Its always very interesting when I get a little peek into these peoples private lives, their homes and graves. It just adds a little insight and shows what kind of people they were. I feel he was a humble man who lived a modest life and ended up in a plain and simple grave and didnt need to live in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
Grave is very low key and humble, much like the man. Wish it and the cemetery were looked after better. I mainly know his work from Smiley’s People. Thanks L T.
He was one of my favourite actors of all ,time ,my favourite film 🎥 he was in was the epic tremendous Cromwell with the late sir Richard Harris ,it's such a brilliant film of king Charles the first protral that led to his trail and execution as well as the beheading in Whitehall, he was such a private person and kept his self to himself, I like people who are like that, and stay out of the public glare of fame and laid back nature of the man , I think his wife probably died of a broken 💔 heart with him not been around living by herself and sadly passing away not very long after he past away 😭🙏🏻 I really enjoyed your lovely tribute to such a fine actor,🎭 7:40 many Thanks your friend always Rodders 🙏🏻😁😘thanks L T 😌
My sister reminded me a while back about something that happened at Midnight Mass in Porthmadog Christmas 1977. As a 5 year old I had only just seen Star Wars and I had seen an oldish man and said to my dad ‘look, that’s Ben Kenobi’. The man smiled at us and then turned his attention to the mass and it was indeed the great man Alec Guinness. He had often visited the area since being in The Inn of the Sixth Happiness which was filmed around Beddgelert about 8 miles from Porthmadog. I do remember it happening but my sister, who is older, remembers it quite vividly.
Great video. What a lovely place. What a sweet couple they must have been. He seemed like a smart and thoughtful guy. They don’t make actors like that anymore. Any idea where J. B. Priestley is buried or Lawrence Olivier? 😊
Great actor!. He was superb in Great Expectations. I was reminded of the fact he met James dean at a restaurant, where Dean wanted to show him his new sports car(Porsche Spyder), when they both got outside, Sir Alec, told him not to drive this car, as it would end in tragedy. James Dean died a week later☹ Good video, L T Jones👍
Great actor ~~ Father Brown ~~ he wouldn’t bother about the burial site ~~ it’s where he and his wife wished to lie ~~ as he would have said “ appearances can be deceptive “ ~~ Thankyou Sir Alex . ✝️❤️🕺💫⚡️✨
Great video again lt but it does make me think when i watch your work Doesn't matter how famous or how many people we know in life we are all forgotten in time
Lovely… thank you! I lived in Petersfield and I remember seeing him in church (between 1990 and 1992), I remember that he was very unassuming. Didn’t draw attention to himself… people obviously knew who he was, but left him to himself. Not at all what I expected… he was a very private man.
How sad to see his grave and that of his wife so unkempt. I’m sure his family enjoyed the inheritance they got , sad to see they didn’t care enough to pay for the upkeep😢
He bought a lot of pleasure in our house when I was a girl my mom and dad always watched him s sad te graves are not looked after RIP ❤ till the next one 😊
The Harrow Pub with his son Matthew and 4/31 Certainly very modest ordinary house I liked cottage shown earlier better 6/03 Grave stone already fading very shocking no Cross or Bible quote only The Readiness is All meaning what? Very saddened to see this final resting place of Alec and wife so secular for my favourite role as The Prisoner 1955

Thank you Steve, and thanks for the suggestions 👍
I think he would have preferred to be remembered for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and also Smiley's People.
I think you're right
Such a shame that the graves have not been looked after.
Thanks LT for another very informative video. They both lived to a wonderful age. Thanks for showing us their graves. 👍👍

Hi June, thanks for watching
I like them all of the time👍
Many thanks
You choose great music!
Thank you!
Makes me wonder if he ever got to see Phantom Menace which got released in 1999, a year before his death.
Looks like no one has been to their graves in a long time.
There was an Australian flag and some other things by the grave but shomehow I messed up
🤍✨
