I just wanted to say, thank you all for the lovely comments! I'm currently working on the next episode, and I'll hopefully have it finished within the next week. :-)

Brilliant stuff. I've got a Sega Megadrive cartridge collection of nearly 100 cartridges right behind me in my bookcase. My favourite Megadrive games are Mega Lo Mania, Sonic 2, Road Rash 1, 2 & 3 as well as Lemmings.

I'm from youtube promo videos group on facebook. I was born in Kingston upon Hull in England in 1972, but live in Australia. I'm a dual citizen of the UK and Australia, and support England at most sports.

I read that 915 games were made for the original Megadrive. Info from wikipedia.

The needless tedium is what makes the older games classics.

Thank you! :-) Yeah, I've got games EVERYWHERE surrounding me - got myself a few shelves full of Mega Drive games too, think I have around 80. It's gonna be expensive to collect them all, but that's why I'm skipping some games here and there, until I can afford them. Otherwise, I'd never get this series started! I love Sonic, and Road Rash. Lemmings was frustrating at the mid-point of the game lol. Don't think I've ever played Mega Lo Mania, but I look forward to visiting it down the line.

That's pretty cool dude! Sega was king in the UK, right? I knew one person with a SNES growing up. Yup, there are a LOT of games. I'm gonna try condense things down - I'm not gonna look at the compilation cartridges, I'm gonna combine a lot of sports titles into one video, and I'm only gonna look at Japanese games I can get a decent translation for. Although I'm going to university this year to learn Japanese, so who knows? XD There's old school frustration, and then just boring. This falls in the latter. It's just not fun for me. :(

Blast from the past. Really good to see a retro game in a jungle of hi-def games these days. You should do more videos like this

I've got this for DOS and Mega Drive in their boxes and cases. This was the gateway drug for me towards interest in naval history and gaming, and hopefully with your video, one for the next generation.

Thanks so much for your kind words. As I said in the video, it wasn't my kind of game, but I hope it at least raised some interest for others. It's actually my first proper dive (mind the pun) into the genre, and I found out about the lovely community at subsim.com through making it. 😁

Wow, when viewing the first 5 seconds of the videogame I thought u were doing a character, cuz with all due respect ya kinda look like, aestheticlly mind you, ur standard morose mettalica "if ya look at me I'll punch ya in the armpit" rabble rouser... In the states at least.. but you are the most chasing creepster I've ever seen and your vid was cool so ya got a new fan!

Dude, that's an awesome list of games right there. Streets of Rage 2 is one of my all-time favourites. Never had a chance to play Bloodlines. Yeah, I just discovered Alien Soldier a few years ago - I'm shocked it took me so long to find it. Definitely a hidden gem!

It looks pretty different compared to other games you'd see on a console at the time. That might have been enough to catch your eye!
