I feel like it matches your lipstick with the little bit of gold in the lip gloss (I think) :) Great job to your son!
I feel like cover girl and bare minerals aren’t talked about as much. Ya bare minerals is a little pricy but the foundation is good
🌸🌸🌸………..wishes they still sold Catrice at Ulta! Great video Jen, your son has done a great job so for! 🌸🌸🌸
MAC face and body is a must try. It looks like skin and it stays on all day.. Shelby Wilson has a good video about how to apply, as she is a bit persnickety. But if you love her, she’ll love you back.
I'm in Canada, and I've never seen Catrice in stores here.
Love your videos, Jen! Patrick Ta, who 😂
I'm in Vancouver, BC, and have not seen Catrice in stores since 2021. It's a shame. My adult sister had alot of Clinique in the 80s when I was a kid. the packaging looked so scientific/lab-like. then my college girlfriends loved the chubby stick in the early and mid 90s.
Come to think of it I think that’s why i also don’t have any Mac products except the paint pot😂 I hate when people talk to me when im shopping. Just let me spend money irresponsibly in peace lol
Mine didn’t make it but I didn’t expect it to 😅. I use subtle beauty. They come in customisable stacks that are perfect for travel or just lifestyles.
They focus on reduced packing and opt for refill pans that have the perfect amount product you can realistically use before expiring. They don’t melt if they get forgotten in the car and are tsa friendly.
I wish more people would talk about the brand. Its affordable especially in the long run.
I’m in Canada and have only seen the odd Catrice item on Amazon for crazy high prices. I don’t recall seeing it in stores where I live in Ontario.
Don’t be afraid of the MAC counter! They have suggested colours I would never have looked at that have been very flattering and are now my favourite. I have never felt pressured to buy products I didn’t want.
