Harriet, brutal....

I agree completely. There is nothing like falling in love with the place you chose to live. I sold up in California in 2007 and moved to a small village in the south of France. What a wonderful demonstration of what humans have learnt about our world, which only highlights what modern city life has taken away.
Este planeta necesita más personas como vosotros. Sois un ejemplo a seguir, sois admirables 💚
We bought our 33 acres 11 months ago and our first task was to sink a bore , so we had unlimited water as we had been in a 3 year drought. Our place is booming now. Water assurance is so essential.
How'd you inherit 33 fricken acres? And don't give me some bs meritocracy "we worked hard" bootstraps argument.
@@danielanderson6933 lmfao
@@danielanderson6933 says “bought” ?
@@PNWlover ya. How'd he generate the income necessary to buy such an opulent purchase? "Oh you know I was just out about on the town and purchased 33 FRICKEN ACRES with my lunch money as you do"
@@danielanderson6933 perhaps they bought the land out in the middle of nowhere, perhaps they bought it in a country with cheap land, there are many possibilities. Calm down, there's no need to assume that everyone who achieves anything in life is a rich kid.
This is truly amazing! I teach the Farm to School program to my students and teaching them where their food comes from and to make healthy choices. We put in a Learning Garden and a small Orchard on the school grounds we take them outside and show them that anything is possible, we want them to start small little Victory Gardens We are a very large city public High school with over 2 thousand students. I am going to ask them to watch this video! Very inspirational!!! Thank you for all you do!
I would love to do this in Philadelphia!
Nancy well done, great to hear progress is being made.
Are you In Berkeley btw? I know they do at some campuses in the past
I literally cried at your comments at the end. This is how i want to live too and it brings me so much joy to see you working towards something so meaningful and achieving and receiving it. Keep it up!
The sheer work ethic and labor of love she has created is to be celebrated here. This is the life I find admirable over going viral.
Harriet, thank you, thank you and thank you. I got very emotional when you started showing the before and after shots. And when you spoke about your biggest lesson, the waterworks started. I didn't quite know why I was crying so much (I still am as I write this). I've had this little dream inside, since I remember, As I'm getting older, I understand it's everything but little. A longing, a true longing. To build a life where being outside is the norm, surrounded by nature, with space to be. In life's truth, with its inevitable hardships. Thank you for sharing your journey
Aw thank you for your kind words Marina. I hope you can find a way to make your longing reality, somehow, some way 💚
It was emotional. I have had the luck to live a short time in spain, it brought back so many memories. its the endless love in the video that made me cry tho.
Marina, I am in agreement with that desire and pull to live amongst mother nature while giving back to her
Watching you folks gives me hope for the future of humanity. Well done!
This girl is some kind of Wonder Worker / Miracle Worker who gives us all the inspiration to GET OUT THERE AND JUST TRY! What an incredible difference she made in just one year, and to think she went out there on her own, knowing so little and gained all the skills she needed. Just amazing and so inspiring - can't wait to get out there and give it a try myself. Gracias, amigas!
We need more people like you! Beautiful homestead…..you actually brought that place to life.
I actually started crying when you managed to fix the water. Beautiful place
Your values, in what you do, really shine through. This year is of great credit to you. Thank you for sharing it with us.......
Harriet, brutal....
goodness, you only liked her comment after she poured her heart into her comment and you knew her personally and she acceptyou I to her country and culture and community with full open arms🥲
You've done so very well creating such a balanced and harmonious place to live. The fact that you are self-taught in almost all aspects of your projects is truly an inspiration.
I deeply think this is one of the best videos on the net. Full of life, fresh air and energy! Beautiful. Wish you all the best Harriet and Mauro! xx
You’re a Worker! Be encouraged…coming from not ever working with your hands to this is commendable. And being on your own for the first part was commendable, as well.
WOW, you really done your best, from zero to hero. With no knowledge, no experience, not many people could of done it any better, congrats on all your achievements. WELL DONE!!!❤❤❤
I am so impressed with your ingenuity, determination & perseverance! You are amazing! Wishing you continued success in your homestead! You are an inspiration!
