Yay my first nail video! Please bare with me while I figure all this out.
This is done with just gel polish base coat, chrome pigment and gel polish top coat. I was playing around and found using just a base gel polish worked and wanted to share with you guys! After wiping the gel base polish with alcohol it has a rubbery texture for the pigment to stick to. opinion not fact Every product is different.
It is best to use a NO WIPE top coat and some kind of applicator but I didn't have either on hand...so whatcha gonna do ;P
I do prefer using a color as a base as well. . :)

It looked granulated because you didn't buff it into the nail enough. Once you put it on the nail you have to rub for several seconds. The more you rub the more reflective it becomes. I love the idea of doing it over clear!
Using a no wipe top coat and an applicator does make a big difference. Thanks for watching!

This is absolutely STUNNING!!!!
You should either use a eye shadow applicator or silicon utensil to apply the pigment. never your finger because the oils would reduce the shine.
But I feel like with a finger it shines even more.
Always Use eyeshadow brush like the sponge

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but it would look tally nice as a French look, I say that after noticing the finger you were using to apply the pigment, I thought it was cute 😊. God bless!

I am so glad you brought up the issue of nail ridges. I have a couple autoimmune diseases and arthritis so I have quite a few ridges. I wasn't quite sure how to handle that. Thank you.

I love chromes I prefer them over lighter colors or over builder gel. I don't like using black base myself. Gorgeous ❤

Luxapolish how did you get the chrome to stick what did you use first
+fighting irish in this video I used a gel base coat. Cured. Then wiped with alcohol. BUT it doesn't give you the best chrome mirror look. It's best to use a no wipe gel top coat then put the chrome powder over that...then no wipe gel top coat again.

thank you for this video and to all others for their comments. I had mine done at a nail shop and they look terrible and to boot, i had her to paint my base as black. you can still see the black on the side bed... :( it just looks like silver polish. i am going to try this myself but buy the no wipe top coat (btw what is the best one to use without spending too much??). it also helps to know that you have to really buff it and she did not do that, so that could have made a difference. also does anyone have any experience with the top coat cracking?

Yes, the length and shape of her nails are perfect. It's my own opinion that nails that are extremely long or pointed or squared or chunky/thick are very unnatractive.

You know what, I've been using the applicator and then I tried my finger and it worked so much better! Maybe it depends on the chrome quality bc I swear I get specks with an applicator.

What is the difference between chrome powder and the glitter powder?can i use glitters to get mirror effect
Can I use either powder on any color nail polish to get a chrome finish that color? So say if I wanted a rose gold finish & I have a pink base coat, will applying either chrome finish give me a pink chrome effect & not just silver?

+Li Valdes Hi! Unfortunately I haven't had much success with regular nail polish and chrome. I've heard using a water based base coat.. or maybe a water based top coat could work...Sorry I couldn't be much help with that

wow...I didn't realise how expensive this stuff was retail..I got some as a laugh off Ebay for under $2 a 2 gm pot and it works just the same...I was expecting terrible results but was very happy

+Sammysweet Due there are different kinds of qualities of chrome as with everything. If you find a less expensive one and you like it that's great! I know I've tried dozens of chromes and most weren't that great. Once you see and have had great quality it's hard to buy anything less than ;)

HELP! I just bought this and trying it now. I am noticing a bit of sparkle after I seal with the no wipe top coat. Is that normal? It's totally mirror right before and I like that. Once I seal it the sparkles show. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

+steph giles Hi! Unfortunately chrome pigment works best with gel polish (even on acrylics) Using a no wipe top coat is best for a mirror chrome finish :)

+coua xiong I used CND gel polish base that needs to cured with an UV or LED light. It's best to use a NO WIPE gel top coat under the chrome to achieve the best look. Check out my other chrome videos for more info. Thanks for watching. :)

+Cindy Hilburn Hi! I didnt use a no wipe top coat in this video....in my most recent videos I use a no wipe top coat. You get the best chrome results with a no wipe top coat.
