i’ve always thoroughly enjoyed asmr that revolves deep conversations/topics; being able to relax the mind while discussing topics that could be too touchy or just too much sometimes is a good approach in my opinion:)
Bro not only have you whispered for 2 hours straight giving some great advice but ontop of that timestamping each and every one? Youre a legend man appreciate every little bit of the extra mile you go ❤️
thank you very much! i completely agree with your phrase „focus on how this person makes you feel“. yes,of course we love someone for personality, but it’s so important what influence and we get from them. you cannot imagine how right you reminded me of it now💗
I have a hard time overthinking about people so it's easy for me to give that advice and harder to take it, but taking that extra second to evaluate their tangible impact on your life helps a lot. Thank you for submitting something!
Dude the way you explained emotional fluctuations with the graph was super interesting, I hadn’t ever thought of it like that. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question!
My therapist is really good at using simple charts and graphs to illustrate stuff so shoutout to her for that. Sometimes you just need an easy way to visualize something complex like healing
you’re channel is so versatile (i hope that makes sense?), i love it. i think your advice is very good and you’re very good at being welcoming and encouraging while keeping it real. i would love to see you make a video about love and your feelings about it, i can tell you love the idea of it and you sound so in love with your gf 🥲. i also think people’s takes on love are so interesting so it would be super cool to hear your perspective!!
Thank you! I always wanna try to find that balance of being empathetic and open, but also direct about what I think. And that’s a great idea, I just started writing down video ideas and I’m gonna put that on the list. So you’ll probably see it soon. Thanks for watching!
My love for you grows more with every new video you put out! You don't know how special you are. You're like the best friend I've ever wanted. (Saying this in the most respectful way because I know you have a gf ❤) By the way I also went to London 2 years ago by myself and I also had a hard time and felt lonely af but in hindsight I'm so lucky for the experience! I'm currently going back and forth about planning my summer holiday and I kinda wanna go to Barcelona but I'm not sure yet but you saying that you have to put yourself out there and collect experiences makes me wanna go. Sorry if my grammar is off, English is not my first language :)
That’s so sweet of you to say, thank you so much ❤️ I’d say if you can afford it definitely go, those trips are hard but now that you know that, you can lean into it and really make the most of your time. My parents always tell me to make the trip a bit shorter than I originally planned but that’s just cuz I get too excited and overdo it. But lmk what you decide to do, and thanks for watching!
I appreciate you taking the time and answering my question! you are so well spoken and i really enjoy your videos bc it feels more personal so thank you! I will be checking that book out for sure!! I loooove books like that so if u have any more recommendations similar to that i’d love to know 😇
No problem! Read a synopsis of it first, or maybe a youtube video about it to see if you'd like it. I really liked the first half, the second half was not as much for me. For other books let me think and get back to you. This is gonna sound backwards but lately I feel like fiction books have actually made me feel better about myself than self-help. When I read about different characters and their flaws and motives, it kinda makes me realize the value of being unique and having your own story. Idk if that makes sense or not
@@jacobdreamsasmr yes that makes sense!!! tv shows and movies really have that effect on me so i could see a book being the same!! any fiction books you recommend or what was the last one you read?
A new friend of mine, someone who actually comments on my videos, recently sent me a journal in the mail. And I just want you to know after listening to your answer to my question a few times, I immediately went to “transcript” and wrote down every word. Because the days where I wollow in self pity of negativity, I want to look back in my journal and it will help me realize who and what I’m doing this for. ME. Ty so much, you have no idea how your answer meant to me. Because it’s 💯 percent the truth and I know it. So thank you ❤
It's funny you say that because I just decided that I want to journal again, so I can look back and remember how I used to feel about stuff and compare it to where I am in that moment. I'm so glad something I said stuck, thank you for submitting something!
Hey Jacob. I just wanted to thank you for this video. I didn’t make a question on the community post, but as I can tell, other people is also going through some of the “young-adult existencial crises” that are hitting right now. I’m just about to go to college, and with a lot of doubts abt my life, but this video really (but literally, really) helped me clear some of those thoughts, and now I feel way more confident on some aspects of life that scared me. Thanks man, I really do appreciate you sharing your experiences with us. Love from Mexico ❤
Bruno, that’s so cool to hear bro, I’m glad some of the video helped you out. If you ever wanna talk more about it just email me, I think my address is in my bio. And thanks for watching ❤️
@@jacobdreamsasmr thanks Jacob! It means a lot, I will try to reach out to you through email. I hope you have the possibility to write back and talk a little bit more abt your life experience regarding some topics 🫶🏻
"comparison is the thief of joy". honestly yes. thank you for another lovely video, i love your content sm ❤️ idk why it came to me during this video specifically but i really recommend watching the film American Beauty :)) here's a rant: I'm an architecture student, going into my 3rd year of studies. I have always been hard on myself in every single aspect of life, and although comparing myself to others has largely been a driving force to do better, in the architecture field, it has transformed into pure toxicity and depression. that is to say, I've always considered myself to be in the top circle of students in terms of academic and extracurricular performance, and social life. now, every time you think you fucking smashed your project, someone has a better idea than you, gets more internship opportunities, gets along with professors, draws better than you, brings a better model than you, etc. same with my part time graphic designer job- i feel as though I'm making average bs which isn't outstanding, and deserves the low pay it gets. and you sit there like- why the fuck did I even put the effort in the first place, if someone will still be better? why did I choose this path in the first place? and then when you try to explain the situation to your friends in other fields, or your family, you just break down crying not knowing the way out of this fucking psychological rabbit hole. BUT THEN, you have your friends tell you how amazing you are and how much they look up to your efforts and you just get into a cognitive dissonance. the only way I can bring myself to calm down in such moments is knowing there's not a single person (perhaps except rich international students always having a backup plan) in my faculty, or on the planet, who doesn't feel the same way towards somebody else. your parents look up to someone else in terms of having a better house or job probably. your professor looks at other architects and thinks they couldn't achieve the same success. another student might look at YOUR work and think you outdid them. believe it or not, we're not "all different"- we're all fucking the same, and that brings me loads of comfort :))
That's a great point, one of the things I fight the hardest against is feeling like I'm the same as everybody else. I can kinda admit in most ways it's true, and it's a good thing because it reduces some of that pressure I put on myself, but I still have this natural resistance to the idea and I struggle with it. I really wanna be unique, but I think that might come easier after accepting that in many ways I am just like others. As for your projects and art, I'd recommend the book the creative act by rick rubin. I have a bad habit of comparing my work to others, but I think a lot of the joy of it comes from the actual process of making stuff, and that book describes that process very well
