🤔 NEW HERE? 🤔
Hi! My name is Christopher Odd, and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us, etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games, too!

I remember the kickstater campaign. This seens that in the end they found the money from other origin. Good for them, and for players.
This game is obviously very early in development, but I hope they take your advice. I love this genre so the polished games like this, the better!
0:21 Wait... *Microprose?* The original XCOM guys? I had no idea they still operate 🤩
They reopened about two years ago. Every review site was talking about it for quite a while. I don't think any of the same people work there, but they still own some of their old IP.
I said. thesame thing, I thought someone bought them!
I was shocked to, that they still exist.
The original XCOM guy(s) are not there - Gollop has his own studio. But yeah, Microprose is a name I have not heard for a while, hope it is more than pulling nostalgia strings with an old name.
@@veevoir Highfleet was published by the modern Microprose. :)
Idk how I feel about this one however, it's a good addition more tactics games please.
yeah....we need XCOM 3 ....
I get the feeling this game is going to end up in the same boat as the lamplighter’s league and classified France ‘44 [among a few other xcom-likes]. Quickly forgotten. Not on my to-buy list.
We really do
@Plaine same thing I said about Lamplighters, though. This is in the sweet spot of games I'd watch played, but wouldn't play myself. If he only plays the hits I'm going to play it first before watching, so that won't help his early view numbers. (assuming more people think like me)
@@joshp8535 Lamlighters is pretty fun to play
yes please 👽
Any time you see a fixed or mounted MG, the generic term is HMG (Heavy Machine Gun). Makes it easy. Very simple.
A Minigun is a specific model that has six rotating barrels. So please just use HMG, or even MG works. Thanks.
This one seems like an interesting one to explore in the future. The theme is really being worked, hopefully brings interesting thoughts too.
I like the authenticity of this game. The Slovakian collaboration of Hlinka Guard, the SS Tottekomf division being mentioned. Surprised though that the SS Adolf Hitler division wasnt mentioned by its name of the SS Leibstendarte AdolfHitler. Still, good to see some authenticity.
Solid mechanics. I'd love to see free aiming like from Phoenix point. Also, campaign mechanics are where this game will live or die. It's got plenty of competition in this space, and i always find XCOM/xenonauts to be highly enticing versus things like lamplighter league
This is giving me Train to Tarkov or what ever that one you played a few months ago was.
I can't get over the fact the default sound is so close to Maggie Simpson's pacifier sound
Awesome game for an alpha... keep us updated, please!! also, your nice-to-have comments are on the spot. Let's hope they hear you.
We do :)
I'm playing Jagged Alliance 3 currently and must say I find it a bit irritating that you cannot target different body parts here, with varying effects and accuracy. That's a gameplay mechanic that just belongs In "realistic" games like this, imo.
Different type of game completely. JA3 is all about the micro, most games in this genre aren't. Nothing wrong with having that preference though!
I wish it was possible to toggle between perspectice and isometric camera. I didn't particularly like when XCOM2 switched from perspective camera in XCOM Enemy Unknown to fully isometric in XCOM 2.
Slovakia mentioned!
Silent Storm vibes.
Classified France, but mechanics changed enough to not be exactly the same. Don't get me wrong, I like this 'xcom2' type of thing, especially set in WW2, but they are all of one and another. I would like to see a platoon level action. British County unit such as Durham Light Infantry verses Fallschirmjäger. Differing experience or weapons etc define how many troops available for the mission. Say an MG42 team are equivalent to four riflemen. You want a sniper, then you will have 8 less men, experienced, then less another 2 men. I'd prefer that to the resistance type set up. This format will suit other times of war, say Voltigeurs vs British light infantry skirmish. I-go-you-go skirmishing can suit many ages. My money will go to the company that uses the system to suit battles throughout the ages. Just choose your era.
@christopherodd Have you tried out Sumerian Six?
Seems like a good year for WW2 games with the 80th anniversary of D-Day just passed.
That was last year :-) EDIT: Nice catch And don't sweat it. I forget which year it is all the time. Maybe I should get a brain scan or something but I hear they give you cancer....
@@GoodEggGuy oops, math wrong 😬
looks cool
How would you rate this WW2 game vs Classified France? Same idea or totally different?
Good question, I'd say pretty similar with the will mechanics, but the base management is quite different. Haven't played enough to comment on enemy or level variety
I’m still holding on to hope that you do a full play though of System Shock. (2023) The original inspiration for Bioshock series!
I'm kinda disappointed that you can't take aim at the head of enemy like Valkirye Chronicle 4
Check out Every Day We Fight
🎉🎉🎉
Are you sure it was a Minigun? The Minigun wasn't in service in WW2. Are you sure it wasn't a Maxim gun? Or just a generic HMG?
big gun that does shooty
@@ChristopherOdd Thanks for replying. Any time you see a mounted MG, the generic term is HMG (Heavy Machine Gun). Makes it easy.
A Minigun is a specific model that has six rotating barrels.
So. Any XCOM clones out there now
A guy survives 3 direct rifle shots from like 15 meters, keeps his weapon in hands and retreats to be blown by a hand grenade... Ain't it a wee bit strange?..
Feels weird but is quite xcom-like gameplay-wise. Most enemies were not one-shot. The same applies to own soldiers.
Anyone else notice the lack of swastikas in this game?
Hi. Yes, this is probably the most discussed topic. Our hands are tied here due to very strict laws regarding this matter in country we come from.
@@centuriondevelopments1897 Thanks for responding!
I found it really irritating that you shot the first guy in the back (from stealth), shot him 2 more times and he still ran away.... Feels wrong in such a historical realistic setting :/
dragons dogma
just a copy-paste from France Classified ... just the locations are different
Healing 6 hp out of 100 and has a chance to fail? Bruh, wat?
I died inside
Grenades should destroy soft obstacles, game should show % as you say and language which soldiers use should be more accurate. Ps: Don't forget to loot everybody.
This...ain't it. Go get that bag tho
It's an Alpha. Not very often we get to take a look at those, and 99% of players never see an Alpha this early.
46 seconds no views, bro fell off
Finally!
This game's hard! 🪖
With good tactic you can do well. Every detail counts.
