Everytime, just when I think "okay that part is done, that looks great!" you're like 30% done and you start adding stuff which I've never ever even thought of 😂
I actually really enjoy knowing that there is a mundane backstage area at parks. It makes me enjoy the theming that much more. Anyone could throw up a plain facade building and it would do the job, but for park builders to be able to immerse me in the created world and still have it be able to function is amazing to me.
That's very fair, the art of building a good stage with a believable world is respectable. But I still prefer when everything you see is real - it just adds a certain charm.
"I still don't know how those HVACs on flat roofs work." Me, a building engineer with lots of HVAC knowledge: "Yep, I can see that." But no worries, it looks fine to every person who doesn't work in that specific field. And I really enjoyed this series of your Jägerhorn build and learned a lot about detailing, building, etc. So good job!
Tripsdrill is very nostalgic to me. It was the closest theme park when I was growing up so naturally we went there quite a few times. Haven't been back in years though, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I'm still coming back to these videos every so often when the PlanCo bug has caught me again and every time I marvel at your attention to detail and always notice something new. Well done man.
In Europa Park, the restaurant's backstages are in the same decorated building of the restaurant itself. Actually, a big part of the theme buildings you see in the parc are mainly used for the staff
I think it's kinda cool to make the staff area slightly themed. Would make them feel like they're still in part of the park rather than some bland warehouse complex. Also that's one of the nicest sets of backstage buildings I've ever seen in this game.
I just visited this really old and janky - but very charming and family friendly - park in bavaria called "Freizeitland Geiselwind". From the lookout tower you can see some of the backstage with caravans, lots of old scenery pieces and junk and nature. It has very limited backstage areas with alot of restaurants being in the middle of the park without any backstage road access. It was a really nice experience :)
The banking of Collorado adventure payed attention on the first seats of the long train, that are often pushed into the curves and therefore are a bit faster in that section of the track. So the overbanking is on purpose.
Hey one thing that could make this even better is to make sure the forced perspective isn't broken when you're on the ride! It would be a shame to go to all of these lengths for detail only to be able to see one of the backstage buildings at the top of a lift hill or something.
I'm still figuring out what to do with the lifthill, you can currently see the backstage buildings. I might just plant a bunch of small spruces to obscure the view.
Can't believe it's been a 2 year series! And loved every minute of it. You inspire my creations beyond anything you'll probably ever know and can now look at a real park to pick it apart and recreate the effects in PlanCo. With that in mind, have you noticed that your trees at 20:00 are blocking the access to the gate you have put in? You're not going to get vehicles through there to get to your backstage areas... :)
Oops, good point. Have to be honest though, that section isn't meant to be realistic - I just wanted to close off the view of the 'outside world' with a bunch of foliage and some fences, it's definitely a rush job.
Outside of Disney, I personally think Adventure Express is the best mine train in terms of layout, just the way it feels so unstable makes it so much fun so maybe your crazy laterals will feel like that.
You're right. I just need to figure out how to make it into an interesting video - I don't think time lapses will showcase the process very well, so it might be more real-time (and a bit tutorialesque)
I'm always amazed to see the power that your videos have to make me feel so relaxed and peaceful hahahaha (And of course you make the best content on planet coaster which makes it also super interesting).
hello if u need things to talk about here!: Day 1: Talk about Your Dreams Day 2: Talk about Drama Day 3: Talk About What your building (Must be Done At Start, then pick something else to talk about) Day 4: Talk about School! Day 5: Talk about Your Monday. Day 6: Talk about Something you did over the summer! Day 7: Talk about your week, then at almost the end ask us how was our weekend!
You're right, I could probably be a bit more personal in my videos, I'm usually pretty detached. Still I'd like to keep it topical, I'm gonna try to find a way to talk more about the travels I'm doing this summer.
I know that building a huge detailed park would be a huge effort but possibly if you are going to make another planet co. series like this you could place it next to jägerhorn. So over time it would turn into a full fledged park.
I'm sorry, a sandbox project will have it wait, I want to finish the campaign first. After that... Well, I can't say too much about what comes after the current campaign, but I'll definitely have some more content to play with.
Silvarret ok IM watching you from sweden an you are my favorite you tuber love your vids ski resor series is my favourite series but everything is fantastic keep up with great work. One swedish fan
Yeah baby's Jägerhorn had arrived 😂😂. I love this series! I AM really trying to be as good as you in scenery and coaster building but that is Just impossible! Keep up the good work silv!
You could maybe just move the slider of friction a bit a higher to slow it down. However the game does make coasters look a bit slow sometimes so you need to increase the speed, unrealisticly. If it 'looks' right, id leave it right there
Loving all these backstage buildings, it's a nice balance between the bluntness of the Disney backstages and some of the smaller family parks that are a little more detailed. Are you able to see the restaurant backstage from the second lift btw? I can't quite tell. Would love to see you revisit the coaster! I can imagine tweaking it could be a little fussy, with all the terrain shaping underneath the track, but I think enhanced banking would look great, and symbolically would be a nice way to wrap up the series too.
Hey, not architecture but maybe lego modelling so much in planet coaster makes it easier to start actual 3d modelling hahaha Fantastic work, as always, even if its "only" a backstage area. Colorado advenutre is one of the most fun mine trains ive ever been, maybe becuase of the funny moments when im with you guys riding, but im sure the "roughness" is part of it. Other than that the last parts of the paris big thunder mountain are also pretty good.
Well, you pretty much nailed the pronounciation of Gsenkte Sau, at the least as close as most Germans, including myself, could get to it. It's not really German after all. 😉 But yes I agree, Tripsdrill ist really nice, went there a few weeks ago after like 10 years and while it's a small park, it's very charming.
You actually nailed the pronounciaton of the german words. Yes you have a bit of an accent but I could understand every german word you said without issue and I firmly believe, that it is nearly impossible to speak German without an accent if you are not learning it in Germany. (Germans are very nitpicky and will correct you all the time)
It's been super fun to watch this series over the last few days, but does he ever let guests into the park? Or does he just work on all the detail, show cinematics of the project and move on?
I'm a staunch capitalist and a cast member at Disneyland. Money is finite, so I'd much rather put the money into the onstage theme than backstage. Create quality facilities that employees can enjoy, yes, but save the detailed place-making for what Guests will see. I do think that being able to walk all the way around many of the stores in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge really does help make it feel real and lived in, though.
I work as a building engineer.. making house buildable.and generaly the architect never have a clue how structural engineering works. But sometimes they want to design houses that look structural. But they never do it right, but they are stubern about how it should look. So the solution is pretty much always hiding the structures then faking the fasad. The only real buldings you ever will se is farming buldings or storage buldings.
i think we have to ban you for a time to to interact with Rudie :p personally think backstage area's should be there, but then they also need to make sense. like it is a part of the darkride, maintenance shed, storage facility, restaurant or kitchen, what is not in visitors view. Don't know exactly what the shops are in front, but this back stage area feels more like, a backstage area to have a back stage area. You are the park manager, so place every thing where you like. Just a suggestion.
Realistically, I figured these would fit the restaurants and shops, warehouses. Though in hindsight, they are definitely too large, I could've fit that in with above half as much surface area. Oh well, it wasn't Rudi who gave me the idea tho, it's mostly based on Disney mainstreets.
I just make sure to keep my lateral g's under 2g, otherwise it's a lot of messing about. Here's some advice on roller coaster g's: coasterforce.com/physics/
When the best planet coaster creator says the game doesn't translate to any enrichment of skills/knowledge outside of the game, and you're spending hours making stuff that doesn't look half as good...
Will you be able too close off the backstage sections to the guests? Because they ofcourse dont care about any walls on the path. Would look kind of weird to see the guests walking backstage..
Has it really been 2 years, wow... Still my favorite notification buzz.
Everytime, just when I think "okay that part is done, that looks great!" you're like 30% done and you start adding stuff which I've never ever even thought of 😂

