    I buy the premium muesli from Lidl. I measure out one cup of it and then one cup of milk pop it in the fridge to soak overnight then in the morning I add one tablespoon of yoghurt, one chopped banana and 2 teaspoons of honey beautiful.
    The shed looks amazing, Sean it’s already starting to come together now, isn’t it? And we are going to be so lucky to watch the progress hope you have a good rest and we’ll see you in the next one from the old farts over here in Lincolnshire. ❤

      Should be mayo in the fridge, salad cream in the cupboard - but I think that's more to do with home made mayo because of the fresh eggs in it

    • @Angel-002
      @Angel-002 3 місяці тому

      @@kestrel230Yes!! Thank you!! So many people commenting on mayo having eggs in it & how it should be in the fridge, but I know people who never put mayo in the fridge & they haven't died😂 Shop bought mayo has preservatives & additives (& probably made with powdered eggs) so is ok in the cupboard (I've left it in the cupboard before now too) Homemade mayo should be in the fridge obviously, it's basically just eggs & oil.

    • @kestrel230

    The first thing I would "build" is a double bay composter. It's there to take the waste from the garden, improve any soils, and then it becomes an excellent potting soil.
    You could bring pails, buckets and start with those stinky water soaked comfrey, nettle liquid fertilizer.
    Start with the cold frame beside that shed for some place to get either late summer or winter crops started, hopefully under some protection from birds, etc

    Great job with the shed, doing it alone. Maybe an idea to put wood around the top then put the roof on to make it higher and then you could stand up in all of it. Just a thought 🤔. Take care. 🙂

      @@seanjamescameron that's good then. The only experience I had with an outdoor toilet was my grandmother's house and it was a piece of wood with a circle cut out with a bucket under it. I would not presume to tell you what to do with your life. I comment simply to inform. If you research the effects of fructose on the liver you will find some very interesting information that may help with your desire to eat for health. Also, the recipe for your breakfast calls for protein powder likely because adding protein with the fruit is thought to slow down the release of sugars into the blood stream. ie blood glucose levels might not spike as high as quickly. Just some early morning thoughts. Again, you get to make your own choices with zero judgment from me. Just informing so perhaps you can glean more information which could help with those choices.

    Agave syrup appears in lots of “healthy” diet recipes but it is high in fructose and too much fructose converts to liver fat. Personally I won’t touch the stuff. Bog standard table sugar is actually lower in fructose.

  • @joe604ipod
    @joe604ipod 3 місяці тому +19

    To be helpful Sean - Agave nectar is more % fructose than high fructose corn syrup. Fructose is digested differently to other sugars and can be a culprit in fatty liver.

My fridge is 4 times as big as yours and it is always full with only two of us in the house. Wishing everyone a full fridge. Peace! So happy you finally got a freezer. I have two deep freezers. Just throw the critics my way. giggling. I need to add that several times something has come up that required a large financial cost and we sure did appreciate having food stored. The fence on the homestead would keep the deer and hog ect from getting to your veggys..so behind the shed.....If you just pull off the green mesh and paint the wire black it almost disappears and you can look through it like it wasnt there. Just a thought. Can you plant your fruit trees to blend in with the forest? The composting toilet and tool storage, and green house sound like a great plan.

They are almost tame...I calmly just snapped my fingers a couple times and she slowly got up and we walked to where she jumped out the way she came in and I fixed the fence.... They are in my yard often it's their santuary as I dont have a dog, its quiet for them...but only flowers and plants they dont eat or that are out of reach work in the yard. I am pre diabetic so I am careful about carbs that turn to sugar too quickly. For breakfast I have steel cut oats soaked overnight with dried cherries and then cooked on warm cycle in my Instapot To this I add ground nuts and ground flax seed with a couple of tablespoons of evap milk. I eat this around 7:00 am - no hunger until I eat my main meal at 1:00pm. At 4:00pm I have my home made yogurt with berries. Nothing after that. Losing weight at about 1 1/2 pounds per week. Bicycle about 40 mins every day. The biking helps to moderate my appetite and blood sugar. Sean, you are inspiring me so much. I too suffer from terrible fatigue and am in the process of being diagnosed. In the meantime, I am pacing myself and doing a little but often and trying to not be overwhelmed by having so much to do.BTW you said 85 calories on the chocolate. The 85 refers to 85% cacao which is deemed the most healthy. Keep chipping away!

    Don't worry about buying "too much": food unless you find you're throwing a lot of stuff away. I have the odd habit of buying a cabbage every couple of weeks for a recipe I somehow never get around to making, and then tossing it out two weeks later. I have no idea . . . The shed looks really good--just right. I like the rusty panels in the fence, too, and clematis would be beautiful along there.

  • @cookinmum

    The shed look terrific, I’m impressed that you managed all alone, plus I really like the ideas your talking about. Here in 🇨🇦 sheds and garden plots are unusual . My grandmother however in the old country had a lovely shed and garden. 🇩🇰I have a picture of her sitting in front of it smoking a cigar and surrounded by beautiful flowers. I like all the furniture you have bought so far and I would enjoy having it myself. I have toast and cheese with a cup of tea for breakfast, which is when I spend time with you. Mayonnaise is normally kept cool so I am in the fridge camp ( it contained eggs I believe so best to keep cool especially in summer) You have not got to much food, it is only excess if you don’t eat it.Plus fresh food takes far more space than processed foods. thank you for spending your time to take us on a lovely peaceful journey and letting us enjoy the river sounds at the rusty home stead.