You can hold your head high. Very impressed with your progress. Thanks for taking us along with you. May God bless you ❤
I am so inspired, what an achievement! We have a small garden in Northern Ireland and grow a fair amount of our own fruit and veg and this takes up a lot of time, I can only imagine the hours and dedication needed to turn this piece of Spanish land into a self sustained homestead, hats off to you! 👏👏👏👏
Like a fairy you made a wonderful change everywhere, in every single detail. True, falling in love with your property has been key to your growing ability to reach all you have now. Love your vids, Harriet.
Thank you! 💚
Wow! This is simply awesome.
With such love and dedication the transformation is beyond words.
Simply, just well done.
Harriet, I got more inspiration from this video than from all the clerics and gurus in the world. Loving the earth and our place in it -- "wanting what we've got" -- is among the highest spiritual practices. Thank you is a mild expression for the gratitude I feel.
Ahh Gina thank you 💚
Hello Gina
How are you doing today
Dreams are a direction disguised as a destination. In each step lies the reward of its accomplishment along that path. Bravo to you and your husband young lady you have found your direction.
Dear Lady,
You are a Powerhouse.
Talk about "sisters are doing it for themselves"!!!!
So very impressive.
Your statement of "this is my place" resounded with me. Great attitude.
All the very best to you 2023.
Cheers.😁
UA-cam kept recommending this so I watched it today. This is similar a bit to my journey. I bought a farm in Lithuania (I'm from Lithuania) and has been working on it on and off on my own. My husband should joing me this year hopefully. Of course, this lifestyle is challening, but being in nature, drinking fresh water, growing your own organic veggies, and having total peace is definitely worth it.
Wonderful! I've been a small farmer for 50 yesrs, and you're the real deal. Well done!
Amazed and deeply impressed by just how hard you have been working, especially considering that it's your "spare time". Wishing you absolutely every success and happiness! :)
LOVE what you said toward the end. You're an inspiration, you really are.
Amazing life change succees, story telling and video editing. Ty for sharing. Ps. Great tattoos

This is so inspiring, well done you should be super proud of yourself! How blessed to have spring water flowing on your land like that! Brilliant video thank you x
I can relate to her energy. When you focus and have a plan ahead, things get to be done much easier. And when you look back to how things were before, that is where the satisfaction comes along with more encouraging ideas to continue and do things better. Loved your video. Makes my day🥰💚
So inspiring! I leave with a warm feeling in my tummy. Thanks you so much
This is what I want for my life. Just a nice little farm in the countryside, a small house and a few animals. That’s all I need to be happy
Admirable work. You turned an abandoned old property into a lovely home for your family and your animals. Congratulations!!
Holy cow! You have done so much great work on the land! I can’t imagine how hard you have worked to get it all done!
This is such an astounding achievement! It would be impressive enough if you did this with already possessing the skills needed, the fact that you learnt the skills as you went along just makes it even more astonishing. This video is an inspiration and you are particularly a great inspiration to other girls/ young women. Wishing you continued success in your endeavours.
You are perfect, you have changed this area completele. Amazing work👍🤩
♥️ this is what our Mother Earth needs...
Bravo Harriet! I am so impressed! You are very resourceful. Moving into a shack on your own, without running water or any furniture, with thousands of items on your “to do” list, is a very brave thing to do. And look what you have achieved in such a short time! It’s wonderful!
Many of us dream of doing such a thing but so few of us ever do it. I hope you both have a long and happy life there. Well done girl!
😊❤️🦘
Thank you! You say brave but really there was nothing more I would have liked to have done in the world haha.
Purely inspirational. You are shining a light on how life aught to be lived. I am almost 76 now and have just bought some land with a mixture of fruits although they need a lot of TLC. We are not in Spain but not far as the crow flies. I will do my best to emulate your achievements for sure, as long as my old back doesn’t give up on me lol. Great video thank you.
