Was riding with a buddy one day and the Banshee throttle got stuck open on a nasty turn. I hit the eject button. Banged up my elbow pretty good on the landing. I had to get a ride back to the truck on the back of my buddy's Raptor 700. When we get to the trailhead, there's a guy sitting there. He's sees us roll up nut-to-butt and says, "So, you guys ride 2-up all the time or..." Indeed, a fighter jet is the only appropriate time for 2 dudes to stack. Or when you wreck your Banshee.

Excellent rundown. I've been telling people, a mid-cc through a big single will do anything and everything you need to do. Any more and its your testosterone speaking. Plus, as Dirt Trax has said, sometimes its more fun to push a smaller ATV than to ease through with a big bore v-twin.

@null My Sportsman 2-up goes 132km/h. 750 KQ went 110km/h. And the 2x4 300 went 90kmh. How often do people ride at those speeds, not very.
If you do the power to weight ration, the big bores have the same power ratio as the race ones.

I need an ATV that will run though a muddy plowed heavy Kentucky clay farm field... The kind of clay mud that pulls your boots off if you walk through it.
It needs to be able to tote a 200lb+ driver, 40lb jerry can, 100lb back pack, and some extra gear. (450lbs/500lbs payload).
It needs to be reliable because it is going to travel way out where nobody can hear you scream.
It needs to be fixable on the fly, and easily maintained.
It should also be somewhat stealthy with a low sound signature.
    Diesel/multi fuel (If that exists).
Which one is my best bet? (Price = Sky is the limit).

Most 4x4s 500cc and up will fit your needs.. We have had terrible luck with Polaris ATVs but some folks have faired better than us.. My personal preference is the Yamaha Grizzly 700, next would be the KingQuad 750 or Brute Force 750.. A CanAm Outlander 850 or 1000 would definitely meet your needs to but those are my recommendations and the machines I'd be considering if I were you.. All will be 10k + so it will come to you prioritize.. Japanese machines tend to be more reliable, CanAms are much more powerful.. A 650 Outlander actually has more power than all the Japanese machines I mentioned so you could consider that too..

the brute force 750 is my ideal machine. it is not expensive, old school, well made, fun to ride, fast and very quick. has great engine sound. does not overheat and is reliable. is very good looking. has a racing heritage from the glory days of kawasaki and mike penland. and easy to tweak for better performance. it is comfortable and very agile. very light machine. it needs led lights, better suspension and if i am a bit picky, it need that 800cc engine that kawasaki already has in the teryx and is the exact same engine but larger displacement with more power. kawasaki is one of the most powerful companies in japan. they make anything from nuclear plants to robots, from satellites, military and civilian planes, high speed Shinkansen bullet trains , they are a titan in japan. it would cost them minimal effort in time and money to upgrade the brute 750. we d'ont need a 1000cc machine. a light 800cc machine would be very good. 800cc and 400 pounds lighter than 1000cc can am and polaris. now that would be fun.

We did a shootout between the Grizz and KQ last year, both are great machines.. Definitely my top 3. After that, it comes down to availability, price, and personal preference.
