This definitely is an improvement, also this technically is a 3.0 version of figure rise since Bandai made many years back around 2008 or 2009 or so, A Master Grade Figure rise Goku with toe articulation however that scales around maybe 7 to 8 inches, so technically this new spec figure rise is the 2nd to have toe articulation and he is almost a figuarts 3.0 goku with some 1.0 articulation.
The not tamashii stage display stand is already a huge improvement to the value. Also they nailed the pants sculpt on this. I wonder if I can buy like 10 of these to replace the legs of the old figurerise kits
I bought this off a whim at a random video game resale shop and absolutely fell in love with it. My first model/figure/anything collectible ever and it sparked a new passion. I learned shortly after that all the other figure rise kits are not as high quality as this one (to my disappointment) but all have been a blast to build and pose
I've been really getting into the Figure rise figures and unlike a lot of S.H. Figuarts DB figures I feel like a lot of these scale perfectly with 1/12 figures like Figmas. I would like to see them tackle Cooler and Frieza's other forms some day.
Man I want a vegeta new spec The old vegeta kit was good but the waist and legs never looked all that good to me. Plus they never released base vegeta.
I remember building those older figure rise DB kits with my nephew when he was younger. They were his first Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, krillin... I never understand what so many collectors have against stickers. The few waterslides I applied to a figure were a nightmare. You have to cut them out yourself and rub them in on unequal surfaces and after you pull off the protective layer another layer starts peeling off and the actual waterslides start flaking. Never been let down by good old trustworthy stickers.
Great review mate, im really liking this new FRS, i mean i like the "1.0" alot, but these new 2.0 are gona be and look even better, this Goku looks so good and the possibility of customs with FRS are endless, and more easy to repaint and all, unfortunately they missing more vilains and one or another Z fighters, other than that they are becoming Fantastic, specially with those prices. It's refreshing tsee a reviewer rate a figure rise kit on its own merit. Most write these things off because they compare them to figuarts figures. Pity it doesn't come with an effect part anymore. Tbh the effect parts were the main reason I used to buy these for my nephew as the kits are great for what they are but building them does become a little monotonous after a while since all of these DB kits have mostly the same layout 😌
Wow, I love that they took design elements from the shf line with the wrist joints. If they update final form Cell, that'll most likely be bought for my display, for sure!!
Man I'd love to own a definitive perfect cell figure. Maybe I'm being too picky but I still can't find a perfect cell figure that appeals to my eyes and I'm hoping the new line would fix it for me cause neither shf, dragon stars or the old figurerise is doing it for me.
Everywhere says they are affordable compared to SH. What is the average price new? Asking cause this kit is 35 on BBTS and SH is that price as well. Not sure where to get it cheaper.
I’d really love a new gohan figure rise with either this new updated body, or possibly his more piccolo inspired outfit as seen in training for the tournament or super hero. Low key hoping for a saiyan man one, and an updated trunks.
Though the size might be bigger than Figuarts, it kinda work with each other depends on character I guess, for example cell or super boo.. with this kind of detail and articulation, i think it won't hurt me that much if i missed out on cell 2.0 release, that is if they ever made one😄
Damn they even need to release Majin Buu or Majin Vegeta/Black Goku FIGURE RISE STANDARD too 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️I don’t mean to underestimate SHFiguarts but it something different when we assembled them on our own, its just feels more authentic 😍🔥🔥🔥
Ngl when they came out with this model kit I thought it was designed to specifically look like Goku from the super hero movie, so I don't mind the 3d style look to him.
Been really tempted to get this Goku and that Gohan kit, then put all the future gohan parts onto the Goku. Not sure if it would work though, and that gohan kit is over 100 USD now

Definitely no experience required. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. And you’re basically building 4 main parts and just doubling up when it comes to the arms and legs. Well worth it for the final producr
I have a queston, is this figure have better joints than figuarts? If I pose him too much or gonna play with him and smth is he gonna break like shf? Or he is better in this
The plastic feels sturdier than normal model kit plastic but it’s no where near as sturdy as a regular action figure like Figuarts. I’ve never had any SHF break on me in the many years I’ve collected so I guess it really depends on each copy
this improvement on accuracy and articulation is amazing, I really hope we get to see a Base Vegeta Figure Rise soon

The head might work but other than that all the other parts including the armless sleeve will probably need some heavy mid work.