    Mayonnaise if never opened can be kept in a cool dark shelf in the kitchen. Once I open my mayonnaise I keep it in the refrigerator, but not in the back where it can freeze mayonnaise contains eggs that’s why once you open it it’s safer to put in the refrigerator, I hope that helps you. I’m watching old videos because I’m somewhat new so I still comment and watch the commercials for you. You have a great day and God bless you. I’m aware so just the sound of someone talking while I’m doing my chore is very peaceful and pleasant. You have a very calm voice and I really enjoy every every day now, sometimes all day

    I used to eat only once a day for weight management. Then I got diagnosed with osteoporosis due to not enough protein and calcium. Since your stomach shrinks on one meal a day, I could only eat so much before becoming full. I unwittingly damaged my bones. I now eat eggs, meat and tomatoes every morning with my coffee whitened with whipping cream.

    Your breakfast bowl looked delicious!!! You did a really great job putting that shed together by yourself!!!
    I did notice that when you finished with the frozen berries, you just put the open bags back in the freezer. Make sure you seal the bags if they’re resealable or use twistie ties to close the bags up before putting them back in the freezer. Frozen foods get that “freezer” taste from other items and they lose their flavor if they’re not closed and stored correctly. (An open container of baking soda helps to cut down on freezer odor and freezer “taste”.)
    Mayo is definitely a food that requires refrigeration once opened. It even says so on the label.
    I HATE those squeeze bottles of mayo--they are a 🤬 to use, and you can never get all the product out. I learned that when--for some unknown reason--the squeeze bottle was my only choice for my favorite brand when I was shopping a few months ago. Luckily the regular bottles were available on my next shopping trip.

    I have bullet coffee. I follow an intermittent eating plan. Lunch is many times breakfast(3 or so eggs with left over meat from dinner) it chicken salad with homemade mayo. I won't eat seed oils used in processed food. Dinner is a neat dish perhaps a small salad with vinegette dressing.
    Before grocery shopping, I check whats in my refrigerator. Then I buy what I need. If things need to be used, they go into a casserole or stew or soup. Soups and casserole can be frozen in your new freezer. You are such a busy guy, don't know how you get so much done. All the best,😊

    My breakfast almost every day is oatmeal 40g cooked with water 2 minutes in microwave. I add 3g flax seed, 7g brown sugar on top and 30ml milk = 210 calories. Occasionally I will have 2 eggs and a piece of bacon and toast.
    Just checked my mayonnaise- Real Mayonnaise, made with whole eggs and egg yolks. Jar says keep refrigerated after opening.

    Sean, DON'T consume your banana with blueberries! Research (lots of research) indicates that bananas, unfortunately, block the polyphenol benefits of blueberries and other such healthy fruits; kind of defeats the object of eating a 'healthy' breakfast in the first place. Not saying you shouldn't eat bananas but not with fruits at the same time.👍

    My breakfast varies quite a bit but I like an egg on a roll (Kaiser roll) with a bit of fruit, or an oatmeal/honey muffin (homemade, of course) with fruit. Sometimes granola w/ toast or toasted English muffin. In winter I like pancakes or French toast occasionally. Sometimes oatmeal. Coffee, always.

    I must say I have often thought you buy loads and loads of food but I have given this some thought and I believe it could be the fact you buy so much fresh food where people might just get a pizza out the freezer and cook it you would make your own I believe this is the big difference and why people think you buy lots of food but you buy a lot more fresh I think that's the difference loved the shed build but like you I'm very surprised on the sizes more so door and roof hights maybe it's shrunk in the rain haha 😅

    • @munchkinheaven
      @munchkinheaven 3 місяці тому +2

      @lindahoskins, yes they come with a wooden floor usually, but the floors according to where you buy the shed from can be very thin or too springy, (my son put his foot through a very thin base), go to a proper place and see one already erected, instead of a concrete base you can put slabs down. You can also get different roofs, think about what you will put in it, anything tall like ladders that you can’t fold down or lay on the floor may be too tall for a sloping roof, best to go to a shed place and work out the size for your garden and needs. And as Sean said in the video, they will put it together too!

    As for bananas, cut it in half before peeling and stand the half you don’t use on its cut end on a bit of paper towel. On a side note, I eat only plain full fat yogurt for it has less sugar then the rest. I also make sure I have protein in the morning such as eggs and I include walnuts with my yogurt and fresh blueberries. I change up my breakfast every other day so sometimes I have cottage with a slice of prosciutto and some melon. I definitely need protein to fortify me for my 3 mile walks everyday up here in the high mountains. As for having too much food, having a smaller fridge makes it appear more then it really is. 😊

  • @christhomas8332
    @christhomas8332 3 місяці тому +1

    If you cut the banana in half with the skin on the other half will form a scin so you just leave it on the side then slice of the end when you want to use the other half. 😊
