I think she meant how thin the horses mane is. I'm not sure if you've ever had to braid a thinner mane before but it is difficult. My sister's Arabian has a thin mane and to prevent the frustration of braiding it for endurance races I shave or roach it.
Nice braid...I'm going to try this on my Haflinger...hoping her hair isn't too thick or short. Lol! Sierra is beautiful, one eye and all. ❤ I'm glad she has an owner who cares about her. My horse had eye cancer too, but thankfully they were able to save her eye.
@@taylorsisk533 It wasn't as easy since it was so thick, and she kept moving to swat at flies. All in all it worked OK. I would suggest making the braid strands a little bigger to make it lay smoother on her neck. She pulled it out easier since her hair's so short by scratching against her feeder.
I like your braid on your horse, not tight, I viewed another horse braiding video, omg this woman braided so tight! I felt bad for that horse! Kaitlin, your braiding style I love it!!!
Very nice braiding, but you have confused the French and Dutch braiding style. French braiding is commonly confused with the Dutch style. French braids are when the strand of hair is placed above the strands when braiding, however Dutch, which is what your demonstrating in the video, is where the braiding strands are underneath each other giving the effect that the braid is on top of the hair, as opposed to French style where it gives the effect of the braid being tucked under the hair. This is just constructive criticism, and advice, no hate, and your braiding is lovely 😁❤️
Same indeed with people in braiding but I also researched as to why a lot of people are suffering from hair loss: overprocessing hair, wearing pony tails, buns, etc. I've just recently heard about " alopecia. ' So not just horse hair, human hair certainly.
braiding the middle piece under makes it a dutch braid (the one in the video) and braiding it so the the middle piece is going over it’s a french braid (the braid basically doesn’t poke out)
@@pamelameckley5040 it does not hurt them if you keep it relatively loose so it doesn't pull on them. I braid on her because her mane is so long it gets tangled when I ride.
@@kaitlinnatoli567 I hope the person above sees this translated into his language, I just translated what he/she said. Thank you for responding though! 😊
I laughed when she said she’s making it real difficult for me when the horse wasn’t even moving 😂

maybe she was talking about the hair lol maybe it was too thin lol

@@cantbebothered112 yes that is exactly what I meant, as you said a thin mane is difficult to keep in place.

Def let me know how that goes. My mare has super super thick hair.

Stunning horse, mane & plait!! Oh and your nails look great as well :D

Extremely helpful video watched this and then did it on my horse first try thank you!!!
Glad it helped!

Your profile pic is everything btw haha
You are right! I can not for the life of me Dutch braid. I can only French braid 😅 My hands become broken why I try lol
Maybe it’s not the same for horses 😂😂😂
That's,such a perfect job! Looks great too!😊
My quarter horse has such thick and lucious hair, i really hope this works on her ot looks stunning

Hi Kaitlin,
Are you on social media where I can follow you as well? Maybe you have more videos that teach various methods of braiding a horse?
Omg the horse I work with will not stay that still on her life
So cute I found one I can do finally!
Прекрасная работа! Вам привет из России 😅
Very nice tutorial, thanks ilm try my luck tomorrow !
This was helpful I’ll try it on luna
I tried this and every time the hair ended the pieces would stick out of the braid. What do you recommend doing
Great movie🤩
Can this work on long and thick hair? Thanks
Hey if anyone sees this should this be used for western shows?
Awww sierra so sweet with her one eye. How did she lose it? Can you ride a one eyed horse? Serious question lol
Yes I still ride her she's just a trail horse. She lost the eye a few years ago due to cancer in the eye.
I want to try this on my horse but does it hurt them?
What would it look like braiding over top instead of over?
braiding the middle piece under makes it a dutch braid (the one in the video) and braiding it so the the middle piece is going over it’s a french braid (the braid basically doesn’t poke out)
lol at the start her side eyeing her . And also yes don’t make it too tight but horses don’t have pain scenes in their hair
Super nice woman
Haha cute, try that with a thick mane like the mane of a haflinger
lol try with a gypsy vanner horse lol
I’m kinda new to the horse world, is this braid acceptable for Halter Class?
Typically no for a halter class, always depends on the breed but I wouldn’t use this in a halter class.
@Kaitlin Natoli Ok, thank you!
gourgeous
I did this too my mini ponies but there hair was too THICK
Such silky mane!!
Śliczny koń po co się zaplata warkocze koniu czy boli jak się zaplata warkocze koniu czy nie XD
Translated into English: Cute horse why do you braid a horse, does it hurt when you braid a horse or not XD

I don't even own a horse, my aunt does and I'm going there next week and they want the colt's and one of their mare's hair braided
My horse won't stay still EVER. Because we have to take him to shows and a have to braid his mane but HE WILL NOT STAY STILL. 😂😂😂😂

نظرة سيرا في البداية 😂
Next up: How to braid corn rows on your horse
❤️💛💚😮😮😮
That is such a thin mane compared to a Haflinger
Me iba a suscribir pero vi que solo tienes tres videos nada mas 🤷
“She’s making it real difficult for me” are you talking about you because she didn’t do anything.
That’s a Dutch braid ☺️
Poor HORSE
Why
Cultural appropriation,lol
This is not a French braid! She said some people braid over top lol braiding over top IS a French braid this is a cornrow
Horse mane is same like white peoples hair🤔