Thank you, that's very kind! Best of luck with your project!

What a lucky man he is to find such a beautiful, hard working and resilient lady.
Thank you so much. What a wonderful result you created in yr beautiful learning journey. I’m in my first year of developing our farm part time at this stage. I wish it were full time and will be one day . I adore the water systems the Portuguese and Spanish farms have, they are so practical and great swimming holes in summer too.🙏💕🇦🇺
Oh my gosh Harriet you've done so well. When you see it like this from the start it shows just how much you've done and I'm so full of admiration for you. You are truly inspiring! Your farm will be even more amazing in another year. Well done and I'm looking forward to see what the future holds. Love your gardening content, as I'm a gardener too with a garden and allotment. Take care and cant wait for the next vlog.
Thank you Jenny! 💚
Giving your all to turn around what was in place of neglect..the energy that it takes to give these challenges a go is immense..everything looks amazing..just waiting for you to arrive..well done..and happy days..🍀💚🌱
Wow! Fair play to this incredible woman. Building a bathroom, doing all the plumbing herself and everything else!! Totally inspiring 🤩
I can't find enough words to express my admiration. You have reflected the heaven inside you to your home. Congratulations, I hope your courage will be an inspiration to us watching you with pleasure. Gracias.
I love this retrospective...shows how much all your hard work has paid off. Thank you for sharing your journey, and congrats on how far you've come!!
Thanks for putting this video together; it is wonderful to watch your progress in your farmstead, and what turned out so far through of all the work you did. It is really most impressive!
I'm amazed and stunned by this project! You encourage more people to live in better enviroment and be productive , to start build something and homegrow their food. For me this is a healthy lifestyle!
I agree completely. There is nothing like falling in love with the place you chose to live. I sold up in California in 2007 and moved to a small village in the south of France. I have my choice of beaches along the Mediterranean and surrounded by vineyards. The Spanish border is about an hour away so it is one of my favorite day trips. There is a village down there that I simply cannot get enough of. But, hands down, France holds my heart.
you are an inspiration Harriet, well done with all that you have achieved over the past year, sending you blessings of abundance of more to come, hugs
I love your videos Harriet, they are really inspirational. Seeing your progress is just amazing. I love your can do spirit, when when the task is difficult, or something you have no experience in. I find it really encouraging. 😘❤️🙏🏻
Seems like you're building your own little piece of heaven on earth!. Is really impressive how hard you've worked and how many skills you've developed in just one year!.
This video is an amazing proof of what people can do in a one year to make their life more meaningful and happier. I just can't help to think how much we waste our time, energy, resources, mental health and nature etc. for something we don't even care...
My hero! This is the life I had always imagined and I am glad this young woman is seeing it through. May more and more young people choose sustainable living. Thanks for sharing your story.
Dear Bleu, since you mentioned sustainable living, have you heard of the Save Soil movement before?💚🧘♀️🌿
Wow, you've done an amazing job on your house and the farm! Your enthusiasm is really inspiring.
It's looking so good. You guys have done an amazing job! Looking forward to watching your little corner of the world grow and evolve over time.
Bravo for not sitting back when times where hard and when you faced difficulties. Hope you prosper in your beautiful home
I started with a full one acre [0.404 hectare] and worked with hand tools one yard/meter wide strip. Each year the garden grew one yard/meter wider . It is a piece by piece job and you are doing great .
I’m very impressed, with your willingness to learn as you go, in the projects you undertake. It’s not easy having a large piece of property and a house to fix and maintain. A positive approach means a great deal in achieving your dreams. Lots of success in the future.🙂
I can't believe everything you have done. You are such an inspiration ❤️ gracias
Hi Harriet. You've done an amazingly wonderful amount of work/play and your home and garden have been transformed. Watching you inspired me to try a few new diy things in our own little home- some more successful than others! I'm looking forward to continuing to watch your journey unfold from afar.🌻🌱🥀