Silv saying he's struggling with german pronounciation but nails both Karacho and Gesengte Sau....

Amanda Cleland yes we should send this to cedar fair and tell them to put it in Kings Island
I'd be interested to see how Silvarret would tackle a Sci fi theme. I haven't seen him venture into that territory. I bet it would be pretty cool.
Hard to believe it has been 2 years but it has been worth the wait. Looking forward to the completion.
In Europa Park, the restaurant's backstages are in the same decorated building of the restaurant itself. Actually, a big part of the theme buildings you see in the parc are mainly used for the staff

rycie nice pfp
A little late to the party, but I loved the fun philosophical talk about the backstage areas! Fun to think about.
Not as late as I am responding to this :) thank you!
Lol, Silv's backstages are more detailed than my front of house structures...geeze. Always enjoy watching this series, man. Lookin' great as always.
Thank you masked!
The banking of Collorado adventure payed attention on the first seats of the long train, that are often pushed into the curves and therefore are a bit faster in that section of the track. So the overbanking is on purpose.

Oh yeah perfect idea! I believe that he will do the final touch ups in the next one so I'm hoping it wouldn't "kill" the magic! 👍
I'm still figuring out what to do with the lifthill, you can currently see the backstage buildings. I might just plant a bunch of small spruces to obscure the view.

