Excellent experience to do your own oil changes. Great job!
    Just a few comments/suggestions:
    - Submerge the new oil filter in oil before installing. You want it to be soaked. I have the same funnel you used. I just place it inside of that and pour oil inside the filter and around it until it is soaked. Then install.
    - Gasket for the oil filter cover is installed dry. Do not cover it with oil when installing.
    - I had the same concern with the copper washer supplied with the maintenance kit... It works fine. Do not reuse the old one as it will leak. Do not ask me how I know that 🤣.
    - I recommend replacing the stock oil drain plug with a magnetic unit. Helps with catching metal debris. Just for peace of mind.
    - I use Motul oil as well. But I went with the 7100 just because it is red and looks cool, lol. It meets all specs for the bike, so no issues there. And you know, oil is the blood of the engine... 😃
    - Amazed at how easy that mesh screen came off... mine fights me every single time!
And a question: How are the tires holding up?? I changed mine to Shinko 705. I believe you have 804/805 on yours.

Thanks for the suggestions, always learning! My tires have held up great so far. The smooth feel on the asphalt is still there and I have noticed that the back end does not kick out as bad as it did before around turns with the stock tires. I still do not feel like I have put them to the test enough though (no mud yet) to vouch for all situations. I also have not had to take them off the bike to replace a tube so not sure about that yet either.

Love y’all’s channel. Did my first change on my himi since I owned it. Also on the swing arm, after disassembling, cleaning, and lubing, I hammered in some 1 in. rubber chair feet to seal those holes.

Nice job! I think I am due for the valve check/adjustment here pretty soon, that one has me a bit nervous haha. Have a good one! - Shane

not to get into the weeds with oil. but most people in Himi groups recommend semi synthetic. not full. full synthetic has been known to cause clutch issues/clutch slipping. Aside from that... good video (would personally say removing the drain plug is fairly useless. just do the two small 8 milly bolts, take the plate off. ...but live and learn) ...the sight glass is all but worthless. scuttlebutt is the glass/casing was designed before the oil filter was added, so just follow the engine spec of ... aprox 1700-1800ml

Have you heard about the Himalayan 450? 40 HP and 30Ft lbs of torque. Will you upgrade if the rumors are true?

Sure have, just saw a pic of it. Supposedly it's the 450 Himmy that was spotted without being all covered up. If it was indeed the 450, it looked kinda like CB500X or along those lines. Can't say for sure if either of us would go for the 450, will have to wait and see.

why would they go from a 411 to 450?
I think a 650 twin option would be awesome or a 822 if they ever came out with a bigger twin, or maybe it would be a 700.

Will Motul 5100 15W-50 be ok as well?

Who puts Loctite on an oil drain plug? Don’t use that mechanic again.

I think it’s because the royal enfields are notorious for rattling bolts out. That’s why all the other bolts were so loose. It needs blue loctite on everything. Most of the older ones have zip ties holding them together. 😅
