i’m gonna get “man’s search for meaning”. in my Human Experience class last semester we read one of his exerts and i found so many quotes that resonated with me that i loved, “when a man finds that it is his destiny to suffer, he will have to accept his suffering as his task” - Viktor E. Frankl. I love this quote because i feel like we all run away from our responsibilities and are afraid to fail or suffer. you could apply this quote in many ways, if your afraid to suffer you won’t grow. and when you find the beauty the struggle you can fully appreciate life.

"In your reading era... as the girlies would say" loved it xD. Great recommendations! I am also returning to reading and wanted to explore self improvement, Man's Search for Meaning seems cool, might start with that :D. Also I love the lights 🌟🌟

i’m gonna buy “man’s search for meaning.” we read some of his exerts in my hmxp class last year and i found so many quotes that resonated with me. “when a man finds that it is his destiny to suffer, he will have to accept his suffering as his task” - Viktor E. Frankl. i feel like so many people run away from responsibility, and are afraid of failure and suffering. ik growing up i’ve had a constant thought pattern of, what’s the point of all this when i never get a break, i get one thing done and three things fall at my doorstep. but once you accept suffering as your task, your destiny, your “human experience” life becomes that much easier for you. it kind of just switched my perspective on things.

@@jacobdreamsasmr it’s basically about two pre-med students who research this phenomenon of people having super powers, and they realize that they might be able to cause it on purpose, but they’d have to die and come back to life. So they try it and get powers, but other bad stuff happens, and the one character sets out to get revenge on the other who screwed him over lol. The way it’s written is really interesting too because it bounces back and forth between the past and the present, so it’s like two stories going on at once

I adored Normal People 🤍 even the screen adaptation, I felt it made great justice to its delicacy. I have a feeling you might also enjoy High Fidelity by Nick Hornby and Norwegian Woods/Tokyo Blues by Haruki Murakami. They are novels rich in musical references, coming of age aspects, and existential-ish insights, even though the first has more of an ironic tone while the second is quite melancholic from the start.
