i love how mecha gaikotsu really make every single of the environment as the kit advantage, this maybe only 1 second screen time, but that background blue light use for the kamehameha pose on 9:18 is just, really deserve some appreciate for how dedicate this video is when reviewing a kit cheers!!! can't go wrong by being a fan of this channel for so long :D
Something I've noticed about this video, I really like the audio editing - the background music is there for ambiance but it doesn't get in the way of anything while still being able to "fill in the silence"! Editing has been improving as of late and just wanted to appreciate you on that!

I also really hope they expand on the New Spec line! I currently have the old FRS Ultra Instinct Goku sitting along all my gunpla that I've built since moving and I would love to have another UI with the New Spec update!
The old version definitely had much better torso articulation. Everything else here looks like a huge improvement in looks, proportions and articulation all seems good, so hopefully this works as a reboot for the line to redo the kits that definitely were iffy like every Vegeta which were just so ugly and toy-like in appearance.
They took out the effect parts. The old ver. have the drop down elbow for cross arms pose. If they make better Freeza would be great. I have ss Goku and Bardock swap parts to ss Bardock and normal Goku with naked body for option.
Nah, this not Labo type of kits. Labo is the multi-layer colors kits that imitate gradient like you painting the kits, like the blush on the cheek. This is just standard type of multi mold separation that been used on older Figure-rise Dragonball way before Figure-rise Labo out.. 6

Damn, he looks really good. I had a choice between this Goku and a Kamen Rider Kuuga kit, grabbed Kuuga but now I'm regretting it lol. I love kits that use minimal stickers because I suck at applying them 😭
only complain with the kit is i wish it actually had a more solid connection to put him in on a stand maybe include a second blue belt that has a hole for when you are not using a stand
What I'm impressed about with this is how what was done through stickers on the original version, is now done in plastic parts. I would be surprised if Bandai doesn't make the rest of the variants of Goku and other existing Figure Rise Standard Dragon Ball kits under the 'New Spec' line.

I guess they're going to release Goku's other forms in the future using this mold. I just hope that they change the color of his gi depending on the form.
They won’t. I say this, because they didn’t with the original DBZ/DBS line of Figure-Rise Standard kits aside from the special color version is SS Blue Goku
it is definetly an improvemnent over the old kit but it does look like it is basically 70% the same? If they make such a big deal of this i feel with the advancement of kit technology they could have done more than just fixing the color accuracy of the shoes and new wrist+ torso joints.
Hey Mecha, I know it's not related to this kit but I just got an RG Hi-Nu and I watched your review on it but I can't distinguish what color marker you used on the blue parts because they seem to be more darker than usual for the blue marker. Would just like to know, thanks in advance!
I don't know if I'm correct, the creator of Dragon Ball met with Jacky Chan decades ago and said Jackie was the inspiration or was going to make a live action movie with Jackie as Goku.
As someone who has been collecting this line, I have to say that this figure is better in every way than the original base form goku except the face. I think the original just nailed the base form face perfectly. Overall great figure though, just some getting used to.
Sometime I hope Bandai releases Figure-Rise kits for a few of the Metal Heroes shows... Metalder, Shaider, B-Fighter Kabuto, Juukou B-Fighter, or Gavan. Maybe even some Darkstalkers or Sailor Moon kits would be nice. The Figuarts/Figma/Mafex figures are expensive as hell. Decent but cheaper substitutes would be nice.

So can the flesh part of the shoulder not rotate independently from the clothing to raise it higher? Can't help thinking they should have spent a bit more time on the pelvis and hips too. Those gaps are impossible to ignore. Breaking the area up into a couple more section on each side with a little overlap, like the shoulders, would have worked wonders.
The arm is attached to the blue segment which is attached to the orange sleeve. Technically you can unplug the blue from the orange to get more, but it looks strange too.

For the ranking system I'm thinking for dragon ball model kits are ranked by how many stars in the dragon Ball. Like one, star two star and so on. Naruto kits could be ranked by Kunis, shining gun, stage form, and others. If you decided to do any of the Power Rangers kits then I would probably rank them by Dino coins. Stuff like that.
figure rise made a huge jump with this figure. The difference between this new goku and the previous figure rise dragon ball figures are massive its not even funny, previous figure only came with open hands, and balled fists, and if youre lucky an instant transmission hand is all youll get, not to mention the horrible peg thats attached to the hand and not the forearm, making the hand come off easily (I've experience this with my dbs broly and vegito figure). This goku comes with 4 different pairs of hands just like the sh figuarts brand (peg is finally in the forearm and not attached to the hand), hell it even has five facial expressions when figuarts only has 3-4 per figure. I also love the black underline under the eye, it really does make it look straight out of the anime (AND THERE'S FINALLY TOE CURLS!!!) , I'm 100% certain if you like customizing figure rise figures you could make this compete with sh figuarts. I'm telling you man, if they keep this up with the other saiyans/other fighters, their stock is gonna go booming. Simply put: Amazing.
Tbh I still think I wanna collect the SH Figuarts. Slightly more expensive but they usually look just right out of the box. I'll proboly stick to Kamen rider for my figure rise standard fix

That face parts seperation is crazy good. Almost certainly going to be more cast members, which is promising.

with paint, this will actually look miles better than the SHF one. the proportions and plastic separation parts on this is just chef's kiss..

maybe use the wave shooter ver for the new spec zeta instead of the standard ver for less headache.
RG 2.0 zaku and rx-78 would be nice because then we could actually have a decent gouf custom and gm without using the old frame