I love the way you detail the backstage area. Also great tips on building.
Tripsdrill has now 2 new coasters:
1) Hals über Kopf a inverted coaster from Vekoma
2) Volldampf a Family Boomerang from Vekoma
Love this kind of episodes
Can we just admire that it took 125 years to build this park
Outside of Disney, I personally think Adventure Express is the best mine train in terms of layout, just the way it feels so unstable makes it so much fun so maybe your crazy laterals will feel like that.
RCT3 Silv would be proud of your backstaging :D
Really nice work on the backstage areas
I think fixing the forces could be a educational as well as entertaining
Good point, thank you!
I think for realisms sake, you should fix the g-forces on the coaster. Tbh, I think you sorta owe it the project to give your all in a way.
You're right. I just need to figure out how to make it into an interesting video - I don't think time lapses will showcase the process very well, so it might be more real-time (and a bit tutorialesque)
Wow 2 Episodes in one week from jägerhorn!!!🤩
I love what you did in that Park. It is a verry nice alpine Park!
Doing parcour on your roof would be great!
Damn man so much detail! It's so nicely build!!
But why aren’t you an architect? I bet you would be great.
I'm always amazed to see the power that your videos have to make me feel so relaxed and peaceful hahahaha
(And of course you make the best content on planet coaster which makes it also super interesting).
WOW.... Wederom een prachtige aflevering, en wat een details verwerk je erin zeg !!! Gewoon Geweldig !!!
Dankjewel!

I'm still bummed out about not continuing Fantasy Valley. I'd love to try something similar again.
Tripsdrill is so nice. I need to go there again. This is created by 2 brothers they really care about how the parks looks.
Any detailing you do man is a joy, cause it's like being in the workshop while Ruben or Rembrandt works, dude.
Looks wonderful, as always.
Backstage areas kick @ss.
Patiently waiting for a new episode of Parkitect..
I am very much in agreement
I have it ready, just need to find the time to upload it!
Silvarret Do a parkitect projeckt in sandbox great video btw
I'm sorry, a sandbox project will have it wait, I want to finish the campaign first. After that... Well, I can't say too much about what comes after the current campaign, but I'll definitely have some more content to play with.

You make this look so easy, Silv. I thought backstage was suppose to look hideous :P You make it look so inviting, hehe. Awesome work man :)
Loving all these backstage buildings, it's a nice balance between the bluntness of the Disney backstages and some of the smaller family parks that are a little more detailed. Are you able to see the restaurant backstage from the second lift btw? I can't quite tell.

Imagine walking around in that village and you take a wrong turn, and end up leaving the matrix.
Backstage tours at theme parks really do be like taking the red pill.
Great job!
Love it. I love this park.

Hello fellow dutch guy🇳🇱
you can press "F" to place wheels perfectly on vehicles :D
...I always forget about this lol, thank you
U need to do more parkitect those are my favorite vids
very impressive work!

sorry about the terrible English.. wrote it on a non English phone
Trust me, as the son of an architect, they hate you engineers too.
Turn up the friction of the coaster so it goes slower through the turns
Unfortunately, it wouldn't make the final brake run if I did that :/
Silvarret ah vet! Gaat hij nog een keer uploaden. Zijn videos waren altijd heel vermakend.
You should build the full park
Glad you enjoyed Tripsdrill; it’s actually my home park! I’ve been going there since I was 3. Did you ride the windmill slide?
Yeah, the windmill slide is awesome!
Doesnt disneyland make a lot of backstage buildings green so they hide in back of trees better?
i think we have to ban you for a time to to interact with Rudie :p
personally think backstage area's should be there, but then they also need to make sense.

Nice it’s like playing parkitect. Backstage 😰
Love your series. Keep making episodes sooner than later
I just make sure to keep my lateral g's under 2g, otherwise it's a lot of messing about.
Here's some advice on roller coaster g's:
coasterforce.com/physics/
Just because I am a greedy person and want to ride it myself, do you ever upload your parks to the steam workshop?
I will - once they're finished (which is usually the problem... Oops)
Didn't you mention that you wanted to have a realistic "disney"ish-coaster? So, why not just add a backstage that you absolutely nailed.
So when are you going to work at the efteling as a designer?
When the best planet coaster creator says the game doesn't translate to any enrichment of skills/knowledge outside of the game, and you're spending hours making stuff that doesn't look half as good...
Are you ever going to open the park?
i thought this series was done...
Why isn't this in the playlist?
can you please do a roller coaster pov please!!
Silv, will you do a tour of this park anytime soon?
Hopefully!
Pls put this on the workshop
Will you be able too close off the backstage sections to the guests? Because they ofcourse dont care about any walls on the path. Would look kind of weird to see the guests walking backstage..
As far as I'm aware, guests are unable to cross a few fence items - I've hidden those in the scenery pieces that hide the backstage areas!
Pov?
:D
inlet and outlet
You’ve gone too far
Nooooo... it’s the touch of realism that completes it
